Great date night--dinner and a movie in one! But a word about the drinks⊠Loved almost everything about this experienceâmy review includes a couple nick picky things that could be improved. Not enough to keep us away, we will be back for sure. The online reservation system was awesome. It showed the available seats and what percentage of the seats had been sold so far. Despite showing the that seats look like pairs separated from other pairs, all the seats are in a row next to each other. Each paired âlove seatâ has a wide arm rest between (enough to have a cup holder and your arm). Then between your loveseat and the next pair of loveseats is a small divider about a foot wide, big enough to hold napkins and condiments but you are still next to the next person over.
Your table folds out in front of you from that side table. Iâm short, my husband is tall yet the tables were a little too high for both of us because the seats are very cushy so you sink. The seats also recline by easy push of a button so the seats are very comfortable but I felt like I needed a booster chair to eat off my plate so that was a bit uncomfortable. I also wish that the napkins were lap sized. The napkins at the seats were very small and with the table being too high, there was some loss of sandwich onto my lap not covered well with several small napkins.
We ordered cocktails and water and food all the same time. Our food came first without utensils. Then finally utensils. Then the cocktails a while later. Then finally the water. Please, drinks first, especially the water. Wait staff was very friendly when we saw them. I liked that they were efficient when walking past us to other customers in our row. The seat rows are quite wide so you donât have to trip over feet to get out of the rowâthat was awesome. The food was good. There were lots to choose from and all the items had fun movie themed names. The cocktails were very weak. I am a lightweight and I could not feel this drink at all. In the future we will order beer or wine.
The screen was in great condition, we were in the back row and could easily see the entire screen even with sinking into the seats! The sound was awesome, definitely surround sound making an immersive experience. I also liked the ambience of the theater. You can just go eat there or have happy hour, no movie. You can have a movie with no meal. You can order gelato when you come in. You can come early or stay late. It was Saturday night so there was live music. The bathrooms were very large and clean. It looks like thereâs only one menâs and one womenâs but despite a movie just getting out there were still plenty of stalls in the womenâsâamazing. We went to see Indiana Jones and there was a cool selfie station set up in an Indiana Jones adventure style. There were lots of staff and as I walked by the kitchen to the restrooms, the staff was busy but not loud which was nice. There was a good vibe through the whole place, not stressed or loud/crazy.    Read moreTLDR - This place has a cool atmosphere, nice staff, and great popcorn, but the movie experience (fuzzy screen and vertical line, distracting servers) and slow service are significant drawbacks. The food is overpriced and subpar, and there's no real value compared to other theaters offering better quality for the same price. Movie Experience - 1 Star Service - 1 Star Food - 1 Star Staff - 4 Stars
This place has issues, but I can see why people like it. Let's start with the movie experience. The screen had a line going vertically through it, and I couldn't tell if it was the screen or the projector. The overall image was kind of fuzzy and not as crisp as you'd expect for the price you're paying. The audio wasn't bad, and that's unfortunately the highlight. Does the audio compare to a CineXL or Dolby Atmos from competitors at the same price? No, but it's still better than a lot of theaters out there.
The servers constantly walking in and out and standing directly in front of you is a bit annoying. We didn't even order anything during the movie, only during the trailers. Actually, we ordered before the trailers but didn't get our full order until just before the movie started. It took over 25 minutes to get our simple order. That leads me to the next point: the service.
One server in the theater kneeled out of the way; all the others just stand directly in front of you, blocking the screen. The amount of time it took to get our order was incredible, and we only ordered two drinks and popcorn. We also got food at the bar after the movie, and it took a while to get our first round of drinks and even longer to cash out at the end. Now, I'm not blaming the bartender at all; this falls on scheduling and management for sure. You could tell she was the one making all the drinks for the screens and the entire restaurant area. Management needs to do better about supporting the staff.
Now let's talk about the food. It wasn't good at all, especially for what they charge. You can tell they're cheaping out and over charging to make up what's being lost on the theater side, but that still isn't an excuse for the quality. It was at and below bar food, but damn near at mid to high-end restaurant prices. The Birria quesadilla is a joke, you're calling it something it's not. This is not a "Culinary Adventure".
Now, what I get about it. It's got a cool atmosphere and overall nice staff, with some of the best popcorn I've had in a long time. It's something different, and that's enough for some people. The live music was cool but a bit loud for the size of the space.
Unfortunately, we decided that we'll never be returning. The prices aren't worth it at all; there's just no real value. For about the same price, I can see a movie in Dolby Vision/Atmos at AMC and know the quality is going to be top-notch. The same goes for the nicer...
Read moreI cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet?!!! We used to be iPic snobs but we found this place after it closed. The food is no where near as good as iPic was, but the selection is pretty good. They've got burgers, various appetizer type foods, pretzels, gelato, desserts, and multiple flavors of popcorn.
I cannot eat eggs and don't eat a lot of wheat, so finding items on a menu can sometimes be hard. I usually get their nachos - which are good. I added the Carne Asada to them a few times, but probably will stop because the quality of the meat is never consistent. Mental note to me - maybe I'll try adding the chicken next time. I got one of their salads a few times but stopped because there was WAY more lettuce than 'good stuff' and it's just hard to pick out the good stuff when it's mostly dark. I always felt like I was leaving a bit hungry.
My husband usually gets a burger and seems happy with that. Sometimes they have specials and he'll order from that menu.
The seats are comfy recliners, just like they had at iPic, with a table that swings in/out. Napkins and ketchup/mustard are beside every seat. Sometimes they remember to bring you plastic ware wrapped in a 'real' napkin, I hate it when they forget that - because the napkins in those pop-up containers really don't cut it (especially with nachos). Speaking of finger foods, it'd be great if they gave at least the nacho orderers a handi-wipe thing (but remembering the plastic ware and real napkin really are more important).
The staff is friendly and helpful - including checking on egg content in things (as of today, the only gelatos with egg are their dark chocolate and espresso... in case you were wondering).
One of the things that iPic had that made it more special was a menu of things that are easier to eat in the dark with your fingers - like nachos that have the 'stuff' intentionally placed on each chip or mini burgers. Things that you can pick up and eat in one or two bites to help cut down on the mess. It seems a little pretentious, but VERY helpful when eating in a lounge chair, in the dark, over a tiny table at sort of an awkward angle.
I do have one actual pet peeve about the place - I cannot speak to the men's restroom, but the women's sink is ALWAYS wet. It happens everywhere, and it's hard to control, but it is SO easy to have someone walk in once an hour or so with a cloth and wipe it down. A dry counter just LOOKS clean and welcoming, the wet counter looks messy and makes the person feel a bit uneasy about using the restroom at all. I never have a complaint about the rest of the restroom, just the countertop area.
All-in-all, this is our go-to theater now - we prefer the seating type and the in-seat service. We don't go anywhere else.
Thanks for...
