Would give them a 0 for service if I could. They steal from you and rude blonde girl employee. Been to social goat a couple times and never had an issue with them until this past weekend. Went to Covington for IWFF event. Online they posted about a Taylor swift bingo night on Thursday. Long story short they knew they only had 150 seats yet they had a line running to scoops. Should have walked down the line and counted out 150 people to tell the people behind them that they would most get cut and not make it inside but they did not do this instead they let a bunch of people wait over an hour to not get in should have given them a heads up that they might not make it. That’s was one thing that happen with them I didn’t like. Now the big thing that happened and why I will not eat there again. They were one of the food vendors at the convention. I waited in line approached the front of the line and ordered what I wanted. They had a sign saying they were accepting cash and cards. So I ordered and paid my total for a 8oz cup of wine and a water was $13.20. So the girl say “ it’s $13.20, so like $14.” So I start to get cash out and I’m looking for coin change just to get rid of it and I didn’t have it so I gave her $14. I’m standing there waiting for my change and she asks if I got my water I said no she then handed me a water I still stand there and she said you can get your wine over there and then I ask for change. She then says oh I don’t have change to give you. And I tell her I want my change. I said so your gonna steal my money that’s not right and she said in a snarky voice and I quote” we’ve been doing it all weekend”. I just look at her and say so you’ve been stealing peoples money all weekend out loud as I walk away and she rolls her eyes at me. 🤢 that’s disgusting people like that girl disgust me. How does a business hire someone like that and steal peoples money. It’s not about the 80 cents. 80 cents won’t make or break me but how dare you steal peoples money and then act like that. I would have been so more than willing to tip and even more but after that happened never again will I eat there or tip there and I will be sure to let everyone I know what kind of people you hire and the business you run of stealing from people. How dare you take peoples hard worked money with out asking like that and then act like that, a little child. Shameful. Again it’s not about the 80 cents it’s they way you conduct business and your staff. If you didn’t have change to give you should have made that VERY CLEAR!!!!!! Had that on the sign or had some one tell people if they were about to pay cash that they don’t have change and let them decide then how they want to pay. That’s how you run a business it’s common sense ( I’m a manager at a big name retailer) you don’t just take people’s money and then give them attitude for taking their money. Horrible. I spent thousands to attend that con and you’re really gonna steal from me? If you had people who knew what they were doing the girl should have simply said oh I’m so sorry I don’t have change I can either refund you and you can pay with card or here is a $1 back the 20cents is on us since we dont have proper change to give your that’s on us. If it had happened like that I would have 100% tipped and would have given them a 5 star. That’s the right way and kind way to conduct business and not what actually happened. A 20 cent loss is a lot less worse for you guys then ruining your relationship with loyal customers. But anyone whose been a manager would know this so clearly this blond girl doesn’t know anything and needs to be retrained. But good job great staff great customer service, keep it up we will see how far you guys...

We have been to downtown Covington before and know there is street parking everywhere. This particular time the spots around the actual town square were taken, so we had to find an available spot on a side street. It was a short walk to The Social Goat Tavern and we entered without a reservation. A host guided us to a high-top table toward the back of the dining room. Right away, we noticed the extensive beer selection and a large menu to match. The space itself is much bigger than it appears from the outside—with sizable front and back dining areas, plus a few outdoor tables near the entrance. I also heard there’s an upstairs section, but it was closed off that day for a private event. The interior had the feel of a slightly elevated dive bar— a little dark but casual and comfortable. There was a QR code on the menu to pull up the full beer selection, but I couldn’t get any phone signal inside, so the menu never loaded for me. I couldn't even do an online check in. Luckily, one of the staff came over, asked what styles of beer we liked, and mentioned that the full selection was also listed on the board behind the bar. We could also see all the taps, which helped. Wifey spotted one of her favorites—Fall Line Brewing’s Daily Rind Wheat—and ordered that right away. I asked to sample a couple options and eventually landed on Glittery Eyes, a hazy IPA from Creature Comforts. Goat-themed artwork covered the walls of the interior dining room, tying in nicely with the restaurant’s name. Food-wise, Wifey ordered the fried shrimp with sweet potato fries (which could’ve been crispier), and I went with the pulled pork tacos—which were well seasoned. As we hung out, the dining room started to fill up, and we could tell this place draws a good crowd. At one point, we noticed a few flies and gnats buzzing around—not ideal and a little distracting during dinner. One highlight: they seem to host live performers on rotation, which would be good to catch one evening. Our server, Augusta, was nice but clearly juggling a lot—it seemed like she was covering the entire bar by herself. We had to flag her down to get the check. Overall, it was a decent experience. Wifey kinda enjoyed it more than I did—it had a casual charm that clicked more for her. For me, it leaned more into the elevated dive-bar lane. 3.5 rating

Read moreFood was alright. Service was a bit lack luster, although she was probably awesome she spent most of her time at another table and then ran around like a chicken with her head cut off when she realized she needed to actually take care of the other tables she had. I had to get up to actually ask for napkins because our server wasn't around, I asked for lemons for the shrimp and never got them, and my order was slightly wrong. I could tell that they were short staffed on the afternoon we came in, but I worked in the service industry for 15 years, and I also know when I'm not taken care of properly. I ordered a side ceasar salad and got a full one, and the food runner did nothing to correct it, but also, i didn't say anything to anyone else, so that's partly on me. They had run out of silverware by the time we walked in, so they were rolling, and that left us feeling even more neglected while we waited for our check for at least 20 minutes. With that being said, the whole vibe was nice. The upstairs bar/patio is cool, and the back seating area was also nice. All the drinks we got were ok. I definitely would not order one of the adult juice boxes again, value for those were goid im sure but neither of the ones we tried were up my flavor alley, also they didnt have any menu drinks with gin in it, which was weird for the type of restaurant that was. I could have ordered a classic, but I always like to see what the bartenders have come up with. The food was good. Specifically, the goat cheese fire roasted tomato app. You get 4 little pieces, and they are amazing. We also got the shrimp appetizer, but it was peel and eat nothing amazing there, really. Cocktail sauce was good, tastes homemade, maybe? We did the shared taco plate. Good value, even though the only taco I actually liked was the cod (the sauce was amazing on them). Tuna needed salt, and I personally didn't like the skirt steak with queso taco at all, but that's just my own personal preference. I would eat here again just because of the one appetizer alone. This place has the potential to be amazing, but our experience was not spectacular or anything, to...
