Riviera Spa - Uptown Knox Travis Walk — Attraction in Dallas

Truly a bummer that I had such a horrific experience with this organization this morning. To be brief for those that do not want to read the full version, the scheduling process for me was a complete and total nightmare, and the customer service that I received in response to a mistake in scheduling on their part was extremely unprofessional. For those that want the full version, here it is: I initially scheduled the Valentine's Day special couples massage on on 1/30/2021 to take place on 2/13/2021. I called in one day before (2/12/2021) to inquire about whether or not there were additional services that myself and my husband could tack on to our couples massage to extend our experience at the spa. It has been an exhaustive week and I was wanting something a bit more comprehensive than just a 50 minute massage. After a long discussion with one of the spa employees, we came to the conclusion together that it made the most sense for me to book a facial at 10:30AM directly following the couples massage which was scheduled to begin at 9:00AM. For my husband, I booked the sauna experience at the same time (10:30AM) that I would be receiving my facial. I thought all was well in the world until the next morning (the day of our appointments). First and foremost, they sent me my appointment reminder text and email less than an hour before my appointment was to begin (not giving me much time to react/respond given that our massages were to start at 9:00AM on a Saturday). The text they sent me was correct in that it mentioned we had two appointments scheduled at 9:00AM (the massages) and two appointments scheduled for 10:30AM (the facial and the sauna session), however, the email stated that the sauna experience was at 10:30AM and the facial was at 3:00PM. I tried calling the spa many times, every single time it went straight to an automated voicemail stating that they were currently closed (not very convenient when you're trying to determine whether or not to leave your house for your incorrectly scheduled appointments). Finally, someone called me at 8:42AM and explained that they were not sure why the text system & the email system were communicating different things, and that I was in fact on their end scheduled at 3:00PM instead of 10:30AM for the facial. My question to her was, "why in the world would I schedule appointments at 9:00AM, 10:30AM, and 3:00PM? The entire reason for the facial and the sauna experience was to extend the amount of time that we would be at the spa following our massages." She proceeded to put me on the phone with the "shift lead" I was met with rudeness, unwillingness to accept the fact that they made a mistake and ultimately ruined our Valentine's gift, and lastly, she suggested no way to remedy the situation outside of cancelling the entire thing OR coming in at 7:00PM for my facial because they recently were notified that the 3:00PM technician was not going to come into work. Needless to say I did end up canceling the entire experience (while I was already halfway to my appointment in the car) and will never be using or recommending this spa to locals. There are plenty of better options with employees who actually use common sense in situations such as these when they occur. Whoever owns/operates this spa should probably figure out why their text reminders and email reminders are informing people of two totally different things. Furthermore, they might want to better train their staff on how to problem solve...

Rivera Spa is located in a beautiful shopping center in Dallas. There was plenty of parking and the Spa is located just a floor up from the stairs or elevator. The front view of Rivera Spa was very attractive and expressed the kind of luxury one expects from a Spa experience. The front lobby was beautifully decorated but had a sense of clean lines and surface area. We were greeting by the front desk staff with a smile and accommodating attitude. They were helpful and led us to the relaxation area where we would wait for our appointments. They made sure we had drinks of our choice and left us with a feeling of comfort. We filled out our intake forms via a tablet. Directly after we submitted our intake form the front desk staff member took our tablets and let us know who to be expecting for our services. I went first before my friend as we had the same Esthetician for our facials. I was greeted by Joslyn and she took me back to her room. As I was leaving the relaxation area I overheard the front desk staff member as my friend if he wanted a warm neck wrap while he waited. I thought that was a nice touch. Joslyns led me to her room. The hallways were dim and very quiet. Joslyns room was very nice with clean lines and a tidy appearance. The room was prepared for my services and she explained how to put on the smock and get comfortable on the table. My first service was waxing. The wax was not to hot and was perfectly warm. Joslyn was confident in her application of the wax and the removals was quick. We then moved on to the facial. Joslyns touch is very therapeutic and warm with intentions of healing. The series of lavish products plus her expertise left my skin glowing and clear. Her massage is just lovely. Wonderful job Joslyn! Thank you! After my service with Joslyn, I put on a lovely robe and was escorted to the relaxation area where I would wait for my friend to get his facial by Joslyn. I was checked on by the front desk staff to ensure I was comfortable. The next service was a Couples Massage. Both Massage Therapists greeted us by our names and told us who they were. Nook and Jaime. They led us to a beautiful couples massage room. The fireplace is a nice addition. This couples massage room was very open ensuring both therapist had plenty of room to maneuver and not crowd eachother. My Massage Therapist was Jaime. His welcoming compressions and therapeutic touch was very genuine and intentional of healing. He listened to me if I asked for more pressure and if I wanted more time on an area of tension. I would have to say my favorite part of the massage was the work he did on my neck and upper back. Light to medium pressure with lovely Swedish strokes where there wasn't an issue made me have an ebb and flow of focus and relaxation. Given my issues of tension and the fact I hadn't had a massage in a while he covered the bases and did a very good job. The CBD lotion was a very welcomed addition to my massage. Today I do not feel sore and am still enjoying the benefits of his work. Thank you Jaime. Overall Rivera Spa is a wonderful spa...

In the world of facials, I am probably the least qualified to give a review as this was my first ever. My friend and I wanted to do a spa day and picked Riviera Spa as it was recommended to us. We chose the facials and couples massage. We were greeted warmly at the door and were ushered into the waiting area where we filled out our forms and were served a nice glass of wine. Since we both wanted to use the same esthetician, my friend went first and I spent my time waiting comfortably sipping wine. I’ve never thought of myself as one who would get a facial, so as a crusty, 56 year old man, I had no clue what to expect. When my turn came, I assumed the position and instantly Joslyn Bundy, the esthetician, made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Throughout the procedure, her attention to detail and expertise created an even more relaxed atmosphere so much so, that I truly went into the “spa zone” and enjoyed the entire experience. Today (the next day) as I write this, my face feels clean and smooth so I know she did a fantastic job. For what it’s worth, I would highly recommend this young lady to anyone looking for a quality facial.

With the facials done, we went to the massage tables. My massage therapist was Nook Woods, and she gave me a fantastic combination deep tissue/Thai massage that incorporated much needed stretching and generous kneading of my tight knotted muscles. Though done on the table and not a mat, it was one of the best massages I’ve had. Her attention and focus to my high stress areas helped loosen me up and I feel fantastic. If you’ve never had a massage that incorporates stretching and the use of the masseur’s feet, knees and elbows, then I will tell you it’s an experience you’ll never forget and want over and over.
