The only reason I come here is out of proximity and necessity. When I come by I usually just grab what I need and leave. Fairly regularly, they are out of the particular brand and size of cat litter that I need which is very inconvenient as PetSmart is the only pet store who carries it and the next nearest one is almost 30 miles away.
Today in particular, I placed an online order for pick-up. I went inside and waited at the designated area and waited patiently as the register cashiers helped other customers. Once the lines were depleted, one of the cashiers left her register (wearing a red shirt with curly dark hair) and I foolishly thought she would assist me. Instead, she approached the employee who had just entered the store with at least 9 kittens all stuffed in one plastic tub. They began talking while another employee (bald man, very tall) walked up, made direct eye contact with me, and then ignored me in favor of the tub of kittens.
The employee with the kittens vocally admitted that the animals had "an accident" on the way over which was pungent enough to make the employee in red run off gagging and holding her nose. There was absolutely no urgency in any of these employees to get these animals into a bath or a clean space which is a horrible way to treat any animal.
After about 15 min of waiting patiently, I approached them and asked for my order as they had all seen me standing there clearly underneath the pick-up sign. Each of them looked at me with hesitation and an attitude as if I was the one being rude. The man collected my order and the other two just scattered. At this point, the singular lane that was open was now 8 people deep and they all just left the one cashier to fend for herself.
Note: The cashier on register 1 during this time (3:45-4:00) was exceptional and working through the line as quickly and efficiently as possible. This particular cashier seemingly had downs; I only mention this detail because from an outside perspective, it looked as though these other employees were taking advantage of her presence and using that to avoid assisting the other customers in line.
Now, I don't know the dynamic behind all of these employees, however that is the message that was being delivered from an outside protective. Behaving this way toward any employee is unacceptable and unfair, but this situation is...
Read moreI was in the store today 07/02 to pick up some food for my doggie and I stopped by the grooming area to see the cute dogs getting pampered. Unfortunately what I witnessed was not at all pleasing!! I saw 2 of the groomers mistreating the dogs they were working on! I only caught the name of one -Hannah- she was working on a small black and white shitzu the other had her hair dyed blue on the front and was working on a beautiful white dog medium sized. Both doggies looked so stressed and scared! These 2 groomers were handling those cuties so aggressively. I witnessed Hannah grabbing the shitzu hard by his front leg and since the dog was moving she yelled âstop bitchâ at it and continued trimming the poor thing pulling on it hard because the poor thing was trying to get away from her since im pretty sure it was uncomfortable and scared! The other girl blue haired one, that one was worse!! The poor white dog was barking and whining because she was combing him so hard!! She was using the typical metal comb the use to untangle their hair and she was doing this so hard into his back and pulling on his knots the poor doggie was whining and was trying to get out of her grip, he almost got tangled on the leash! I never leave reviews neither negative or positive on anything, but I am a dog mom and I truly love all types of doggies. So today after seeing what i did, I felt I had to say something! Thankfully i have a short haired dog who does not need that kind of grooming. If she did though, I would never ever take my doggie there especially with one of those 2 girls! They shouldn't be working as groomers! I hope those cuties didn't end up with cuts or bruises. Petsmart needs to be more diligent and careful in their...
Read moreWhen we were first thinking about taking our baby boy to Petsmart we read horrible reviews; decided that this could not be true so we took our precious puppy...One of the cashiers recommended the groomer and for a year and a half we took him there. He was always three hours or so and we wondered why it took so long. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS ANIMAL THERE. The last time we took him he had been there over three hours so we went to the store and looked through the glass window and found her "just finishing up". We walked around the store, went back fifteen minute and we wasn't up on the table. So, we went in only to find him tied to a table sitting in dog hair--his and who knows what other animals. When he saw us, he looked up as if to say "why am I tied to this table". The groomer saw us and said he is not ready, I didn't call you and I have been working on him for three and a half hours--he was knotted all over. We don't believe he was knotted because the day before I had combed every inch we a flea comb. All is "report cards" from the groomer had said he was a great shape. We let her finish, took him out and for some stupid reason I gave her the usual tip. We looked at each other and said never again. We wonder what he had gone through in those eighteen months. He now goes to a private groomer--two ladies in the shop. They rarely put the dogs in a cage and are finished in a hour and a half. Much better clip, easier on the dog and us. And it is $10 less. Please don't take your dog here. I have never written a review that was negative to a business. This is 100% accurate. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sorry, Petsmart but you need to change your...
