By pure coincidence, I found my new all-time favorite theatre, Roadhouse Cinemas, which is located about half-a-mile from the staycation resort I was at for the weekend. It was absolutely the most unique-looking, inside/out, theatre and had an absolute awesome feature: “Screening Rooms” which are tiny, 13-person-max auditoriums, as if you were the producers/studio looking at the dailies or final pre-release cut. My ONLY gripe – the movie didn’t fit the whole screen. In fact, it looked kind of small on a very large screen for the room size. But, the sound, seats and full staff were EXCELLENT. Reclining chairs were very nice and it had a moveable try for your food – it’s a dine-in experience. I definitely took advantage of that, but only ordered a big-bowl-of-popcorn and my first sodas in a long while. (I don’t drink the stuff anymore, but I just wanted an old-fashioned movie-theatre-going recollection.) And WOOOOW, that was a freaking HUGE bowl of Popcorn. I couldn’t even finish it. PLUS, in addition, with the price tag (of only $10!!) they give you another HUGE bag to go. This was another reason I got the popcorn and also because I was planning on pizza for dinner following. They say it’s award-winning popcorn, but I just got the plain kind (they have multiple coatings. I’m an original-popcorn lover.) It was very good. My waiter was cute and very friendly. (Also, he was #2 of 3 people that complimented my NES-Jason Voorhees shirt today. 😊) So, I tipped him pretty good. That said, I sat RIGHT next to 4 elderly women, the only other patrons there. When it came time to tip the guy, one woman said, “Oh, I don’t normally tip them. (She then looked at the bill and with a surprise look, she concluded with) Oh, I would leave a dollar for that.” Awww, so sad. Now I’m extra glad I gave like a 33% tip. HIGHLY recommend this place located at 9090 E Indian Bend Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250. If you live in the Valley, you absolutely need to travel any distance to go here. Plus, you’re supporting local business people.* AMC is absolutely going downhill fast. And I’m glad there is a great alternative to them. * Or so they tell me. Their website lists this one in Scottsdale, a second in Tucson, AZ and third in Colorado Springs, CO. Maybe they’re not franchised out and locals run them.

Beautiful theatre excellent seats. Relatively good food but way overpriced on both food and admission. The outside looks just as good as the inside. However I'll never come here again, the theater was so damn boiling hot that I had to drink so much water that I was running back and forth to the bathroom like five times. Also I was on the opposite end of the building from the only men's room. I must have tool at least five different servers that it was too hot. And the temperature didn't even change which wasn't much until the last 10 minutes of the movie. The food is overpriced by at least I would say two and a half times what would be reasonable. And it's not very good either. It's a beautiful theater with beautiful very comfortable seats. But the customer service is lacking is me being polite. When I told the manager after the movie he offered me a free popcorn for the next time I came and I'm like that would be useless to me cuz I'll never come here again. Could you just give me a refund on the popcorn I paid for instead of a free one the next time I come cuz I won't be coming back, and he's like no I can't do that. I really do understand that his whole idea was to try to convince me to come back, but I'll never be back. I was only able to get pictures of the outside seating because they threatened to throw me out if I took pictures inside. Don't go to this theater you might spend more on the tickets initially at AMC or harkins, but you'll spend less on the food and have a better overall experience.

Tried this place out and never coming back the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat on in any theater as well as the screen in the “screening room” for dine in food and drinks was a old projector as there were bleached spots in the screen showing its old and messed up , stains on the walls right next to me and the servers kept messing up my orders kept giving me stuff I didn’t order then took 40 minutes to give me my first drink, giving the excuse “ we are backed up currently sorry” as all five of the servers for the one room I was in were talking and showing TikTok’s in the main hall not doing anything and forgetting what people ordered after being reminded a fourth time hey where’s that item I ordered , food mediocre at best and my mozzarella sticks were 14 bucks and weren’t even hot and they never gave my receipt waited five minutes after credits for them to never come had to go find them myself and it’s so unorganized they didn’t know who ordered what in a 8 person room seriously ?? And to top it all off I had a family sitting next to me with kids and they would not stop talking the whole time as well as the grandpa constantly making the most loudest noise with anything he was doing being so rude this place is so ghetto horrible experience never coming here go to majestic

Great date night--dinner and a movie in one! But a word about the drinks
Loved almost everything about this experience—my review includes a couple nick picky things that could be improved. Not enough to keep us away, we will be back for sure. The online reservation system was awesome. It showed the available seats and what percentage of the seats had been sold so far. Despite showing the that seats look like pairs separated from other pairs, all the seats are in a row next to each other. Each paired “love seat” has a wide arm rest between (enough to have a cup holder and your arm). Then between your loveseat and the next pair of loveseats is a small divider about a foot wide, big enough to hold napkins and condiments but you are still next to the next person over.

Your table folds out in front of you from that side table. I’m short, my husband is tall yet the tables were a little too high for both of us because the seats are very cushy so you sink. The seats also recline by easy push of a button so the seats are very comfortable but I felt like I needed a booster chair to eat off my plate so that was a bit uncomfortable. I also wish that the napkins were lap sized. The napkins at the seats were very small and with the table being too high, there was some loss of sandwich onto my lap not covered well with several small napkins.

We ordered cocktails and water and food all the same time. Our food came first without utensils. Then finally utensils. Then the cocktails a while later. Then finally the water. Please, drinks first, especially the water. Wait staff was very friendly when we saw them. I liked that they were efficient when walking past us to other customers in our row. The seat rows are quite wide so you don’t have to trip over feet to get out of the row—that was awesome. The food was good. There were lots to choose from and all the items had fun movie themed names. The cocktails were very weak. I am a lightweight and I could not feel this drink at all. In the future we will order beer or wine.

