I would love to rate this place well, but I just can't. It's obviously recently remodeled. Looks great. The room was well appointed and appeared really clean, but it SMELLED! I'm not normally one to complain, but the customer service was pretty awful in this case. They graciously allowed me to check in early. I dropped my bags in my room and noticed the 'off' odor (like gymsocks, dirty clothes and I don't even know what?). I thought it was maybe because the a/c hadn't been running... So, I turned on the a/c, set my things on the table and left for a meeting. I didn't return to my room until around 8 pm. I was, again, hit with the awful smell... So, I reluctantly called the front desk. The woman stated that she would like to smell it herself, so she would be right up. When she reached my room, she agreed that it smelled, blamed it on my not having the a/c on (even after I told it had been on for almost 8 hrs) and proceeded to place bounce dryer sheets in the a/c vents... Because they "didn't have any more air fresheners". Are you kidding me?
I had a long day of traveling and was exhausted. I gave up for the night and just slept with the stink.
The following day, on my way back from my meeting, I stopped by the front desk and informed them that I still had a smelly room. The clerk was sure that they maintenance would have fixed it... Again, the front desk clerk accompanied me to my room. This new clerk agreed that it smelled and laughed that the other clerk would put dryer sheets in the a/c unit.
She told me that she would talk with the GM and asked how long I was staying. When I told her I was checking out the next day, she just acted like it was too late then..
Absolutely...
Read moreThis place gives Hampton Inn a bad name. I stayed there 3 months ago and I'm still bitter about the poor management at this hotel. Prior to checking into room I asked to see it. I only glanced at room and everything seemed to be okay, until I was IN the room.... There was only 1 light working in bathroom, light sockets sticking out of the h7tch, no light bulb in lamp, NO DESK in room. Debris all over back door/back exit. I was told the hotel was under construction but it was a Saturday night and there was no excuse for the garbage and debris that could have easily been cleaned by housekeeping had management asked them to do so. The back door would not secure properly causing a safety concerns, I did not sleep well as I was in the room right next to the exit door! Front desk Shelly blurted out my room number when checking me in. The girls at the desk were very nice but they work for a man (Sanjay Patel) who couldn't care less about your stay once he has your hard earned money in his hands. Smh. I attempted to address these issues with him, he was totally insensitive and repeatedly told me that because I had "looked at the room" before paying for it that means all was well. If he continues on this path Hampton Inn will eventually sever their contract with him. This review is to let ALL know that if you stay at this hotel and anything goes wrong you will most definitely receive a sorry about your luck attitude and if you are lucky he just might offer you enough reward points equivalent to about 20% toward a nights stay. There is a nice Holiday Inn in Davenport.....PLEASE...
Read moreRoom and hotel property are fine. The check in was poor, check in person was not professional (night staff). When I arrived the female front desk person was over in the breakfast area watching tv and eating food/snacks. The table in front of her was messy with the food & snacks. Not a good look. She gets up and walks over. Her uniform is sloppily worn, shirt half tucked in and half coming out. I wasn't greeted professionally. After giving my name etc., she seemed to have some troubles with the computer or my reservation. I said to her "you look confused.....is there a problem with my reservation?" She said "I'm always confused." We finished up the check in and I went to my room.
This stay was booked with POINTS. Two days later I check my Credit Card statement and I see that I was charged fully for the room! I've tried to get this corrected by the Manager (Sanjay) with no luck. They're telling me I booked a "Points & Money" stay....which I did not. I checked my confirmation email and it says total for stay is 30,000 points. Nothing in my emails mentions my reservation was booked with the "Points & Money" option.
This correction should be simple. I wanted a room on POINTS. Seems like it would be simple to refund the charge to my credit card and get the points from Hilton. But somehow this seems impossible once the stay is over. It shouldn't be.
I have disputed the charge with AMEX who is always awesome. They refund the charge while they investigate it. I've also filed a dispute with Hilton Honors. I will Update this review...
