At first, everything seemed so promising. My stylist, Adriana, was very friendly and accommodating. I am trying to grow my length and growing out some dyed sections to eventually be all natural. I have about 6 inches of natural growth at my roots, and the ends, where I had dyed, dyed, dyed, had started turning a brassy red from the time I had fire engine red hair.
I told her I wanted a reverse ombre with dark brown at the ends to fade into my natural color while I am growing it out, and want to keep as much length as possible. The dye job was pretty good, but in hindsight I should have made her do the darker ombre on my top layer, not just the bottom layer. She used my natural color on my top layer, which isn't dark enough to cover the red, so while it is pretty close to my natural color, it has a hint of auburn in it... much prefer the ombre on the bottom that fades to a dark brown and covers the red. This was her suggestion based on what I asked for (reverse ombre to cover the red dyed sections) and I think that my original request for the dark ombre on the top layer would have looked better... so I am a little disappointed.
The cut is dull, but that is partially on me. I asked her to keep the length at all costs, but did say that I have layers in my hair that I wanted to keep. I have layers there, but they are a little blunt and don't look anything like past layering jobs.
The BIG PROBLEM, the one that sent me home crying, is my bangs. I have the straight across bangs. I am always so nervous to let people cut them, because bangs are front and center... and when someone messes them up, you are screwed for at least a few weeks. I don't even have long side bangs either, I have the full fringe (which I have had for years and absolutely love!). I needed to have them reshaped, because it had been a few months and I usually trim them myself at home between cuts. I showed her 3 pictures of exactly what I wanted: bangs cut straight across with angling sides. Anyone who has bangs knows they are cut in the "triangle". SHE CUT MY BANGS ALL THE WAY PAST MY TEMPLES. I couldn't tell if they were really that horrible in the chair, or if it was the way she was styling them (she kept brushing them back 80's style... I am 25), so I couldn't get out of there fast enough (I was struggling to hide tears) to get home, style them myself, and see if it was the actual cut or just the style. When I got home and styled them, it was worse than I could have imagined... Where my bangs used to stop near the arch of my eyebrows, they were now cut past my temples... no amount of styling could save me from looking like the beginning of a 12-year old boy's bowl cut. I sobbed... It will take me years to grow those sections to the length of my mid-back hair.
I can't wear my hair down because I need to pin the solid 1.5 inches of bangs on either side that need to be removed from my bangs to look remotely decent... and it will take months for them to be long enough that they are clearly distinguished from my bangs. For someone who is a "professional", this was completely unacceptable. She should know how to cut bangs, and I had pictures! Bangs are the first thing people see, and she completely botched them in a way that cannot be fixed for quite some time. I will NEVER set foot in...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews, but I am compelled and almost obligated to share this in hopes that someone else can avoid what can only be described as an absolutely terrible experience.
If you're walking in, it's expected that you wait and give priority to those who have appointments. However, never in my life have I seen someone come in after you, announce they don't have an appointment, and still get priority over you. If you have any ounce of critical thinking, you can pretty easily come to the conclusion that you'll get preferential treatment if you're Korean.
Also, there seems to be a recent influx in negative reviews that I can only attribute to a decline in overall consideration for patrons; it's not coincidence that my negative experience is happening in light of all of this, I imagine.
Total embarrassment of an establishment, and if I can dissuade even one person from wasting their time coming to those dumpster fire business, then I'll have done my job.
I also want to recognize the staff here and commend them. In my almost thirty years on this planet, I have never seen a more poorly run business. That is saying a lot!
In summary: AVOID THIS...
Read moreThis was my first time at this salon, and I was really disappointed with the experience. The hair washing felt rushed, and when the stylist was working on my hair, she mentioned it was "too much work." I didn’t feel like she put much effort into it, and there was a slight language barrier, which might have made communication harder. When I got home, I noticed that while the outside of my hair looked okay, the inside still felt oily. It makes sense now because the wash was done so quickly, and the stylist seemed more focused on finishing fast than on properly cleaning my scalp.
I have really curly hair, and it usually takes about 90 minutes to get it feeling soft and well cared for. This time, it was done in less than 45 minutes, and it didn’t feel like enough time was spent on it. They even had two people blow-drying my hair, but the middle of my hair still felt neglected, like no effort was put into it. I didn’t want to make a scene, so I just took the loss, but I won’t...
