I am truly perplexed by such a small number of negative reviews. This community is a sham, in every way imaginable and "Luxury" it absolutely is not.
Rent - EXTREMELY high for the area; easily could've gotten an apartment in Downtown Tampa with a doorman and nicer views, or at least actual security and no dog poop.
Noise - OUTRAGEOUS! I can hear every conversation my neighbors have on all sides, up and down, as well as when they spank the toddler and beat the dog. Not to mention, every time they slam their door, which happens to be every 2-3 minutes like a woman having labor contractions, and especially because there are at least 6 residents in the apartment. EVERY SINGLE TIME their door slams, my walls shake and it almost sounds like it's MY door. Overall the levels of noise are insane - music, alarm clocks, toilets flushing, cabinets closing. I recognize this is an apartment, but there are concessions that should've been made, like insulation or thicker walls at the very least.
Cleanliness - There are mounds of dog feces all over the complex. I'm not concerned with people having large dogs in apartments, I couldn't care less, but then they leave their business behind and it looks like a horse came through, it's a bit of an inconvenience when I have to monitor each and every step so I don't track dog poop into my apartment/car.
Valet Trash - Is a joke. For the quality of collection, it should be included in the rent, not an additional charge. Not only do they pick and choose what they take, they often leave a mess behind. And this is apart from the compactor and recycling areas OVERFLOWING with a diverse pile of trash often to include furniture, vacuum cleaners, actual trash bags and the universe only knows what else each and every weekend. I live right near this area (in what I like to call 'the projects') and am acosted by odor and insects anytime I get into my car on the weekends. It's absolutely absurd for a "Luxury Community".
Security - The back gate to Phase 1 is broken, and has been for over a week. This is not the first occasion during which the gate has been broken for several consecutive days. Aside from the fact that Lantower Brandon is advertised as a "Gated Community", that particular gate being nonfunctioning poses a very specific security threat. I have personally been gawked at and yelled at from hotel guests in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable, and they are able to simply walk right in and have direct access to me. As a single resident, who lives in the back of the complex, this is a major concern.
Discrimination - There are several residents with a gate remote to Phase 1, and I know this because I've watched several cars come through and the gate opens way sooner than mine does with a car sticker. I physically walked into the office and asked for a remote, and Hannah specifically told me no. I followed up my request by asking if there are some residents who do have remotes and she disgregarded my question and said, "The car sticker works just fine". If we're all residents in the same "luxury", half-"gated" community paying the same rent, we deserve the same amenities. Period.
Key Fob Access - Only providing one complimentary fob for an apartment is ridiculous.
Lost/Stolen Packages - This happens all the time. I have personally already lost 3 packages that not only showed 'delivered' by the respective carriers, but Amazon took a picture of the package outside my door yet it was still missing when I got home. I happen to know based on the community wall posts that this happens all too often.
This is more of a personal gripe, but when I signed my lease, I was promised a $150 Target Gift Card if I signed the same day of my visit, which I did. Not only have I not received the gift card, but I've also e-mailed the office on more than one occasion and it still has not been addressed.
The bottom line, don't live here. Just take your money elsewhere, likely get more for less, and...
Read moreUPDATE: we’ve lived here for 9 months now and still feel the same about living here. Unhappy to find that just like in NY we have some not very kind neighbors. Some friendly people we wave to on walks though. But overall a reoccurring issue of dog poo on the stairs of our building has been annoying and disgraceful. We haven’t been happy with the change in pest control. This is a majorly important thing for this climate. We’ve finally had a chance to use the playground and find it underwhelming for little kids. The whole thing is designed for much older children, like 7 yrs. Their is plenty of room to add a few smaller kid things and it would be nice for them to add that. The pools are very well kept and we enjoy using them.
UPDATE: we've lived here just about 4 months! We are Disappointed that they no longer use the apartment life team. We had high hopes for feeling like we were part of a community during this pandemic. And we don't feel like that here... YET.... The pandemic has definitely brought out the worst in some people. We definitely love the beach entry pool. It works so great with our small children and the pool area is pretty impressive and clean. Even though the playground isn't open yet, it definitely gets flooded often. I feel rubber tiles and a better drainage system should have really been done already considering there are tons of kids around here. We still LOVE the management staff. They are doing such a great job and that really matters to us! Overall, we're happy we moved into Lantower. And look forward to our future here!
