Absolutely worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Do not go here unless you want your firearm damaged. I took my Archon Type B here because another shop told me that WWG had a special sight pusher that was needed for my pistol. So I called them and asked and Troy confirmed that they did in fact have this special sight pusher to install my sights (which was later revealed to be a lie). I show up, they install the sights but for some reason, their gunsmith just couldn't actually do his job and install them straight. It's like he didn't even care. The front sight was canted to the side and the rear was not centered. Amateur hour times 10. It took him 3 trys to install the sights correctly. I fire 200 rounds at the range and my rear sights start walking out of the dovetail, sliding to one side and making my carry gun an inaccurate paper weight. I go back and explain the situation and talk to Troy in detail about what was happening and he says come back in and they will center the sights and we can go over the who, what, where, why on what the options are. I go back, hand over my pistol and specifically, verbally tell Troy that I just want them to center my rear sight, that's it nothing else. Then we can discuss why the sight is moving when fired. Within 5 minutes, the most incompetent gunsmith on the planet decided to go against my wishes and without my knowledge or permission, went ahead and peened my rear sight, damaging my slide in the process. He literally took a chip of metal out of the top of the limited edition FDE slide on my $950 Type B, it looks like he just hit it with a hammer. When I confronted him about it he simply said "oh well" and walked away from me into the back of the shop where he hid from all responsibly. No warnings, no liability forms about possible damage to my pistol, nothing. We take photos and fill out a damaged property statement which I still have plus receipts. They all said that the owner Jeremy West would "make it right". Said he would call me. He never did so I called him and told him what happened. He defended his lying and rude employees and gave me a bunch of excuses. He told me to call back in a few days. I called Archon to see if they could get me a new FDE slide with a matching SN, paid for my Jeremy West. They said yes so I call Jeremy West and he says he will order me a new slide. 30 days later I call and he gives me the excuse of being too busy to call them..a whole month and he didn't lift a finger. Finally another employee, Charlie, calls Archon and supposedly orders my slide that day. She said 3 weeks. 3 weeks later I call asking for an update and Charlie, very impatiently and rudely tells me that she doesn't have time to deal with me right now and hangs up on me as I'm talking. I wait a week hoping to get a call back, never did. I call and talk to the owner again Jeremy West. He again gives me a long list of excuses, refuses to give me an update, refuses to call Archon to check on my slide he claims was ordered, doesn't have an order number for me to check on my own, his response to every question I have is "I don't know", tells me that he honestly doesn't even care about the whole situation and told me to stop calling, that's not an exaggeration either, he literally said that word for word. Also said that "he's sorry it's such a burden on my life" and "it's not a big deal". Told me that when the slide comes in, he will call me immediately. Well it's been 3 months and they won't reply to my emails and when I call, nobody has a clue on what's going on. Jeremy West and his employees are the definition of horrible customer service and I'm surprised they are still in business. I do not believe my slide was ever ordered and I've been lead on and lied to for 3 months. Stay away from this place. Theres other horrible reviews of this place too that I wish I read first. My sights are still sliding around after a few mags so them "peening" them in place did absolutely nothing except damage the slide, all without my consent. I'd give zero...
Read moreDear Jeremy, Any Marlin "Specialist" should know what to do with this following description I provided to you. "Hello, I recently acquired a pre-Ruger, pre-crossbar safety Marlin 336. The rifle looks like unfired when I got it. Maybe a few rounds. It will not completely go into battery. The lever doesn’t close completely, and the hammer will not drop with a round in the chamber. It works without round in chamber. Maybe head-spacing issue? Can you repair a gun like that? And what might that cost?"
I lost my confidence in you, since you obviously don't know what to do with this description.
Yours sincerely
Con-Man Markus
Beware, worst customer service ever. I send in a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington. I explained that the firearm doesn't go into battery. It won't lock and the hammer safety will not disengage and the hammer doesn't drop. After they had it for quite some time I received a call that the rifle if repaired and a piece of brass was found in the chamber. It was supposed to now again functioning. The owner even said it was test-fired; it won't fire in this condition; because the hammer doesn't drop. I paid $155 for the repair and return shipping. I received my rifle. First they didn't even install the stock again. I had to re-assemble the stock onto the rifle. Then when I tried it, it still had the same issue, it wouldn't go into battery. I called and talked to the owner. Very unfriendly guy to begin with. He said send it back again. I said I want a refund but he didn't agree. Then I said send me a shipping label. He said OK but he won't send the rifle back until I, the customer would have paid for back and forth shipping, in case nothing wrong with the firearm. He also blamed the ammo; I have factory Winchester and factory Remington, both will not chamber/go into battery. Very un-professional. I won't send my firearm back to these so called Marlin specialists, just to have it held hostage until I pay...
Read moreBad experience today at Wild West Guns. I came to this shop based on the good recommendation of another gun store where I usually get ammo and accessories. I brought in the slide of my brand new Kahr PM9 for a front night sight installation. I purchased the Trijicon night sight direct from Kahr. When I came back to pick up the slide, I was told by the front counter person that my sight came crooked from the factory. I was told the gunsmith who installed the sight was Jeremy West but he was out of the store at that moment. Jeremy BUTCHERED the sight! Punch marks on each side of the sight base and hammer mark/dent on top of the sight. The tritium tube became out of round. He obviously forced the installation. The charge for his labor, $50. Jeremy called me later to tell me the metal used on the sight was too soft! I asked if he noted the brand of the sight I brought in. He didn't even know it was a Trijicon. He said it might say Trijicon but that doesn't mean it came from Trijicon. What aggravated me was being told the slide was ready to be picked up, as if everything was OK but was not. And then being told I brought in a defective sight that's why it came out crooked. What a bunch of crap from this people. The original sight was returned broken in two pieces. Jeremy offered to replace the sight if I bring back the slide. He won't even admit he mucked up the installation. I showed the result of his work to the gun store that recommended his service. They apologized. I know it was not their fault Jeremy did a horrible job but at least they now know the quality of the work done. Luckily I took pictures of the slide before I brought it in. So I have proof of this bad...
