Great spot for a boat ride! You'll ride about 30 minutes on a covered boat if you're touring the Dora Canal to get to the canal itself. For the first 30 minutes, the boat is rather loud until you get to the canal, which is a "no-wake" ride through, and it's quiet. If your ears are sensitive, maybe grab plugs. The captain and host were both great. The host had fitting jokes for the ride and was very knowledgeable. She knew various bird and plant species. The scene was absolutely breathtaking. The Spanish moss was a sight to see. We only saw a small gator head poking out of the water, but I went for the scenery of the canal. They provide water in a cooler if you forget yours. I did not see bathrooms, but there is a marina next door. I'm not entirely sure if it's linked to this business or not. I definitely recommend!

Easy to find dock, great check-in staff, knowledgeable guides, and of course beautiful surroundings (saw lots of birds, a few baby gators, and even a manatee surface very briefly). We booked the night before for 4 adults and a child on the 2- hour canal tour. One of our party woke up with back issues and was unable to join. The check-in staff refunded us the unused ticket which I didn't even ask them to do nor expected. Everyone was pleasant and professional. Our 3 year old is often nervous about new experiences, but felt totally at ease for her first time ever being on a boat. We didn't think about bringing snacks/drinks, but others on our boat did BYO coolers with refreshments and snacks. Hailing from NY, not sure when we will be back in the area, but we won't hesitate to book with Rusty Anchor again.

Captain Andy and his Co-Captain Rand were awesome. Capt Andy did a thorough safety briefing as well as a health briefing on staying hydrated and protected from the sun. The boat was very comfortable and had complimentary water. Capt Andy was a great navigator on the lake and through the canal. Plus, Rand was a fabulous historical tour guide presenter! Learned a lot, and saw so many different types of trees and vegetation that were stunning, and lots of various wildlife...even 2 bald eagles! Capt Andy even helped a young girl learn how to "Captain the ship". Someone with a walker or cane could easily get on and off this boat. We highly recommend this 2 hour cruise for anyone.

Had a really nice evening on this one hour sunset cruise Friday past! Mom and I came upon this dock where you could sign up. It was reasonable and nice weather. About 18-20 person on our boat. They had two boats that went out that night. They provided blankets too! It gets windy and chilly so be prepared if cool evening, bring a jacket! The tour included some interesting facts about the area. Beautiful scenery. The guys that ran the tour were really nice and did a good job! Thank you. Make sure to tip them! If you’re able to. Everyone on board look like they were enjoying themselves too! We helped others take pictures. Nice night.

My wife and I had an excellent time!! We were so lucky as to be the ONLY passengers during our outing. Our captain was very good! He told us some historical tidbits about Mount Dora during our little sunset cruise excursion. It was a very relaxing way to spend the evening. Luckily, the clouds broke up a little so we could get some good photos. We went for my wife's birthday and she really enjoyed it too! I would definitely recommend the sunset cruise. The captain was very friendly and personable. I would for sure book another sunset cruise in the future. No complaints at all!

If you’re planning a Dora Canal tour, you’ll take a 30-minute covered boat ride to reach the canal itself. The initial 30 minutes can be a bit noisy, but once you’re in the canal, it’s quiet, no wake. If you have sensitive ears, consider bringing earplugs. The captain was fantastic! We were a small group of 6, so we didn’t have a host. He was knowledgeable about birds and plants. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The Spanish moss, an invasive species was everywhere. We spotted birds and turtles, but unfortunately, we didn’t see any gators.
