If I could give the owner and the store more than five stars I would! I came to Mount Dora for the day, because I wanted to have a doggy day out with my 15-year-old Golden Retriever. The minute we arrived my dog was overcome with heat exhaustion. The owner of the bookstore was literally an angel. We were sitting in the grass on the side of the road when she came up to us and offered us the opportunity to come into her store to cool off and get some water. I want to make it very clear that we were not right outside of her store either. We were quite a ways across the street. She must have seen us while she was looking out her store window or when she stepped outside. It was a little bit of a walk for her to have to leave her business in order to come help us! She then researched the best way to remedy my dog's exhaustion and called for a transit to get us back to our car! You never know what's really happening in someone's life. My dog is extremely important to me and my best friend! We go everywhere together and we're literally inseparable. If something horrible were to have happened to him today, my whole entire world would have shattered! I also want to give a shout out to John who runs the transit in this area! The two of them were a huge blessing today and now my dog is comfortable, smiling and happy to be home! We should definitely support people's businesses who have beautiful souls like these individuals! God bless and much love!...

I am disgusted by the way my children were treated in this store. While I’m as browsing the shelves, my sister was watching my girls (2 and 4 years old) at the front of the store. I heard the worker curse loudly, while I’m standing one shelf away from her, and run to the front to tell my girls to stop running (mind you, my sister is monitoring them and they weren’t running, they stepped down the stair which apparently the sound was a trigger for this worker). I’m on high alert now with this woman who has cursed at my children in front of me (unbeknownst to her), she walks back over toward me, hears the sound of my children’s feet hitting the ground (aka stepping down the stair) and again curse and literally runs to the front of the store. This time, she gets close to my children’s’ faces and yells ‘NO RUNNING’ again. This woman has some deep-seated issues if she feels that infuriated about children that she feels as though it’s morally okay to curse and then get inches away from a 2 year olds face and berate her. I wouldn’t recommend this store to my worse enemy. I will, however, be back next time I’m in town to let my girls do a lap around this store (and this time I’ll join them).
