Roebling Bridge Murals by Robert Dafford — Attraction in Covington

These are probably one of the lesser known murals in Greater Cincinnati, yet these are some of the biggest, best, and most detailed.

These are in one of those areas, where if you're not on the water, and aren't sure where they are, you're going to have a hard time finding them. Yes, you can see them from the water, which I love! The separate themes, each depicting a certain important date, or decade, has as much detail as you can cram into a small (ok like 15 foot long) space. There's an Independence Day celebration, a horse race in which you can see every jockey's number and color. The attention to detail is just amazing for something this large.

The best thing about it, is that at the top of each scene, it has the year, or years, that it happened and a small plaque below it signifying the importance. This is a great place, for art and history lovers alike! Or if you're just looking for a change of scenery. Go on a little exploratory mission, next time you're down that way. You won't regret it.

This is an excellent collection of murals depicting the Cincinnati area's history. Anyone with an appreciation of history and/or public art should spend at least a half hour here (not just for the literal big picture, but also for nearly hidden details in some of them).
