I try to not leave negative reviews but this place, to me, is not worth it.
I drove 30 mins to meet some friends and their kids (4 adults, 3 teenagers and 5 kids under 6). It was my first time going. We went during the week and although the arcade area was busy, the restaurant and bar were quite empty.
First, it was so hot inside that it was uncomfortable. At first I didn’t care much but it adds to the experience.
Second, after playing for about 30-45 mins (where we collectively spent around $250 or more) we decided to get some food during happy hour. While we were waiting for the hostess, who seemed to be very busy catching up with her coworkers, a party of about six adults got there and stood right next to us. When the hostess got there, she went straight to the other party to greet them. They politely told her we were there first, she finally acknowledged us and took us to our table. It rubbed me the wrong way but it could’ve been an honest mistake so I moved on but, again, it adds to the experience.
Then comes the waiter, who seemed annoyed to have to wait our table. It took him 20 minutes to take water to the table. I must mention that the restaurant area had at most four tables occupied. The majority of our order was from the HH menu with the exemption of some drinks and another menu item.
Not even five minutes after the food was taken to our table, the waiter comes by and asks if we need “to go” boxes. We had literally just gotten the food!! This was the last straw for me. This is when everyone at the table started to verbalize the little hints of being unwelcome since the beginning. One of my friends mentioned that maybe he thought we were not going to leave a tip so he was being rude. Either way, we tried to enjoy the rest of our time and kept the experience going for the kids.
When he brought the check over, gratuity was included; he didn’t bother mentioning it so my friend added gratuity via card payment. She then noticed the discrepancy and removed the extra grat from the check. That individual did not deserve one extra penny from us, especially after the way he was treating us. Well, to our not surprise, they ended up charging double gratuity and now she has to spend time in order to resolve that issue. I’m sure we wouldn’t even care if the service was at least decent but at this point it’s about the principal. Also, aren’t they suppose to tell you when gratuity is included ?
In conclusion, I’ll stick to Dave & Busters, where my business is appreciated, the game variety is better and I can take my niblings (Nieces and nephews ) without worrying about the low...
Read more"This review got deleted because this company doesn't want to deal with their problems." I am a former employee of Mavrix. I started a little over 2 years ago and I can say that this was the best experience as a job I have ever had. The chef was supportive to his staff and genuinely cared about us. The food was yummy and fresh, and we were a functioning kitchen. When we were told that we were being bought out by Bowlero we weren't happy but a couple of us decided to stay because we enjoyed the crew and liked the job. Bowlero lied to our face. When were first got word that we were changing they promised that no one would lose their job, and the menu would not change. I lost many friends that got shocking news that they would not have a job in two weeks. Bowlero then decided to introduce a new menu that consisted of 90% frozen and canned food. As soon as all of the cooks had been trained bowlero decided to fire the chef. Then bowlero decided to bring in another "chef" from another bowlero. His name is John. I ended up quitting because he would regularly not wear gloves and cross contaminate. So that burger that you're eating probably has raw chicken on it. I would go to the GM and other managers reporting this and they brushed it off and said they would talk to him. This continued for months. He only put gloves on when his boss was in the facility. The final straw was me seeing John stick his gloved hands down his pants, goes and types on his computer and then going to work on the line to make a sandwich WITHOUT CHANGING HIS GLOVES. I reported this and nothing became of it. Please do not come here. You will get sick. Your kids will get sick. Bowlero is a company that only cares about making money and growing their business. I used to love working here but now shivers go down my spine every time I think about it. I will keep reposting this even though it is...
Read moreI recently visited Mavrix with a group of friends, looking forward to a fun-filled day of games and entertainment. The venue had a nice ambiance, and the DJ's music added to the lively atmosphere, creating a good vibe throughout the place.
However, my excitement soon waned when I noticed that a significant number of the games were out of order or not functioning properly. I'd estimate that around 85% of the games were broken, which was quite disappointing. It seemed like the arcade management hadn't taken enough care to maintain their game machines adequately, and this had a noticeable impact on the overall experience.
On the positive side, the DJ's performance was enjoyable, and the music selection added a positive energy to the environment. The presence of good music helped offset some of the disappointment caused by the malfunctioning games.
As for the food, I regretfully didn't get the chance to try it, so I can't comment on that aspect of Mavrix. It would have been nice to have a more diverse and functional selection of games to keep us entertained, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case during my visit.
One major issue that further dampened my experience was the purchase of a card to play the games. Investing in a gaming card, only to find that most of the games were broken, left me feeling quite dissatisfied with my visit. I had hoped for a more enjoyable and immersive gaming experience, but that wasn't the reality.
In conclusion, Mavrix has potential as a fun entertainment spot, but their lack of attention to maintaining their games was a significant letdown. The DJ's performance was a highlight, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant, but it couldn't fully compensate for the disappointment caused by the non-functional games. I hope that Mavrix takes customer feedback seriously and addresses these issues to improve the overall experience for...
