Another day on the road food tasting. Today we picked Itchitaru Ramen located in Cypress California.
The restaurant is located at the back of the strip mall. As we entered, we noticed about 8 patrons busy enjoying their food. The restaurant with about six tables. There is also a bar with private partitions to enjoy your meal in private.
As we entered we were warmly welcomed by the server and promptly seated. The server was knowledgeable when it came to the items on the menu.
We ordered Takoyaki, Garlic Bomb Ramen with pork, Avacado Bomb and a Peach tea.
The Takoyaki was absolutely fantastic looking and smelled great. They were deep fried to a crispy brown topped with Bonito shaving and sauce.
The Garlic Bomb Ramen was ordered with medium heat... a sip of the red broth was spicy, warm and addictive. The pork in the ramen was absolutely tender.
The next was the Avacado Ball. The avacado ball is deep fried in a batter which made it nice n crunchy then cut in half desseded and stuffed with cream cheese and crab meat, then topped with sauce. This combination of ingredients is absolutely YUM!! A must try.
Overall, a big thumbs up here at...

The ramen was still excellent, there was no more odd smell, and the waiter was very pleasant and attentive. I'm happily upgrading from 2 to 5 stars, as this visit was even better than the last few.
Old review: I really liked the food here, and have been here twice now and been impressed with the ramen and appetizers each time.
Unfortunately, the building itself reeks of sewage, so much so that we considered walking out within 10 seconds of entering the building. It smelled this way both times (several weeks between visits) and was really difficult to enjoy our meal while smelling sewage so strongly.
I am not seeing any other reviewers mentioning this except on Yelp, so I am leaving this review so that the owners hopefully notice and do something to fix the smell. I'd love to come back, but I will not be doing so until the smell issue is fixed. (And I'll happily update my review to 4 or even...
Read moreWent here to get my friend an early bday meal, the pork Shumai were really small(I think they were pre-made since the ones I've bought at the store are the same size) . The soba came with dried seaweed, portions of chicken, katsuobushi, bamboo shoots, and two eggs. This was a first for me because soba usually doesn't have things like this(First experience with soba with different toppings) and came with a very dark soup. Unfortunately the soup wasn't really edible, from what I could taste it was solid soy and maybe teriyaki sauce that was so much sodium I couldn't use it after the first couple of bites, combined with the dried seaweed, flakes and the extremely dry chicken(it was overcooked) it made it too dry without the soup. The bamboo shoots were nice as well as the two half eggs, and I did enjoy the actual soba noodles, and the milk tea I got was very tasty.
Overall if I got their soba again I'd probably ask to remove everything except the things I found tasty, I wouldn't even ask for the soup and I'd be fine. I'll have to review again and try their ramen to update...
