We love soaps. This is a combination of a throwback General Store and a contemporary souvenir shop. When I say contemporary really it's just because of the crowds and lots of people that come here it doesn't look new fashion it's very old school. The candy area is are kids favorite all sorts of things but individual Penny candies boxes of candy you are normal understood Every Day candies as well as unique things that you don't find another place is you pay for it by the pound or by the piece depending on the type large area with that and always very popular. They have other interesting things as well with Siege of rate of hot sauce and other similar things like that in the General Store area.
Don't miss going up stairs it sometimes seems like you see everything on the first floor but there is a huge gift shop upstairs with lots of unique things some things like you would see normally at 8 destination tourist gift shop but very New Hampshire like items and you could spend a lot of time finding something interesting there.
The people are very nice the only downside is that during the peak times this place is usually fairly crowded but not overly so you'll just wait for a few minutes in line when you're checking out.
You can't go to North Conway without going to Deb we go there every time we visit...
Read moreHonestly I don't see what all the fuss is about. The store really wasn't all that great. If you've been to one stereotypical touristy American "country store" You've been to them all. The store is filled with what looks like a lot of customized local made craft products. In reality most of the products there, about 90% or more, are cheap products made to look handcrafted and unique. There is a lot of branded suit mixes and salsas and jams and soda and other unique food items that are simply made by companies that make products and then throw on branding of whatever store wants to show that they have unique products. For example I bought every one of the Zeb sodas at they offered because I'm a soda cap collector. The same exact soda is offered down the street at the restaurant Delaney's hole in the wall. It's just a private labeling company that puts their branding on a cheap soda product but it looks like it's made uniquely for zebs except it's not. The whole store is filled with items like this. It's overcrowded and over hyped. I couldn't find anything local or custom-made. Most products were...
Read moreI love this place, I don't care that there is tons to look at. It's a fun little adventure. It has something for everyone. I will say it does get busy and sometimes overcrowded, but that's because it is a really fun place. It really is like a tourist trap...but who cares, I love that kind of stuff. No one is holding a gun at you saying you need to buy stuff...just enjoy all the fun stuff and quit complaining. This store stays open longer than most of the places in North Conway..and you could spend a lot of time looking at all the stuff they have. Yes you could probably buy half of what they sell down the street for less, so save your money and do so. I enjoy all the smells in the apothecary room and I love the smell of the pickles in the barrels. They have an old fashioned candy counter and everyone that has ever helped me in the store has been friendly. Overall this is a two story store that...
