Petco — Local services in Paradise Valley

Petco I'm a person to always leave kind reviews for places that treat me well and do an overall good job of trying. I had a nightmare grooming experience with my great Pyrenees, and some how they made it feel like it was my fault. She's double coated (so a lot of hair) and her butt and neck we're beginning to become a bit matted. So we called Petco grooming to see what they could do and made an appointment, when I took her in, I said her butt and neck need work, if they had to spot shave some spots that's fine, "do what you need to do" meaning her neck and her butt !!!! I should have never said those words, as when I went to pick her up 4 hours later, she was 95% shaved except for her face and the tip of her tail!!!! I tipped and paid before I saw her, and when I saw her I was in shock... There was nothing anyone could do at that point. Doing some research her double coat may never grow back right, and she has to be brushed twice daily for it to not mat. We spoke to a live chat last night when I came home about our issues and scared for her overrall health and promised they'd call us this morning. All they are doing is giving us a refund, even though I don't understand why anyone would need to pay $100 to completely shave a dog as that was probably the easiest and quickest solution they could think of ! Regardless if they thought they HAD to shave her belly and back coat, they should have called me first as I could have found a place that was willing to take the time to do a blow out and brush her coat!! That's what I'm paying them for right ???... I still feel like they're trying to say it's my fault and now I need to do some research to make sure we protect her skin until it grows back :'( I'll take any advise. My poor baby looks...

Pet groomer, "Sara" (with dark hair) is a liar. Sara tried to con me into buying several flea and tick products I do not need. Sara groomed my little Maltese. When I went to pick up my dog and pay for the grooming, Sara told me that my dog had FLEAS, SARA IS A LIAR, MY DOG NEVER HAD FLEAS, my dog is very old and barely goes outside. Then Sara told me I needed to buy flea and tick shampoo and other treatments at Petco. Sara was trying to sell me flea and tick products that I did not need.... I also have a short-hair Chihuahua, and she does not have fleas, Sara examined my Chihuahua and said that she did not have fleas. My dogs sleep in the same bed, how can one dog have fleas and the other dog not have fleas when they sleep right next to each other?? ... My dogs barely scratch themselves let alone act like they're infested with fleas. Then Sara said that she's had clients whose dogs were infested with ticks and the owners didn't even know it. What??? ... Sara is a con, she tries to con you into buying products you don't need. ... The grooming job was ok. But I will never allow Sara to touch my dog again, I do not...

Petco is not where the pets go. Took my dog in for a grooming and to get his nails cut and they said it would take 4 hours! What's the point of an appointment? After I dropped off my dog, they called me after I got all the way back to my house and said my dog is too anxious and is somehow choking himself from his leash and that I need to come back and get my dog and they aren't going to do the services. I asked if they could still try and cut the nails and they said they would try. As I arrived again, they had my dog double leashed to 2 poles trying to cut his nails as he was crying. I asked if they wanted my help to pet my dog and calm him down and they said no. So I watched them struggle with my dog who is crying. They then only cut the front 2 paws and said they aren't doing the back paws.

My question is, if this is your job, how have you never dealt with an anxious dog before? They were just too lazy to try and care for my dog and didn't want to do the services and instead just wanted an easy day.

Unbelievable! Don't ever get services...
