My grandmother introduced me to Jeppi nut and Candy. When they were Located on Gay Street, Baltimore Maryland we used to catch the street car down to gay Street old town mall back then. She would purchase what was called Christmas candy or Hard candy from them. Peanuts, Almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, and many other varieties of nuts and candies, they sold. And a lot of other confectionaries, fresh, roasted peanuts, when you walked Up to the building you could smell the hot roasted peanuts, and Mini other varieties of roasted nuts. They even did hot Roasted Chestnut During those timesā¦. if Iām not mistaken, they were the same vendors that used to do the hot peanuts and chestnuts outside of Lexington market during that time. We also used to supply the peanuts for the animals at the Baltimore Maryland zoo for the animals the original owner donāt recall his name at this time but I can see his face as if it was yesterday he brought a very beautiful resource to Maryland thank you JEPPI Nut and candy. For the decades of service.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I went back and it was a MUCH better experience. The person at the counter (different girl) was MUCH more pleasant, friendly and helpful. I'm adding more stars because the ATTITUDES in the place presented a better atmosphere.
Original: I used to love this place. Have been going since they were downtown. No more. They had almost NO stock. I wanted to ask if certain items were coming in and the young lady was ...not very helpful. I asked if they might have some stock in the back and she told me "everybody's busy" ( newsflash, I'm a customer and y'all sell stuff ...get it?). I also got the impression she didn't quite understand me. I wound up speaking to no one. Bought nothing and left. Worst experience ever at Jeppi which sucks but the new people are ...not very friendly. Oh well, have y'all been to the new store...

They only had holiday tins for sale and approx $5.99 for the empty tin (little pricey I thought since Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree have similar for at least 1/2 that price). Thought prices for specific nut varieties on chalkboard behind register was very hard to read. Also surprised that they didn't promote or have any signage about gift certificates for...
