I can't express how disappointed I'm in this place. I went to The Jewelry Design Co for the repair of 2 engagement rings as well as setting 2 stones on them. Despite what the reviews may have you think, there are only a few places (in general) where I've experienced such void empathy for another person. That says a lot given that I'm easy to please because I'm, by default, grateful and a happy person. As a veteran that deployed overseas and experienced rough times (to put it mildly), it comes naturally. Anyway, onto why I highly recommend to stay away from this place. When my wife and I spoke to David for the first time we were met with condescension. We still got through our repair options, went over expectations of the final product, and decided to trust David with the engagement rings. We paid on the spot and assumed what was a red flag was a misunderstanding given the raving reviews. We were told that the work would take 2 weeks and we'd be kept up to date on the progress. 2 weeks go by and we don't hear a peep from David. We call multiple times and eventually get through to be told he needs another 2 weeks. That's cutting it closer than we'd like to our wedding day but it's not like we have an option anymore. Another 2 weeks go by. Same thing, no communication. We call multiple times and no one answers. We have to go in and only after the 2nd or 3rd time that we stop by his closed shop do we notice a sign on the door of the business next to his. It was a sign saying that The Jewelry Design Co was closed for the next 2 weeks for a family emergency. At this point we're in disbelief that a business that handles other peoples' valuables has no contigency in plan if something happens. Another 2 weeks go by. Per usual, no communication whatsoever. I have to reach out and end up texting David for an update. He brings up that his mother is ill instead of taking any sort of accountability as an adult for his actions. It is insulting because the lack of communication had started well before, if he indeed was so busy with his mother, he could've given us a heads up, and, again, we all have emergencies but this is a business that deals with important aspects of other peoples' lives (e.g., weddings) but has no empathy to have plans in case things pop up. Almost 3 weeks go by before we finally receive our rings. They look nothing like we discussed. This man looks mentally unstable and all trust has been ruined so I decide to take the rings and explain my concerns over text. We text back and forth. We ask David to partially reimburse us so we can have the work redone as we had described and expected and he agrees. My wife and I are certainly disappointed but at least respect that David has finally decided to take a little accountability. We get the work done on the rings as we had first decribed to David months before. We then text him pictures of the work and receipts as we had discussed, and are met with an incredible "Wrong number". A couple of days ago my wife and I sent him a letter through certified mail with the texts and photos, asking him to stay true to his word. We make sure to include our numbers. Because it's certified mail, there's no doubt that he has received our letter and has a way to contact us. Still haven't heard from David, though.

My husband and I have tried to contact David about two rings that were delivered late (no correspondence with us that they would not meet the agreed deadline) and then when we talked about our dissatisfaction in the service, David agreed for us to send the bill. The rings that were received had marks on the metal, uneven prongs, and baskets that were entirely too large for the diamond sizes. The radiant ring specifically, you can see the “hidden” halo from above. It’s not hidden at all. Ever since then he has ignored us and acted like we have the wrong number even after agreeing that he would pay for the corrections. Photos show the work that was delivered to us.

This jewelry store is a hidden gem! It’s clean, well-organized, and has a great selection of pieces. I was also happy to see they offer watch repair. David provided excellent customer service—friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. It made the whole experience enjoyable and hassle-free. Definitely worth checking out!

If you're in North Bethesda and looking for a great jewelry store, this place is a must visit! My husband and I were blown away by both the service and the beautiful selection of pieces. The owner, David, is incredibly welcoming and pays attention to every detail, making you feel right at home. The store is spotless and beautifully decorated, creating a really pleasant shopping atmosphere. The most adorable is when you walk in, you’re greeted by the cutest little security pup, wearing a pink jacket and necklace! Omg, that was such a charming touch! They offer a wide range of jewelry, from gold and silver to pearls, gemstones and diamonds. I personally loved their vintage collection which is perfect for anyone who loves classic, timeless pieces. The level of customer service really sets this place apart from others in the area. I’d definitely recommend checking it out, you won’t be...

The Jewelry Design Co is a beautiful store selling lovely pieces and offering exemplary service. I received helpful information, impeccable customer service, and a fair and reasonable quote here when I recently visited to inquire about ring resizing - my fiance had bought my engagement ring online and it was too big. There was no high pressure sales pitch like the big box stores --The Jewelry Design Co wanted to provide me with service that was best for me. They sized me and even recommended that my fiance first reach out to the original manufacturer before I have a resize done. They also kindly and helpfully answered my questions about finding a matching wedding band. This is an honest, knowledgeable, and highly skilled jeweler interested in the best for its customers. I highly recommend and will be shopping here for my future jewelry and jewelry...
