I had a highly disappointing experience with Goldmark, and I feel the need to share my frustration regarding how I was treated. Joseph, who I initially spoke with, made claims about my business being “too commercial” without any valid basis for this conclusion. Before the tour, I spoke with Joseph in detail about what my business involves, yet after hearing all the details, he still came to the conclusion that my business didn’t align with their criteria. Had he shared this with me upfront, it would have saved both of us time, but instead, I was blindsided by the denial.
Joseph mentioned multiple times that Goldmark offers commercial pricing, yet failed to offer it when rejecting my business. If my business is supposedly “too commercial,” why not extend the commercial pricing as you claimed to offer? This lack of transparency and clarity in their communication was incredibly frustrating.
My business is small-scale, hosting just one event a month with a profit of $1,221.25 after expenses. I only generate a small amount of extra income through personal shoe orders, so for Joseph to dismiss my business as "too commercial" is not only unreasonable, but it also feels discriminatory. All I was trying to do was find a home for my events, a space for my personal projects, and a place to run my business in a professional and sustainable way.
I will be posting this review to make others aware of my experience, and I strongly encourage you to proceed with caution if you're considering working with Goldmark. My experience was less than professional, and I was left feeling disregarded and misled by...
Read moreThe Goldmark cultural center has been such a blessing for me. It's a great concept of 2 large office buildings that have been transformed individually into studios instead of offices. They are accessible 24/7 and you have your own key to the building and your studio.
The studios range in size starting at 100 ft² (some have multiple rooms, some have sinks) they range from $250-$700 if I remember correctly.
They are at about 60% capacity with I think 70ish renters.
Currently there are sculptors, painters, metal workers, block printers, tattoo artists, and a masseuse I believe.
It could be any art that needs space such as dance or recording.
The building is aged, and can be quirky but it's worth the price.
The artists are from all walks of life, all talent levels, all ages and are so friendly and helpful. We help each other out and teach/learn from each other.
Classes are taught by an artist 1 Thursday a month and are open to the public. Subjects are numerous so follow them to see the schedule.
Art walks are open to the public every 3 months. All artists are in their studios with art demos/sales and discussion.

I've been there 6 months and have learned so much about business, pricing, techniques, where to get products. The collaboration alone is worth the rent.
Come see me if you end up there because of this review, it will make me smile.

Read moreI have walked by this place & recently noticed art was displayed on the exterior fencing of their patio. I found it to be a beautiful site & different but a closer look at each piece of the artists work was a display of talents. It makes you wonder what more there is to see inside & who all these artists are! Definitely a place to look into for inspiration as well as purchasing. What a great place for our neighborhood.I hope it keeps up finding clever ways to display outside & to bring the art artist & the public together...
