We just returned from our family vacation to Orlando, and I didn’t want too much time to pass before sharing our wonderful experience at the Orlando Museum of Illusions. As a mom of a child on the autism spectrum, I’m always a bit cautious when it comes to new environments. They can be overwhelming, and not every place is set up to support or include families like ours. That’s why I was so pleasantly surprised not just by the engaging exhibits, but by the genuine warmth, patience, and inclusivity we experienced. A special thank you goes to Mr. Matt, the resident illusion expert, who went above and beyond. He didn’t just guide us through the museum; he connected with our entire family. He explained how the illusions worked, helped us capture fun family photos, and most importantly, took the time to make my son feel seen, and included. My son was absolutely thrilled. He hasn’t stopped talking about the magic tricks from the disappearing cards, the levitating rope, and especially that vanishing pen! He was smiling from ear to ear when Mr. Matt even shared how one trick worked and gave him a few cards to have and practice with. We spent over an hour exploring, laughing, and enjoying ourselves, and it never once felt rushed or impersonal. As a mom, I can’t recommend the Museum of Illusions enough. It didn’t feel like just another tourist stop—it felt like a place where joy and connection were truly part of the experience. Thank you for the memories, the kindness,...

Museum of Illusions Orlando - this was so-so. Look for ticket discounts. We (2 adults and a 15 year old) got through in about 30 minutes, in part because it was too crowded to take time with all the illusions. There were kids running around everywhere b/c parents were not controlling them, so that's poor parenting, not on the museum. I get they are excited, but c’mon. The other thing I didn't understand was that they recommend purchasing in advance b/c supposedly they only let a certain amount of people in every 20 minutes, but this was not the case from what we observed. We purchased tickets over the computer for a specific time. When we got there, it was already crowded, and they were in the process of admitting two more large groups of people buying tickets on the spot. Next, the illusions themselves. Many are pictures on the wall, nothing that you probably haven’t seen in various coffee-table books of illusions. The few that you physically needed to do mostly involved mirrors positioned at various angles, so anyone who has taken a physics class in high school knew those. With some others, you need to take a picture to see the illusion. Overall it was mostly disappointing for us, but I can see how younger kids would like it more. EDITED & UPDATE: the museum staff contacted me with a solution, so one star is added for great customer service and...

I recently visited the Museum of Illusions in Orlando, and I must say, it was an interesting experience. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars for several reasons. Firstly, the museum boasts a wide array of optical illusions, but there were a few that I found to be a bit cheesy and not as captivating as I had hoped. While some illusions left me in awe, others fell short of my expectations. Another aspect that contributed to my rating was the inconsistency in the service provided by the staff. Some employees were incredibly helpful and eager to explain the illusions and provide guidance, which enhanced our visit. However, there were instances where we encountered staff members who seemed disinterested and unapproachable - it left me feeling like I was bothering them when. One suggestion for improvement would be to have staff members offer to take photos for visitors. This small gesture would have added to the overall experience, making it more convenient and memorable. Despite these minor setbacks, the Museum of Illusions in Orlando is still a unique and enjoyable attraction. It's a fun place to explore with friends and family, and it offers a variety of mind-bending experiences that can spark interesting conversations. While it may have its flaws, the museum is definitely worth a visit for those seeking a dose of optical trickery and...
