We had a wonderful time!! My husband and I came to Vegas for a vacation and decided to take an excursion with Wild West Adventures for horseback riding. First off, the communication was great. Jason called to give us the details and instructions that were easy to follow for our pickup from the hotel. We had originally booked the breakfast ride, but there weren’t enough openings for the day we wanted to go. Jason upgraded us to the dinner/sunset ride without hesitation. It was definitely a wonderful change in plans! I can’t say enough good about this ride. Denny picked us up right on time from the arranged pickup spot. He was very nice and gave us little facts about Vegas and Nevada on our 45 min ride out to the ranch. The scenery is very nice on the ride out and it is totally worth it! Denny(who is also the cook) gave us the low down as we were pulling up so that we would know how things would play out. Cesar was our wrangler who gave us a quick instruction session on the horses and how to handle them. After that, Cesar and another gentleman(forgive me I forgot his name) got us saddled up on our horses. The other gentleman was the wrangler in the front and Cesar was in the back where we were riding. I was riding Gold Dust, a beautiful, spirited golden/white horse. My husband was matched with another brown, spirited one that fit his personality as well. All the horses were lovely and well taken care of. The views and landscape were breathtakingly beautiful! We had a nice easy ride through the desert and between some cliffs. We saw the horned goat on top of the ridge when we rode through. Cesar was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area and the horses. We had great conversation throughout the entire ride. Got some great pics of our ride too. We had 3 amigos keeping us all in line, the pups that walked with us the whole way! They were so sweet and playful. After we returned, Denny had dinner ready for us. It was delicious!!! It consisted of tasty steaks, corn on the cob, baked potato, and toasted bread. To top it all off, warm apple pie for desert! Yum! After dinner Cesar showed us how to rope a stear. We got some good conversation with the other riders with us. They only take a max of 12 riders at a time so you always feel like you are attended to. The ride back beautiful coming out of the mountains and seeing all of the city lit up! Some good tips are, buy the cowboy hat(if you don’t already have one), drink the fresh cold water they offer you, wear jeans and boots or sneakers, and tip your wranglers and the cook/driver!! We...
Read moreI was a little nervous booking this excursion since I was traveling alone in Vegas, but I am SO glad I did! It was worth every penny! From the moment I was picked up, the experience was amazing. Our driver, Darryl, set the tone right away with his welcoming energy, great humor, and hospitality. He offered us bottled water, acted as our DJ with fun country western music, pointed out landmarks on the drive, and later cooked us the BEST steak dinner (perfectly timed, hot and fresh when we got back from the ride. I chose steak, and it came with baked potato, corn on the cob, roll, and apple pie, all delicious!). he also brought along very good, nice quality, cowboy hat that you could purchase for a small fee if you wanted to play the part lol.
When we arrived, Chanel greeted us and instantly made me feel comfortable. As a beginner, I appreciated how patient, funny, and down-to-earth she was. She explained everything clearly, helped us mount, and even checked in on us throughout the ride to make sure we were okay. on the trail, she was very knowledgeable about all the critters, other livestock and landscape vegetation we would see on the way. She also took amazing pictures for everyone throughout the ride and periodically checked on everyone individually to make sure they were still ok, feeling safe and comfortable. She would ride along side everyone and answer questions or just have a personable conversation with you. I honestly felt like a best friend along the trail. After dinner, We had an option to even sit on the very friendly bull. He felt really wet to the touch and I was being extra so I didn’t want sit on him and soak my pants. lol. Chanel was so thoughtful and sweet that she even offered her own shirt as a blanket on the bull so I could sit on him without worrying,
The trail ride itself was unforgettable. Chico (sorry I may have spelled wrong) but he led us safely through the desert, and the scenery was breathtaking , a true Wild West sunset straight out of a movie. Exactly how they describe in the details on their web site. The horses were calm, well-trained, and easy to ride. Shoutout to my horse, Kimbo, who was such a good boy!
This experience was everything the description promised and more. The hospitality, the food, the care for guests, and the beautiful desert ride all made it an absolute highlight of my trip. They made you feel like family. I visit Vegas one to two times a year, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’ll try the breakfast ride. Highly,...
Read moreThis is one of the best tour experiences I've had anywhere. The operation is simple, but then again a horseback ride in the desert really doesn't have to be complicated. James picked us up at Treasure Island right on time and made a ride from the Vegas Strip out to our riding spot go by in a flash with his knowledge of the area and stories of and history of the local tribes, Area 51, and Elon Musk's plans for 28 minute travel between Vegas and LA. Once we arrived, Caesar took over and got each of us acclimated to our horse, making the most nervous first-time riders feel at home. Our horses, Dante and Cricket, were healthy, beautiful, well cared for, and well mannered. Definitely not your typical "rent a horse." Caesar loves what he does, takes pride in his work and his horses, and made sure in a very easy, unassuming way that each of us felt at home and comfortable. I wish I loved my job as much as Caesar loves his. You just can't fake that. The time on the horses flew by, and before I knew it we were riding back to our launch point into a beautiful desert sunset. Like clockwork, the sky glowed orange as the sun sunk behind the mountains as we got off our horses....and just in time...because the smells of the steaks, potatoes and corn on the cob hit us the second our feet hit the ground. Again...simple but delicious. There's nothing fancy about this trip. Fresh air, good people, mother nature, and good food. A very welcome and needed break from the hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip. Do yourself a favor and book this trip, and tell a few...