The screen was in great condition, we were in the back row and could easily see the entire screen even with sinking into the seats! The sound was awesome, definitely surround sound making an immersive experience. I also liked the ambience of the theater. You can just go eat there or have happy hour, no movie. You can have a movie with no meal. You can order gelato when you come in. You can come early or stay late. It was Saturday night so there was live music. The bathrooms were very large and clean. It looks like there’s only one men’s and one women’s but despite a movie just getting out there were still plenty of stalls in the women’s—amazing. We went to see Indiana Jones and there was a cool selfie station set up in an Indiana Jones adventure style. There were lots of staff and as I walked by the kitchen to the restrooms, the staff was busy but not loud which was nice. There was a good vibe through the whole place, not stressed or loud/crazy. Will be...

TLDR - This place has a cool atmosphere, nice staff, and great popcorn, but the movie experience (fuzzy screen and vertical line, distracting servers) and slow service are significant drawbacks. The food is overpriced and subpar, and there's no real value compared to other theaters offering better quality for the same price. Movie Experience - 1 Star Service - 1 Star Food - 1 Star Staff - 4 Stars

This place has issues, but I can see why people like it. Let's start with the movie experience. The screen had a line going vertically through it, and I couldn't tell if it was the screen or the projector. The overall image was kind of fuzzy and not as crisp as you'd expect for the price you're paying. The audio wasn't bad, and that's unfortunately the highlight. Does the audio compare to a CineXL or Dolby Atmos from competitors at the same price? No, but it's still better than a lot of theaters out there.

The servers constantly walking in and out and standing directly in front of you is a bit annoying. We didn't even order anything during the movie, only during the trailers. Actually, we ordered before the trailers but didn't get our full order until just before the movie started. It took over 25 minutes to get our simple order. That leads me to the next point: the service.

One server in the theater kneeled out of the way; all the others just stand directly in front of you, blocking the screen. The amount of time it took to get our order was incredible, and we only ordered two drinks and popcorn. We also got food at the bar after the movie, and it took a while to get our first round of drinks and even longer to cash out at the end. Now, I'm not blaming the bartender at all; this falls on scheduling and management for sure. You could tell she was the one making all the drinks for the screens and the entire restaurant area. Management needs to do better about supporting the staff.

Now let's talk about the food. It wasn't good at all, especially for what they charge. You can tell they're cheaping out and over charging to make up what's being lost on the theater side, but that still isn't an excuse for the quality. It was at and below bar food, but damn near at mid to high-end restaurant prices. The Birria quesadilla is a joke, you're calling it something it's not. This is not a "Culinary Adventure".

Now, what I get about it. It's got a cool atmosphere and overall nice staff, with some of the best popcorn I've had in a long time. It's something different, and that's enough for some people. The live music was cool but a bit loud for the size of the space.

Unfortunately, we decided that we'll never be returning. The prices aren't worth it at all; there's just no real value. For about the same price, I can see a movie in Dolby Vision/Atmos at AMC and know the quality is going to be top-notch. The same goes for the nicer...

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed this place yet?!!! We used to be iPic snobs but we found this place after it closed. The food is no where near as good as iPic was, but the selection is pretty good. They've got burgers, various appetizer type foods, pretzels, gelato, desserts, and multiple flavors of popcorn.

I cannot eat eggs and don't eat a lot of wheat, so finding items on a menu can sometimes be hard. I usually get their nachos - which are good. I added the Carne Asada to them a few times, but probably will stop because the quality of the meat is never consistent. Mental note to me - maybe I'll try adding the chicken next time. I got one of their salads a few times but stopped because there was WAY more lettuce than 'good stuff' and it's just hard to pick out the good stuff when it's mostly dark. I always felt like I was leaving a bit hungry.

My husband usually gets a burger and seems happy with that. Sometimes they have specials and he'll order from that menu.

The seats are comfy recliners, just like they had at iPic, with a table that swings in/out. Napkins and ketchup/mustard are beside every seat. Sometimes they remember to bring you plastic ware wrapped in a 'real' napkin, I hate it when they forget that - because the napkins in those pop-up containers really don't cut it (especially with nachos). Speaking of finger foods, it'd be great if they gave at least the nacho orderers a handi-wipe thing (but remembering the plastic ware and real napkin really are more important).

The staff is friendly and helpful - including checking on egg content in things (as of today, the only gelatos with egg are their dark chocolate and espresso... in case you were wondering).

One of the things that iPic had that made it more special was a menu of things that are easier to eat in the dark with your fingers - like nachos that have the 'stuff' intentionally placed on each chip or mini burgers. Things that you can pick up and eat in one or two bites to help cut down on the mess. It seems a little pretentious, but VERY helpful when eating in a lounge chair, in the dark, over a tiny table at sort of an awkward angle.

I do have one actual pet peeve about the place - I cannot speak to the men's restroom, but the women's sink is ALWAYS wet. It happens everywhere, and it's hard to control, but it is SO easy to have someone walk in once an hour or so with a cloth and wipe it down. A dry counter just LOOKS clean and welcoming, the wet counter looks messy and makes the person feel a bit uneasy about using the restroom at all. I never have a complaint about the rest of the restroom, just the countertop area.

All-in-all, this is our go-to theater now - we prefer the seating type and the in-seat service. We don't go anywhere else.

Thanks for...
