We stayed here about 4 nights. Spent $200/night on a Holiday Inn, because hotels just feel justified charging outrageous rates for lackluster, old hotels. The room was decent enough, but you could hear all the noise/racket from everyone going in and out of their rooms on the first floor, and of their kids squealing and making noise. I'd have chosen another floor if I had known that, but I think we were stuck anyway because they were booked. The breakfast bar had mostly stocked items, but there should have been better eggs and actual, fresh creamer for the coffee at $200/night. The picture I provided was indicative of most of the hotel staff at ALL the hotels we stayed at in Florida that week. Outside smoking, when they should have been at the front desk. The breakfast staff concentrating on personal conversations with the guests for hours on end, ignoring their responsibilities to take care of the food/service for others (this was at a different hotel, I believe a Hampton Inn, but indicative of the lackluster customer service on the whole). I watched the lady in the picture never actually BE at the front desk, and saw several guests have to wait for her to be done with her (constant) cigarette breaks before coming back into the hotel to help them. POOR SERVICE... Can't believe the hotel managers allow this to happen. The shower stall constantly leaked water, making the bathroom floor treacherous to navigate. This leakage was obviously happening a LONG time, due to the wall having to be repaired multiple times along the way, and the tile grout in the corners black from mold. Makes one wonder why they wouldn't get better shower curtains that were not porous and better able to keep the water in the shower, where it belonged. This particular location, on Hotel Road was difficult to get to, partly due to the maze of twists and turns you have to perform to get to Hotel Rd, from anywhere on the main road. This is (seemingly) due to Florida's decision to build roads and turns with NO ACCESS, except from one location. There should have been a turnout in the road instead of having to U-turn further out, anytime you're trying to get to the hotel. Overall, an expensive stay in an old hotel.

Judging from the outside this hotel is "not" what it may seem like on the inside. Nice and clean until you actually stay in the rooms that are not thoroughly clean. My family and I initial check-in day was April the 2nd and supposed to check-out on the 7th. Unfortunately, due to my mom and another family member getting bit by bugs on the 1st day on the sofa sleeper and later that same day on the bed. My mom's arm was irritated with itching, redness and swelling. I immediately called the front desk and explained the situation and requested another room. It was getting late, so this was a big inconvenience to us because we just travel a long way to get to the hotel and all we wanted to do is take a shower and rest. As I was talking to the front desk clerk she wanted me to come to her to swap out the room keys. My room was on the 4th floor and I was already exhausted and frustrated. So, I took the elevator to the front desk to get the new keys. The 2nd room was straight across from the 1st room that we had to move out. To my surprise as I opened the door guess what greeted me at the door crawling on the floor and the wall was more bed bugs. I was very angry at this point. My family and I were tired and wanted to settle in after a long drive. Here it is a little after 1 in the morning being switched to the 3rd room, but this time on the 3rd floor. This time the front desk clerk checked the 3rd room out first before having us move again after seeing the bugs in the 2nd room for herself. I can go on and on, but to make a long story short. We left the hotel the next day and due to the unfortunate experience that we had I will never visit this hotel ever again. I am very shocked and disgusted with this. I have been booking my rooms no matter where I travel at an IHG property for over 25 years and to have this happen makes me and my family want to stay at a different hotel brand the next time we travel. Attached to this review is a few pictures/videos.

Our compensation? $80 for having to clean our own room and spray with bug spray ourselves. If it weren't for the front desk staff, we would have left. They were very kind. The building is a bit dated, and the pool is very small, but that's ok. Our room had bugs (miniscule sugar ants) in bathroom and on the desk and by the fridge and coffee maker. We also had one dirty hand towel and the cap to the lotion was dirty. Initially, I cleaned with clorox wipes and alcohol spray that I brought from home. I always clean and disinfect my room before using and bring my own linens. There was hair on the mattress cover and bathroom floor, mold on the luggage bench, and most of the counter spaces were sticky, as well as the remote and phone. I cleaned everything. After I cleaned and changed the bedding, it was better. We were given bug spray, which worked for a day, then the bugs returned and this time they were on the headboard, wall behind bed , box spring by the headboard, and side tables. We woke up in the middle of the night and found some on our phones and felt like they were on our hands/heads. We sprayed again with the alcohol. Cleaned the bed and finally went back to sleep. Got more bug spray the next day and sprayed again. We DID NOT have any open food of any kind out in the open. All snacks/food was kept in ziplock baggies in the hotel fridge. Location is not very convenient. It's kind of. Everything is within 20-30 minutes driving. But you can only make a right turn out onto the main road and have to drive .25 miles before making a u-turn if you need to go the other direction. There are restaurants near and fast food close by. But the hotel is off the main road and shares a parking lot with another hotel that looks abandoned.

Let me start by saying I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the front desk people are fantastic. The head of maintenance is an egomaniac that probably struggles to change a light bulb. I have had lukewarm shower water for a week. In anticipation of another week here I asked if something could be done about the hot water, so the front desk manager Kerry said she would contact maintenance. Maintenance arrives and does not solve the issue and when I asked him about it gave me an angry look said “it’s because so many people are staying here” I have been here a week and have tested the shower in the middle of the night when it was not full and the water is lukewarm period. When I said this he glared at me turned around and walked away got in his AMG Mercedes and made it a point to snap his throttle on the way out. First off I have been in the trades for 30 years and I am a federal agent for 17 years specializing in Construction Analytics and this guy obviously does not know what he is doing. The solution will take some work but he did not even give me the chance to tell him. All unilever shower valves can be adjusted for a proper mix of hot and cold. Open the furthest faucet and turn the temp up on the boiler until you reach a functional temperature than you adjust all the faucets going back to the boiler presto even hot water in the showers throughout the hotel. Did I mention that the shower head in the room on top of dealing with a cold shower flops, I have to crotch under it to get wet. All of my issues with my stay are related to poor maintenance. The hotel is full now and I can’t change rooms. Needless to say the only reason I would ever consider staying here again is because of the great front desk staff, But I will likely stay at a Hilton or a Marriott. Unfortunately the Buck stops at the person who hired this character. My suggestion is stay elsewhere! Yes I look forward to a hot shower at the end of a long day it ranks up there second only to a comfortable bed which they have in spades, so if a comfortable bed and a cold shower meets your needs this is the place. I have to add the “maintenance lead” is parading his AMG Benz angle parked under the main awning like he is to good to park in a space and obviously in a big hurry not to fix anything, tells me everything I need to know about him. The fact this poor excuse of a maintenance lead does not understand the basic fundamentals of a multi faucet large building is shocking. This hotel has maintenance issues and it’s...
