This was my 1st time to Home Goods. I went to the store at Howe bout Arden. It was very busy and the store is a bit of a clusterfluff. Stuff EVERYWHERE. I was overwhelmed. It felt a bit like shopping at Marshalls but with a LOT more home products. I tried to stroll the isles but became flushed and very warm. It is a very warm day today but I felt very uncomfortablly warm inside the store. I had to sit down several times. I found a few bathroom knickknacks and a rug for my sons room however the rug was not priced. There was an associate nearby who helped me get thenrug priced and she even carried it up to the register for me, which was nice. While I waited in line she priced and tagged it and when it wasnrung ulnshe placed it in my cart. She was very helpful. This young lady deserves 5 stars for her dedication to excellent service. The store itself has some issues and I also overheard a seemingly abrasive manager scolding her staff member. The state of the store and the managers abrasive manner is probably what game me the feeling of being in a Marshalls. (At least Marshalls has great deals on shoes!!!) Anyway, I am a bargain shopper so I will probably be back but try a different store. The associate who helped me was a solid 5 stars but the store was maybe a 2, so I gave 3. Let's see if they can change my mind for the better when I happen to...
Read moreI have been a regular shopper at HomeGoods for several years and I've spent a small fortune redecorating my home with their merchandise. Went to the store at Howbout Arden in Sacramento this week and saw a green fretwork cabinet in front of the store with a big pink tag priced at $229, I had to have it, except it was damaged and scratched across the front. Asked if they had others to choose from, the clerk said no but called the EG store. Unfortunately they didn't have another either. Asked for a discount on the damaged piece which the clerk was willing to give, but she then noticed the regular smaller price tag said $299. She said she couldn't sell me the cabinet for $229 because it was mis-marked and she would have to sell it to me for the higher price. We asked to speak to a manager who was not at all customer friendly. She snatched the pink sale tag away, said sorry but the item was priced at $299 and that was the price. I probably would have paid the higher price but the whole experience was a big turn off and not at all customer friendly. Since when does a retailer not honor the prices on their tags? I don't think I'll be shopping at...
