Love history! This schoolhouse was fantastic! This was the third time I've been to the school house. (Always go there when visiting Virginia City!) It's the first prominent building/landmark on the right before you get to main Street Virginia City. You'll learn about the teachers, the kids, the grades, their schooling, all of it! Check out their curriculum posted randomly among the desks for consideration. I don't think today's high school student can answer the questions and speak on the topics fourth graders back then were...

The best place in VC for a great history lesson. Covers everything from the school itself, Mark Twain & printing, mining & minerals, Comstock history, 110 years of local school alumni, and a changing exhibit that always features something very interesting. If there's only time to visit 1 place in V C for your history lesson from knowledgeable & friendly folks this is it! Not to mention the museum is housed inside an authentic historic school from 1876. The beauty of the building itself is enough reason to stop...

They believed they were ghosts and we all went to the room where the ghosts supposedly were and she said she felt heavy and had goosebumps. I saw the picture it was like a grey shape ... I don't know. I felt fine though. It's fun to think about! Besides that there is a lot of history about the school and you can see their writing on the walls and desks. We...
