Used to be one of my fave Ihop locations until my most recent visit. My son has gluten allergies. I ordered him a gluten free waffle combo, letting the server know my son had an allergy. And ordered myself a regular one. The waitress brought the waffles to the table, and began handing one to my son. I asked, "is that the gluten-free one, and she specifically stated yes and proceeded to hand it to my son.
It looked different to me than their gluten-free waffles I'd seen, but its been awhile since we had been to an Ihop, so I went with it, trusting that the waitress wouldn't lie. I was wrong. She did.
My son ended up only eating a quarter of the waffle, saying it didn't taste right and he was full. I still didn't think much of it, as he had eaten a big snack before we got there, and he tried the butter pecan syrup, instead of regular.
Mind you during the course of our meal, the server was very dismissive, and rushing us. I noticed, but wasn't sure what to think of it, beyond assuming that she was likely a bit racist and didn't want to serve us... clearly In was right..... We ended up getting to go boxes, and the server brought the check. When I finally looked at the check, no gluten free waffle was ever rang up, only regular. Gf costs more. I know enough about restaurants to know that if the kitchen doesnt get a ticket for something, especially items that cost more, they're not making it. They go by the ticket. She ordered regular waffles for both of us.
I called the manager over and after looking at my son's waffle, he also confirmed that it definitely was not the GF version.
What's angering, is not that she made a mistake. That honestly was no big deal because it could've been corrected. My issue is that when I asked her when she came to the table to confirm, she straight up LIED. If she had forgotten, that was her opportunity to catch the mistake and correct it. Instead she lied and blew off the seriousness of an allergy. And was arrogant enough to believe I wouldn't notice it on the check.
The manager filled out an incident report, and only took half off the bill lol. Didn't offer to remake, nothing. Was seriously ridiculous. The level of service at this location has gone down tremendously. Its a rarity I go to ihop but when I do, I drive from wherever I am, to this one....
Read moreI am happy to update my previous review. This place is just as good as it was before!
They're probably always busy (20 minute wait from 12pm to 2pm Sundays) because they do such a good job. The wait stand/waiting list guy called the wait at about 20 minutes and was almost accurate to the minute.
Once seated, Kim - a waitress I'd had previously - took care of me, and the kitchen was VERY fast! They had a misstep on my order of French toast (I didn't want powdered sugar) and they had a fresh batch to my table in - had to be - 2 or 3 minutes! From the time my order was taken to on the table and correct, it was 10 or 11 minutes. And it was delicious as always!

Read moreI recently visited IHOP and ordered a Colorado omelette without mushrooms. I was told the omelette did not come with mushrooms, but while eating, I noticed mushrooms in my omelette. This was concerning because my wife had eaten some of it, and she has a mushroom allergy.
When I brought this to our waitress’s attention, she immediately handled the situation with care and professionalism, informing the manager (Michael). However, instead of coming over to personally apologize or show concern, Michael had the waitress relay that they could only remake the omelette and that “there’s nothing else he could do.” Considering this was a potential health risk, I felt it was appropriate to speak with him directly.
When Michael came over, his demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than apologizing, he said, “I’m not trying to be smart or anything, but if your wife feels any symptoms , the best I can do is call 911.” This response showed a lack of compassion and accountability for what could have been a serious situation.
The only positive part of this experience was our waitress, Josie, who provided outstanding service and showed genuine concern. She went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate her professionalism.
In contrast, Michael’s handling of the situation was unacceptable for someone in a management role. I strongly believe additional training in professionalism, customer care, and crisis handling is needed, as his response reflected poorly on the...
