Let me start by saying I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the front desk people are fantastic. The head of maintenance is an egomaniac that probably struggles to change a light bulb. I have had lukewarm shower water for a week. In anticipation of another week here I asked if something could be done about the hot water, so the front desk manager Kerry said she would contact maintenance. Maintenance arrives and does not solve the issue and when I asked him about it gave me an angry look said “it’s because so many people are staying here” I have been here a week and have tested the shower in the middle of the night when it was not full and the water is lukewarm period. When I said this he glared at me turned around and walked away got in his AMG Mercedes and made it a point to snap his throttle on the way out. First off I have been in the trades for 30 years and I am a federal agent for 17 years specializing in Construction Analytics and this guy obviously does not know what he is doing. The solution will take some work but he did not even give me the chance to tell him. All unilever shower valves can be adjusted for a proper mix of hot and cold. Open the furthest faucet and turn the temp up on the boiler until you reach a functional temperature than you adjust all the faucets going back to the boiler presto even hot water in the showers throughout the hotel. Did I mention that the shower head in the room on top of dealing with a cold shower flops, I have to crotch under it to get wet. All of my issues with my stay are related to poor maintenance. The hotel is full now and I can’t change rooms. Needless to say the only reason I would ever consider staying here again is because of the great front desk staff, But I will likely stay at a Hilton or a Marriott. Unfortunately the Buck stops at the person who hired this character. My suggestion is stay elsewhere! Yes I look forward to a hot shower at the end of a long day it ranks up there second only to a comfortable bed which they have in spades, so if a comfortable bed and a cold shower meets your needs this is the place. I have to add the “maintenance lead” is parading his AMG Benz angle parked under the main awning like he is to good to park in a space and obviously in a big hurry not to fix anything, tells me everything I need to know about him. The fact this poor excuse of a maintenance lead does not understand the basic fundamentals of a multi faucet large building is shocking. This hotel has maintenance issues and it’s...

Read moreWe stayed here about 4 nights. Spent $200/night on a Holiday Inn, because hotels just feel justified charging outrageous rates for lackluster, old hotels. The room was decent enough, but you could hear all the noise/racket from everyone going in and out of their rooms on the first floor, and of their kids squealing and making noise. I'd have chosen another floor if I had known that, but I think we were stuck anyway because they were booked. The breakfast bar had mostly stocked items, but there should have been better eggs and actual, fresh creamer for the coffee at $200/night.
The picture I provided was indicative of most of the hotel staff at ALL the hotels we stayed at in Florida that week. Outside smoking, when they should have been at the front desk. The breakfast staff concentrating on personal conversations with the guests for hours on end, ignoring their responsibilities to take care of the food/service for others (this was at a different hotel, I believe a Hampton Inn, but indicative of the lackluster customer service on the whole). I watched the lady in the picture never actually BE at the front desk, and saw several guests have to wait for her to be done with her (constant) cigarette breaks before coming back into the hotel to help them. POOR SERVICE... Can't believe the hotel managers allow this to happen.
The shower stall constantly leaked water, making the bathroom floor treacherous to navigate. This leakage was obviously happening a LONG time, due to the wall having to be repaired multiple times along the way, and the tile grout in the corners black from mold. Makes one wonder why they wouldn't get better shower curtains that were not porous and better able to keep the water in the shower, where it belonged.
This particular location, on Hotel Road was difficult to get to, partly due to the maze of twists and turns you have to perform to get to Hotel Rd, from anywhere on the main road. This is (seemingly) due to Florida's decision to build roads and turns with NO ACCESS, except from one location. There should have been a turnout in the road instead of having to U-turn further out, anytime you're trying to get to the hotel.
Overall, an expensive stay in...
