Horrible hospitality. Greedy. I was evacuated for hurricane Idalia 🌀 and stayed the 1st night with real issues. No, a/c, they left me w in the heat for 3 hrs, then I had to call down again and explain what was going on a2nd time. The 1st time maintenance man came up, looked thermostat, then said, " Oh, I gotta go up on the roof and reset it." OK, no worries, so you would think. Another hour goes by, so I called again as I'm dripping sweat like a banshee. They say oh let me call the maintenance man." I said he already was called and was supposed to be on the roof fixing it. She says, "Oh wait, he's right here in the lobby." I hear her ask him and what was going on with my rooms a/c, and he says, " Oh, he's gonna need a different room," so let's think about this for a minute. How long do you think they would have left me in that room w/o ANY A/C? Remember, now I'm in FLORIDA! I'm forcibly removed from my own home for the evacuation due to the hurricane. I'm not on vacation. So they were never going to switch my room unless I called back down there. That is so beyond bad service that unless you have been to Florida in August in a room w/o a/c, you can't even imagine this. If you have been here in mid-August, you already know that this is borderline criminal. Ok, so this is the first absolutely disgusting hospitality. It gets worse than that, believe it or not. So the next day, the hurricane passed the area I live in, but in order to get home, I have to go across a bridge that is not going to be opened until the next day. So, I can't go home. So, I have just enough money to pay for the room and theyvAlready have my deposit so I'm good. So you would think right? Well, I call down to book it again and theyvsay " oh since it's a new Reservation, you have to pay the deposit again! What? They say that's policy! Are you freaking kidding me? I've stayed at lots of Hotels over the years and this is never once been the case. Once you have a deposit, just hold it until check out! No sir this is OUR policy. So, I say, Couldn't you please make an exception today seeing how I definitely don't want to stay here. I literally can not go to my house. Only way is to go over the Skyway bridge and it's closed? No sir we can't change policy. Are you kidding me? This hotel is that greedy and that unsympathetic to the people of their community! Like I said it got even worse. Picture what I've said in your head for 1 second and think how epically screwed up this is by a business. So let's break down what's really going on here. They knew that there were still a lit of people evacuated and that they could raise the price of the room by 30 or 40 dollars and that's truly why they did this. So in order to make a few extra $ they're willing to force someone to have to sleep in their car during a freaking hurricane!! Disgraceful disgusting totally un concerned with another human being. Before I do a recap I want to make sure everyone understands how deposits work on debit cards. So I did have enough to pay the room again, but I didn't have enough for another deposit and yes I got my deposit back, but not for a week and a half later. Every hotel in Flirida charges a deposit. So im screwed on getting a room ANYWHERE! HAD TO SLEEP IN MY CAR DURING A HURRICANE!! So quick recap. 1st cops knock on my front door say you have to leave immediately!! I pack a few things, mind u this is a Tuesday and I get paid Thursday and live paycheck to paycheck like a lot folks. So I have hardly any money yet I'm forced out of my house. So by this time hotel within 50 or 60 miles are completely full so I have to spend more $ on fuel and food and the closest room I could find that I could afford was all the way in Kissimmee which is about 75 miles away. Remember gas 150 miles round trip. So I finally get out there around 5 or 530p.m. So I'm sitting in this room w/ no air conditioner until close to 9 p.m. that I just paid $80 after resort fees and taxes. There's NO mention of any sort of refund comp for this horrible experience of...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst hotel stay I have ever had. The building we stayed in, the third one, should have been condemned. To be clear, I only stayed here because of absolute need due to an evacuation order and the lack of room availability anywhere else. The grounds: The parking lot flooded, a lot. It flooded a ton more when the storm blew through. When we arrived to check in, the parking lot outside the office was flooded so much that I had to wade through almost a foot of water just to go check in. The water level was over the sidewalk for half the third building later that evening. The building: Neither of the doors securing the building from non registered guests was locked. The second floor door was flailing in the hurricane winds all night banging into the walkway handrail and slamming shut on its frame. I am very surprised the glass did not break in the door. Someone tied a sheet to it during the middle of the night, securing it to the handrail to prevent it from slamming shut. Several of the rooms were out of service with missing door handles and door hardware. These doors also flailed and slammed throughout the night constantly. The common area hall carpet was damp and even had holes in places. A rope that was knotted and tied in almost a noose shape was hanging from the roof of the building and also flailed in the winds. The rope was banging on our window for a short time before it blew up to the roof and snagged on something up there. The window film at the end of the building near the stair well was partially removed by vandals and the scraps were on the floor. A homeless person was sleeping in this area in a plastic lawn chair when we were leaving the next morning. Securing the building would have prevented this. The room: The bathroom