We moved in a month ago and overall we're very happy we moved here. Moving in from out of state was stressful enough and the amazing staff here have been nothing but supportive before and after our move. We love how maintained this complex is. With any apartment complex there are pros and cons. Here's an honest list from my anecdotal experience. Pros: They use an aMAZing Apartment Life team, Janice and Roberto. This was a major factor for us moving. We want to live in a community, know our neighbors and feel connected. Even being on lock down with covid 19, we've had fun with their virtual events. And look forward to more!! I can't even imagine going through this pandemic without having them. Amazing office and maintenance staff!!! Tiffany is so sweet and super helpful. We love Matt and he seems to have such patience for all of my questions!! They use an online community page sort of like a Facebook. Again, this was a major factor for us choosing a place to live. We wanted to be in connection with our neighbors. Cons: Not enough parking. Building materials used for construction are of low quality. Our packages were stolen from our door the very first week we moved in. Some neighbors don't pick up after their dogs. I've found dog droppings on the stairs more than once, and we've only been here a month. We did have a few roaches find their way into our apartment the very first week. The staff were incredibly helpful and they have pest control. Having lived in NYC, we know that there is no way to rid this world of bugs or rodents. However, we decided we wanted to switch apartments and the staff was amazing in helping us make that happen. We've had no pest issue at all in our new apartment.
Overall, you'll find things similar to other apartment living complaints. Upstairs neighbors walk like elephants, enjoy their evenings with music and fun while you want quiet, you can't always park right by your door, maintenance doesn't drop everything and show up in 5 minutes when you have a request. ( Although every request we've had has been taken care of within 2 days, I think that's...
Read moreUpdated Oct 2020 - never received a call from the leasing company.
Would never attempt to lease here again. Last fall I was misled by Tiffany Wiese that I would be co-leasing with my partner at the time. At move-in day, I was being rushed to sign a lease without review as I was on a flight. Upon close inspection of the lease I noticed I was listed as a "co-occupant" rather than full rights as a "co-lesee" Keep in mind they both had ran and used my credit and background check. TO THIS DAY I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY I WAS LISTED AS AN OCCUPANT WHEN MY CREDIT WAS RAN AND I APPLIED AS A CO-LEESE. As I was not flying into Florida until that afternoon, someone in the office removed me from the lease and managed to give my partner the keys without me signing the lease. Once we were moved in, I waited to get the updated lease from them.... Never got the link emailed. 2 weeks go by and I call to locate the finalizing of me signing the lease. I talked to Matt in the office who immediately said let me talk to Tiffany and call you back. Couple minutes go by and I get an email from Tiffany URGING me (like I hadn't been waiting on her lol must have forgotten about our whole incompleted lease after she got that commission 🥴) to sign and said she had no idea what happened to me being listed as co-occupant rather than co-lesee. I RECEIVED A UPDATED LEASE FROM TIFFANY WITH ME LISTED PROPERLY AS CO-LESEE. This part: Not knowing who to believe at this point I DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE and I move back to Texas. Now Tiffany realizes shes got an incomplete lease and some explaining to do.. 3 months later I'm talking to my ex and ask him what happened with the lease and he says, "Tiffany in the office told me you were denied on the lease anyways..." Funny thing is I make more money than my ex and have perfect renter history and have leased for 5+ years at time UNLIKE my ex whose credit on the other hand was shot, horrible, owed IRS etc. 🤔🤔🤔 should I mention I was approved on the first lease we applied to at another property in Tampa 2 weeks earlier - NO ISSUES WITH MY CREDIT OR BG. We ended up not liking the location of that property (looking from Texas) so after having my background and credit ran for two properties I never leased at, the place i leased from when I came back to Texas 2 weeks later approved AGAIN with no issues, no questions about the other applications inquired on my credit/ BG and more telling - NO DEPOSIT... should I also mention the fact that AFTER moving back to TX I NEVER BEING TOLD OR CALLED OR CONTACTED OR INFORMED I WAS "DENIED by ANYONE at Lantower Brandon Crossings. You should be ashamed of yourselves and technically you should have re-ran his application BY HIMSELF because you know damn well my application was approved and if I had been denied, you would've called me or told me. Don't lease here unless you want the bait and switch. I won't even begin to tell you how thin the walls are and parking was horrendous, homeless people camp outside the vacant parking lot, stolen vehicle drop spot, etc. Definitely didn't feel safe,...
