I have a lot of mixed emotions about this place. The very first time that i went there to sell my stuff, I had a whole laundry basket full of clothes (about 30-40 pieces) only waited about 20 minutes before they were done with my items. They gave me $145 for the 30 items (approximately) that they bought from me. I obviously was very surprised and very happy! Most of my stuff was just some old Hollister stuff (since i work there) with a few AnF jeans and other nice clothes that i never wore. The people that were there that day were very friendly and didn't seem like they were annoyed. They encouraged me to bring back more stuff since what i had was so great, so i did. The second time i went in, i had only maybe a half of the same laundry basket full of clothes (about 25 items) and they gave me another $80 for the 15 things they took. Which i was satisfied with. On the other hand, the employees this time weren't as friendly, but still generally nice. My friend came along with me that day too, but they only took about 5 of her items and gave her $30, even though she had twice as many items as i did and her stuff was newer. I figured since i scored so well the first two times that i went in, i should try it again. I went through all of my old stuff from when i moved down here to florida, and brought in another full basket, but this time was the worst experience of the three. The girls working were not friendly at all, and if i didn't already know how their selling system worked, i probably would have just been standing there for awhile confused without being helped. They only took two things out of the whole basket of great items, and gave me $7. But they did seem pretty busy, so i wasn't too surprised.
Each store has a certain spending limit that they can use everyday to buy people's clothes, obviously to prevent them from going bankrupt, and that's why they're so stingy with what they choose. My advice is not to expect such a great amount. When i went in the first time, i only expected to get maybe $25 out of it, and instead i got $145. But, it also depends on who is working and possibly their attitude towards their job. I could tell that the girls who really looked like their work was the last place they wanted to be at were gonna be the lazy ones who were rude and most likely just didn't feel like going through all of your things to really pick out the good ones. Anyways, there were 2 positive experiences and 1 negative for me. It's just a game of chance. I'll...
Read moreI came in right before the cut off(11:30am) received a warm greeting from a woman who was beyond helpful and informative with a first time seller. I wish I could give her 5 stars! She let me know it would be 3 hours. I told her I would come back. After 4 hours I never received a message but I went back and noticed that my bag was the next one up. I browsed the store, and I went back to check in with the lady who was going through my bag just to chat and learn more. I walked in knowing that some of my stuff might not meet the fashion standards that was a risk I was willing to take. The woman going through my bags chatted with me while I looked at other things that I planned to buy. After I exhausted myself from looking, I kind of just stood there as she was nearly close to completing by bag. I was greeted by a woman named Juno who may be an authoritarian figure who clearly hates her job. She let me know of a store policy unbeknownst to me that I could not stand at the counter after I stayed there and chatted with the other associates casually for moments. She asked me to leave or keep looking. I told her it had been several hours and I have no desire to look or leave again. The woman who was going through my stuff, had two piles. A huge rejection pile, and a small buy stack. I said well it’s been some time and do not wish to shop or leave again so we can stop going thru the items and you can assess the things that you want to keep and I’ll just take the rest. She said well we don’t like any of your stuff so we’re not going to take any of it. I was confused and this was clearly an abuse of her powers. I was more than pleasant and me and my friend had things to buy! I would have been more content if they would have just rejected them all naturally. I was more than aware that this could be an issue. This woman made a conscious choice to waste my time and her colleagues, because I asked a question. Very rude and unprofessional , but EVERYBODY else was great. Juno should find a new job ASAP. Also, I’m not one to tell anybody how to do their job but the stuff that they were rejecting was the same stuff that was within the walls but in different sizes brand new with tags. Maybe they just discriminate against larger women at this location. I noticed that comment to be consistent, but I wanted to give them a fair chance. I will continue to sell my...
Read moreThis Plato’s Closet used to be my favourite, however it has been continuously disappointing me each time I go. We went today to try to sell some clothes in, and the lady that was helping us (whose name is Cherry, and apparently was in training), told us that it would be about an hour, and the cue time said 40minutes to an hour. She also told us to wait for a text message, so we could return in that period of time. After an hour, we went to check in on our stuff and placement in the line, and Ms Cherry was passive aggressive about answering some of our concerns. She said that we were going to get a text message, and we asked about seeing our names next in the cue machine, we were told by her that the machine was inaccurate. So we then waited an additional hour outside of the store, and there was no communication whatsoever, so we went inside of the store one more time to check in, and our clothes were not even attempted to being looked at. We asked another employee on the wait time, and she told us to come back tomorrow. We were just trying to get some simple service done from this company, and we were treated poorly, with bad attitude and bad communication. And we also lost almost two hours and a half of hour day. Very...