floor was constantly moist from the warm moist air coming into the room from the hall way from under the room door. The floor remained moist our entire stay due to the cold setting of the AC combined with the moist outside air coming into the room. The shower fixture was corroded and unkempt. The tub stopper was heavily corroded and appeared to be completely non functional. It even had hair on it and appeared like it had not been cleaned. It actually looked like it was recovered from a sunken ship. The room carpet had a strange moist, sticky, earthy feel to it, almost as if it were wet recently and was still barely moist. It remained that texture and feeling the entire night. The room had a desk, but no chairs. This was a room with two beds clearly setup for multiple guests. We reserved the room for four people. It was clearly known what our needs were. The beds only had two pillows each with no extra linens in the room. This was a first for me when booking a room for multiple people. The outside of the window was dirty and the window was completely unlocked when we first entered the room. The privacy bolt that is mounted to the frame was missing, only the peg half on the door itself was there (the U shaped part that swings over the door part was missing). The locking mechanism on the main room door was missing at least one screw and the door had about a quarter inch of play when shut and locked. This provided a wonderful banging and clanging sound that sounded like someone was trying to break down the door as the wind gusted through the building hall throughout the night. I stuffed a folded piece of cardboard from a pizza box into the door frame closure near the locking mechanism to remove this play and quiet the noise. The door had a large uninsulated gap at the bottom that gushed with outside air from the hallway, which was already getting air from outside the building due to the unsecure doors. This warm moist air could be felt all the way across the room when the outside wind was gusting. We could even smell when the other guests were smoking marijuana, which happened...
Read moreMy stay in the Ramada in Davenport orlando was a living nightmare. We had issues from the beginning not to mention when i tried to complain to the front desk about many issues purchase room had, they offered us another room which was #201 which by the way reeked of mold, he stated the tv works so you and your pregnant wife and kids can stay in this room. That alone is a serious hazardous issue & a major health issue, which we did not stay in and went back to our broken down room #211 the t.v eventually started working the following day so we were basically spending the 1st night in the room staring at the walls that were staind with God knows what and the sad part is the kids could not do anything, or entertain them selves with out watching TV even though we paid in full for a full serviced room that was not what we received nor given. The air conditioning unit in our room had 1 out of the 4 vents blowing air since the others were so clogged up with dust & dirt the air could not blow through it.The sink counter in the room had a huge Crack right in the front of it that the kids could have gotten cut or scraped on it if they were to rub against it and it was held up by a screw that was drilled in from the top of it to hold it in place as shown in the pictures. the drain in the bathtub to hold water and fill it or let it drain was broken, the water in the tub when showering would not drain therefore we had to shower and have dirty water up over the ankles and higher depending on how long the shower would take but the hotel had no Hot water the bath in after running the water on all the way hot for over 10 minutes it got warm but no more than that wich I found out it was not just my room when checking out since another lady was complaining to the manager about it at check out and the manager laughed and said we should have giving it more time to heat up. the shower handle to turn the water on was completely loose when turned it actually fell of the wall when I was turning it. there was dark brown stains on the shower curtain hope it was not feces. The water in the sink where the counter had a crack in it made a loud disturbing noise as the water that came out of it was white and pasty as it came out the sink disgustingly I had to stop my youngest child as he tried to drink from it, thankfully I stopped him before he did because he would have gotten severely sick if he did. Also the shower head would not move when I tried to set it to shower and it was only spraying water directly on the shower wall so we had to bath up against the wall for the water to wash us when trying to move it away it would not guessing from the rust behind the wall. I spoke to the hotel attendant and showed him all these problems the first night and told him to call the hotel manager and he said yeah sure Okay and laughed then walked away from the room. the following day I approached him about it to see what the manager said about the situation and how it would be fixed and he told me nothing since he did not call him to relay the message at all nor did he document it in the system, for it to be notated. The locking mechanism on the exterior doors to get in the hotel with the key card did not work and are kept unlocked so any random person could walk in to it at any given time to do as they like. This need to be reported to the better business Bureau and a speacial hazmat matter team to come into the facility and check for up to date permits as I'm sure they are not the hotel must be shut down and closed to be condemned until further inspection as it is quickly falling apart and decaying. Among many other issues I saw at this hotel these are the ones that need to be looked in to first as a...
