The saloon was another cool time capsule, the tour however, was sketchy. The girl ran us out the door when it started as if she was in a hurry. The group number they had was too large which she mentioned they had a bigger group than they typically take and we were ushered in rooms like sardines and had to be shoulder to shoulder. When we attempted to maintain some space she just repeated herself until everyone crammed in. She said things had been stolen in the past couple of weeks but she didn’t know how. Things like oil paintings but said there’s only one person with a key - the one that does the tour and otherwise it’s locked. She said hundreds of thousands of dollars of items had been stolen but later said there is only one painting that is original and it’s in the bar but otherwise it’s just filled with time pieces. She mentioned a table where historical people had played cards and says it had just recently been authenticated. Just recently? After all of these years? I asked how someone could walk out with a painting and large items and she said she didn’t know. At one point she asked her co-guide who was trailing us the entire time if she had heard a noise. When she she yes we were rushed out and down and back outside. She said it was for our safety but it was 5 minutes before the tour ended so it seemed she wanted a way to make sure she ended the tour at the exact minute. She said she was scared to be in the areas. A bit odd to work and do something that you’re afraid of but when patrons aren’t scared you run them out. Also very young children were allowed on the tour eating chips and snacks and others had open beer cups and one guy dropped his cup on the stairs. I’ve never been in any type of tour, especially a historical one such as this where people are told not to touch anything but kids walking around eating snacks and people with open cups of alcohol are just fine. Since when do tours allow food and drink while explaining historical value and how they’re trying to preserve it and fix it up. I’m glad we did the Chollar mine tour as well because this one was ridiculous. I feel like a more seasoned, mature guide would have presented it better and at least made...
Read moreTwo female bartenders there are very rude, an older lady and a short dark haired woman named Kimmie were very rude to my friends and I after finding out we were doing a little ghost hunting in the back "Ghost Adventures" room and crypt even though we purchased drinks like their sign says, were alone and haven't had issues doing this for years. She wanted us to either pay for an overnight investigation $400? or $150pp for a couple of hours...and yelled at my friends then proceeded to grumble about us at the bar which I overheard first before finding out what they did to my friends. Apparently greed has gone to their heads and they're going to lose patrons acting like that. Unfortunately, they're not the only business owners in town who are unfriendly like that but I won't name names but when you book a hotel room in the area you may encounter some of them...Virginia City may be a paranormal hot spot but it's still isolated with harsh cold winters and hot summers, no or poor a/c, awful wind and high altitude and the sheriff(s) always driving around looking to give tickets. Maybe they should take this into consideration if they want to continue chasing patrons off...some of us drive or fly from far away and don't appreciate being talked to like we're bad little kids...speaking of kids you may not want to take your kids there as there is a demon or two in this building, after saying prayers in the crypt several people started to get sick and smell phantom smells...one was like sulfur/rotten eggs, my friend later got possessed shortly after leaving at a hotel in the area. We also caught some evil voices there and had rocks thrown at us in the crypt. I used to be sceptical of it being all that haunted but it clearly is. I could go into more detail about what happened but this would turn into a novel. So ya...if you like rude staff, demons and overpriced investigations...This...
Read moreOn 10-28-24 we took the tour in Virginia city , Bats and Belfrey. It was a great tour that was historical in nature that included some paranormal activities that included the sb-7 spirit box session that revealed 2 different spirit voices which was exciting. At the end of this amazing tour, we were handed off to a different tour guide that took us into the old Washoe club, renown for the ghost adventure crews numerous investigations on the Travel Channel & Discovery plus on TV. The Washoe club was very dark, very creepy. Almost the entire group of people we were with were taking pictures using flash and no flash also video recording.i took 50 or so pictures during the tour but didn't look at them until we got home. I'm including 2 pictures that I personally took. No filters or flash were used. My camera was set to night which uses the low level light of an area to help with taking pictures in complete darkness. The first picture is of a mirror next to a solid wall. A solid wall. The anomaly is what appears to be a giant hole in the wall that starts halfway through the mirror I was taking a picture of and ending 10-15' away from the mirror. Remincant of a portal? The second pic is me in a room alone taking another picture of a mirror in complete darkness. The red and blue lights are glow stick wrist bracelets. Both pictures are of mirrors, no flash, night setting on phone camera...
