Studio 6 Cypress, CA — Attraction in Cypress

Stayed here 5 nights with my wife and a friend while visiting Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm.||||Let's start with the room. The rooms at this motel have the new modern Motel 6 look with the green/gray colors and faux wood floors. The first room we were given had a bad lock on the door that wouldnt work and the second latch lock was missing. Luckily, I asked if there was another room available and was able to move. This room had a working lock and latch. The room itself was clean. Drapes had some holes in them, and it appears someone had broke the lock on the bathroom door at some point. The door was pretty beat up and the metal cover was missing from the lock. Not a big deal though. I am assuming this room was vacant for a while as there was a daddy long legs spider living in the shower that I am sure someone would have noticed if they were staying there. The A/C is an old pretty beat up wall unit that could use an update.||||There are some people that are obviously "living" in here for an extended period of time. The room directly above us had an assortment of plants in the window of the room, and out on the pathway by the door. The people in this room woke us up nearly every morning with the sounds of furniture moving around. Not sure exactly what was going on there. There were also some questionable people hanging around outside their rooms but they never did anything bad, it was just kind of awkward.||||This motel's biggest issue is parking and it caused us frustration a couple nights of our stay. The first 2 nights I was lucky enough to find a parking spot in the back of the lot, the only spot left in the entire lot. Night 3 was a different story. There were absolutely no spots left when we came back from Disney. There is a fire lane in the parking lot and that was even full of cars. I waited around for 10-15 minutes for the manager to show up (he was busy with a plunger in one of the rooms) and he wrote me out a parking pass to park in the adjacent restaurant, but only in the darkest area of the parking lot where no one could even see the cars. Luckily as I parked here I noticed someone leave the motel's parking lot and I moved by car back over there. On night 4, the parking lot was once again full, but no one was in the fire lane that was full of cars the night before. I pulled up here and a manager came out (it was never the same manger any of the days we were here) and told me I couldnt park there or in the restaurant lot now, I had to park clear across the street at some car mechanic......are you KIDDING me?!? Luckily for us he changed his mind 5 minutes later and allowed us to park in the fire lane so long as I moved the car at 8am. Great. I am on vacation and planned to sleep in for once and now I had to get up and move the car. The final night we were able to find a spot, so we didnt have to go through this circus act again.||||Overall the rooms are fine for the price. Everything in this area was expensive and I'd rather stay here than pay $30-50 more a night for a similar place down the road a few miles closer to the parks. The biggest issue here though is the parking. If you come during a less busy time of year this might not be an issue but during a busy time it is ridiculous and will cause you a headache when all you want to do is get in you...

I stayed at studio 6 Cypress CA for a total of six trips, spent more than $10k there this year. Each time I stayed for 3 weeks. For the 1st five trips, the stays were okay. Front office staff were nice and professional. The thing that needed to improve was the towels. They were very thin and felt more like rags than towels. (I brought my own towels so I did not care.) However, on the last trip, I encountered with a front office staff (I think his name was Zach). He was rude, very disrespectful, and unprofessional. There were several negative incidents from the start (but I thought just let it goes), but he pushed all the wrong buttons when our electronic door lock was not working. He acted like he was the owner and did not care about the customer's needs. He blamed me for having issues not being able to get into my room and came to him for help, Blamed me for not fixing the door lock issue with the dayshift staff. He sent my underaged son to look for unknown maintenance when I sent my son down to inform him that we still could not open the door after reprogramming the keys three times and asked him for help. He argued with me when I told him that he should not have sent my son to look for an unknown person. I was concerned about my son's safety after about 20 minutes of not seeing my son back. This staff has zero communication skills and is very self-centered. His style was "my way or the highway" even when we are the paying customers. Having this type of personality at the front office is a loss for his company. Because of having untrained/unqualified staff, I no longer want to stay at this Studio. I was scared for our safety staying there after the incident since he could access my room. We made sure all three locks were engaged each night after that. Other potential customers should think twice before staying there. BTW, I have told the manager about the incident. If any travelers think about staying at this Studio, please check to see if the Studio has corrected the issue to avoid...

I will get to why I gave this place 3 stars my stay here was great. The room was clean, it had a refrigerator, a toaster, the coffee pot, and all the kitchen stuff that you would need. The bed was uncomfortable for me because of my physical illnesses but but for anyone else the bed would be comfortable. It has a flat screen television with HBO and Showtime and a whole bunch of other channels. The fan in my bathroom was really loud and I told the manager and within 15 minutes maintenance came in and fixed it and it worked great. The little things like no latch on my door or the faceplate on my air conditioner all got taken care of in a efficient Manor. Housekeeping is amazing I have service dogs and they came in to clean my room and they moved my dog beds and cleaned underneath them and they just did an amazing job. Now to my three stars the manager is a really really nice person but for some reason there is a miscommunication and she told me I couldn't stay here and she gave me 3 hours to leave. I told her I had no problem with housekeeping coming in she would not accept my payment and she told me that I had to leave by 11 or she would call the police. An hour later I went back down to the office and I asked her if she was calling the police at 11 because I can't be out of here in that amount of time she said no and she accepted my payment 4 3 days and I found another hotel and I left. There was no issue with housekeeping but for some reason she felt there was it was totally uncalled for and totally unprofessional I had never seen her do that. The only other thing was on Saturday night there were two gunshots and a shotgun other than that it was quiet it was peaceful and it was a nice day with the exception of the people upstairs. If it were not for the manager I would stay here again. They do have a pet area for you to take your dogs...
