Felt Pressured and Misled — went in for a facial and left with a hit on my credit score?
I came here hoping for a relaxing facial and some long-term skin care, but my experience ended up being stressful and frustrating. On my very first visit, I actually purchased a package for services I genuinely wanted to do over time. At that point, I was already a client and committed.
But on my second visit, instead of focusing on my treatment, I was pressured again — multiple times — to commit to even more services. I explained several times that I couldn’t commit to the time frame they were pushing, but the upselling just kept coming. Being shown $6k+ in packages in two visits is over the top to me. What was supposed to be a relaxing, self-care experience became stressful because I felt like I was constantly being sold to rather than cared for.
I decided this wasn’t the right place for me and asked to cancel the unused services. To their credit, they were polite and issued me a refund for unused services, but the frustration didn’t stop there. A few days later, I got an alert that the Cherry financing account they work with to finance (no interest if paid off in the first few months) now shows up on my credit report as a new account — and my credit score dropped. I have spent years to get a great score so this was annoying to see.
I specifically asked about the credit check upfront and was told it wouldn’t be a hard pull — which was true — but no one explained that opening the account itself would still impact my credit score. I’ve used other financing arrangements like this before and never had them report to my credit, so this was a complete surprise.
If you’re thinking about booking here, here’s my advice: • Be prepared for persistent upselling — even if you’ve already purchased a package. • If they offer financing through Cherry, ask very specific questions and ask for time to review the agreement (if they let you think)
What started as a simple attempt at self-care turned into a stressful cycle of pressure, upselling, and an unexpected hit to my credit. I know it’s a temporary hit as I’ve paid it off already but this is definitely not the relaxing experience I went in looking for.
Update as the owner feels it's their right to dictate MY experience:
#1. When I mention a $6k package, I meant packages offered to me over the span of my two visits. At their high end, they would be around 6k, as one was for body contouring. #2. It's very true, I opted to choose the Cherry route, but they sit with you and you're pressured to the point where you don't get the time to even the agreement. #3. I didn't feel the need to review my actual facial experience because while my tech was lovely to speak with, the work IS NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT. They literally had products from Trader Joe's on their table and extractions are done with no steam, so there’s more trauma to the skin than needed. #4. The upselling, as evidenced by other reviews, detracted from any relaxing that I was able to acquire during my facial - which is the point of my review and obviously missed. You might as well get a facial at a car dealership with that type of sales pressure. Even if the facial had any quality to it, this would have detracted from the experience anyway. #5. I mentioned in my original post that they were able to help me...

After my previous review (below) the super nice owner Nadav advised that a tomato peel was used, although it’s considered a light peel, obviously my skin was not a fan. He profusely apologized (thank you 🥰) & offered for a comped facial. I must say, today’s facial was AMAZING, my skin is glowing and I’m so grateful. I think the lesson here is just that we all need to inquire/communicate about the products being used on our skin, as usually we personally know what doesn’t work for us. I’m so happy that I gave them another chance, today’s facial really was even better than the first time. I highly recommend this center and definitely ask for Katia!!!
Thank you Nadav and thank you Isha! 💜
I initially purchased a special for a facial after seeing an ad on Instagram. The facial was nice, honestly just felt like a lot of masks & a red light treatment, but I can't lie, my skin looked great & I received many compliments.
The downside, they are VERY "sell you products" heavy & really try to drive this home.
During checkout, after turning down the products & services "recommended", I did actually purchase a 2nd facial offered at another great price.
I guess I only have myself to blame, as I "assumed" it would be the same facial I had just done. It was not. As my skin started to burn, I asked what was put on my face, it turned out to be a "light peel" which I did NOT agree too, but was told "not to worry. Knowing my skin, peels are REALLY not great for my skin. Taking into account, I did this THE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY & MY TRIP TO NYC. This facial had the OPPOSITE affects....my face has broken out ALLOVER, my skin is still peeling to this day (super fun for you birthday & as we enter the holidays).
For those reasons and the car salesman type push for selling products are the reasons for my 3...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but my experience at ISHA Spa in Coral Gables was disappointing enough that I felt the need to share.
I had been a loyal and happy client for several treatments—my esthetician was always lovely, kind, and professional. However, the repeated pressure from the front desk staff to purchase a $2,500+ red light therapy device became excessive and inappropriate. Despite my clear explanation that I already owned a device (and even stated the brand), I was asked multiple times and eventually pressured to disclose how much I spent on it—something no client should ever be expected to share.
When I politely said I wasn’t comfortable discussing my spending habits, the staff member became visibly upset, refused to look me in the eye, and coldly said, “Let’s check you out.” The experience was humiliating and made me feel like my personal boundaries meant nothing.
When I brought this up to management, rather than offering a genuine apology or resolution, I was met with excuses, camera footage reviews, and the constant need to defend my discomfort. I even had to repeatedly clarify that my issue was not with the esthetician but with how the front desk team treated me. The more I explained, the more I felt dismissed and gaslit.
What started as a peaceful wellness experience quickly became an uncomfortable, exhausting situation. I’ve since requested to cancel my remaining treatments and stop payments moving forward, though even that has been made difficult.
If you go here, be prepared for upselling—and be prepared to justify your personal finances if you say no. I am disappointed and saddened that this is how they treat...
