Let's start by saying it was fairly empty. My girlfriend and I walked right in and obtained tickets at the concession stand without delay. The attended at the popcorn counter was helpful and attentive. Possibly, the highlight of the my night.
As we walked in to the movie theater we could not help but notice the foul musky scent of what appeared to be wet semi-moldy fabric that must have been coming from the floor rug. You know they smell, like wet dog and mildew. After a few minutes, you sort of adapt and accept the unpleasantries.
The theater itself must have had no more then 20 occupants, in a theater room that may very well hold 120 movie goers, as we sat to watch Halloween Ends. I must disclose that I'm a huge horror film fan so I was jittery with excitement and it had been some time since I visited the cinema.
As the film developed, we had a group of about 10 kids constantly moving around from seat to seat in what appeared to be a teenage duck-duck goose or a poor version of adolescent musical chairs.
The interruptions escalated as a group of approximately 5 girls dressed in wildly inappropriate clothing for their age group entered the room to greet their friends and remained standing in the center isle chatting loudly as if they were in school recess. The girls must have been no more then 15 and no less then 13 years young. They looked like they may have just returned from an audition at a risque cabaret with cut off jean shorts that appeared 3 sizes to small. Difficult to watch, coming from a middle of the road conservative dad of a teenage girl.
The girls were asked to please shut up, abruptly and with great concern in a firm voice. The teenage girls replied in laughter, you shup up. Full disclosure, there may have been some expletives here and there.
Long story short, and after I had to find an attendant, some of the teenagers where asked to exit but the bulk of the ramped up kids remained making the movie impossible to watch.
Needless to say, I exited the room and demanded a refund. Unable to locate my torn up paper tickets from the concession stand, Regal employees where not able to provide me with a refund and offered to give me a Regal gift card. However, after such a terrible experience, I declined and left promptly.
To wrap this up, the service was no more then good, the venue was offensively smelly and the teenage patrons were despicable.
Find a theater with assigned seating, industry standard cleaning crew, and tighter security. It would not surprise me if the rambunctious teenagers actually did not pay to enter the business considering security really did not remove all of them despite their failure to what appeared to be the production of movie tickets during the encounter I watched.
I hope this review is...
Read moreWhen it comes to Movie Theaters(of Regal Cinema) this is far my favorite, it has to do about the location and place of it. This place holds dear to my heart, but it does have it faults! Click more to see my in-depth review!
Location; Located in The Falls Mall its surrounded by wonderful shops and places to eat. Great way to burn time waiting for your movie to start or for after movie browsing leisure. This mall is truly gorgeous during the winter time and night time when they have lights shining the river and trees, perfect for any romantic movie night. However note that most stores close around 10-11pm so for you late movie goes nothing much to do. Also note that if you are under the age of 18 security will sometimes ask you to leave if you are not waiting for a pick-up or waiting for a movie to start.
Setting; Right outside the Theater is a nice plaza, which is the designated "Movies waiting zone". Now there aren't really any seats outside besides the surrounding places to eat ,but mostly everyone just sits and waits on the boarder of the few squares inside the plaza. Stepping inside you are presented with the typical copy and paste version of Regal Theaters, note that the bathroom in this one gets heavily used from non-movie goes. However it does always seem nice a clean! Just wish they brought back the cool round serving thing in the middle.
Staff; Its hard to truly review a staff of a establishment like this, you have to consider that most people who work here are going to be youngsters in High School - college. Typically you get kids that are chill and do there Job ,nothing more or less. When it comes to Rated R movies they typically do check for ID. I have always had my money returned and have all my problems sorted out if I ever did have one by the managers.
Crowd; The people who go here typically nice, on the weekend however this is the place most kids go to hang out! I was one of those kids ,that said most Friday and Saturday nights are unbearable due to the about of prepubescent teens that go. Besides that friendly crowd that will sometimes do hilarious remarks after a bad movie.
Comfortably; This movie theater has Stadium style seating, for me its not a big deal. However most people will find it less than ideal for a movie. The best seats are in the middle, and needed if you are going to watch a 3D movie(Sitting on the side typically doesn't mess up the 3D ,but can cause a headache). The seats are typically movie seats, with the arm rest being able to pull up. Which is great if you want to snuggle with your significant other.
With all being said and done, its a good Theater for a weekday movie ,but stay way expectantly Saturday night and most Friday nights if you don't want to...

"The unveiling should come in time for fans to enjoy the second half of the “Wicked” musical that’s set to open nationwide Nov. 21." - The Miami Herald. I've also attached a picture of the artist rendition of how the new theater is going to look like be advised, that although there's going to be stadium-style seating and everything's going to be fancy, the actual number of seats is going to be reduced in half I read.
I've been going here for the last 35 years. I like the Falls movie theater because it's within an outdoor mall. It's in a good area, you actually feel safe here, but always be vigilant. This is an older style movie theater, meaning that it doesn't have stadium seating, but with that being said, it does have elevated seating, so the person in front of you should not obstruct your view unless it's someone with a huge afro or dreads.
I noticed today, after watching King of Kings, the two of their movie theaters, we're being remodeled I guess. They covered the entire opening with plastic, so that way no one could enter. I don't know what they're actually doing their. I did not ask. The secret for the parking, is to park in the back of the mall... where the security parking lot is located, close to the lease management offices. When you park there, and there's usually plenty of parking, you can quickly access the movie theater. in my opinion, it's much better then parking in the front area where PF changes is. The temperature was very comfortable in there, the seats are actually very comfortable, they do recline a little bit. Not the backrest itself reclines, but the entire chair tilts and recliners some degrees. I'm 6 ft 2 and 265 lb and I felt very comfortable in those seats.
Folks, if you're going to enter a movie theater with a big bucket of popcorn and drinks, when the movie is done, please don't be a litterbug, take your popcorn container with you and dump it in the garbage can located right there when you enter/exit the actual...
