#OurTexasStateFairAdventure 🎡🌽🎉

This year, my spouse and I had the most incredible experience at the Texas State Fair. It was truly a celebration of all things Texan, filled with excitement, delicious food, and unforgettable memories. #TexasPride #StateFairFun

As we entered the fairgrounds, we were immediately mesmerized by the vibrant atmosphere. The air was filled with the enticing aroma of deep-fried delicacies, and the sound of laughter and joy echoed through the crowds. It was a true feast for the senses. #FoodieHeaven #TantalizingAromas

One of the highlights of our visit was undoubtedly the food. From the moment we laid eyes on the iconic Fletcher's Corny Dogs, we knew we were in for a treat. The crispy golden batter, perfectly coating the juicy hot dog, was a taste sensation like no other. We indulged in a variety of fair classics, including funnel cakes, turkey legs, and fried Oreos. Each bite was a pure delight, leaving us craving more. #FairFoodFrenzy #CarnivalCuisine

But the fair was not just about the food. We also enjoyed exploring the different exhibits and attractions. We marveled at the intricate craftsmanship of the agricultural displays, showcasing the best of Texas's farming heritage. The livestock shows were a sight to behold, with majestic horses, adorable pigs, and impressive cattle. It was a reminder of the importance of agriculture in our great state. #ProudFarmers #TexasAgriculture

As the sun set, the fairgrounds transformed into a magical wonderland. The dazzling lights and vibrant colors created a captivating ambiance. We hopped on the Ferris wheel, soaring high above the fairgrounds, taking in breathtaking views of the entire event. The exhilarating rides provided us with an adrenaline rush that made us feel like kids again. #FerrisWheelThrills #AdrenalineJunkies

One of the most memorable moments of our fair adventure was witnessing the live entertainment. We danced along to the lively tunes of local bands, tapping our feet to the rhythm of Texas music. The performers showcased their incredible talent and had the crowd cheering and clapping in appreciation. It was a true celebration of the rich musical heritage of our state. #LiveMusicLove #TexasTalent

Throughout the day, we couldn't resist capturing the magic of the fair with our cameras. Every corner was a photo opportunity, from the whimsical carnival rides to the colorful displays. We documented our excitement and shared our joy with friends and family, spreading the spirit of the fair far and wide. #FairMoments #CapturingJoy

As the evening came to a close, we left the Texas State Fair with hearts full of happiness and cherished memories. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and a deep appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of our beloved state. The Texas State Fair truly embodies the spirit of Texas, bringing people together in a celebration of all that makes us proud to be Texans. #TexasForever #FairFunForever

If you're ever in Texas during the fair season, don't miss the opportunity to experience the magic of the Texas State Fair. It's an adventure that will leave you with a lifetime of cherished memories. #MustVisit #TexasStateFairMagic...

Sadly I have to update my review as the State Fair of Texas has gone downhill over the years. To start off with this location is not easy to get to especially during the fair timing. Access to and from the area can be very convoluted and congested with no traffic guidance and poor streets in and out. You cannot visibly see the fair from the main roads you can see the rides above the buildings but not the actual entries itself. Parking is horrible and overpriced. Accessible parking is almost never available and when they do have it available it is usually full of non-accessible parkers for other permitted uses such as livestock etc. Accessible parking is almost always not actually accessible and is further away than most of the other parking spots reserved for folks that are able. It is very rarely accessible friendly both in walking distance and smoothness and ramp access. Parking security is also poor and they have break-ins routinely. Security at the location is horrible and they routinely let weapons through. Just last year somebody brought in an illegal firearm as a convicted felon and shot someone at the park. They tout that they have boosted security this year however all they did was remove the lawful ability for citizens to carry. The person that shot someone last year wasn't even legally allowed to have the weapon. Not only that their security last year didn't catch that person bringing the weapon in. Even though they had thorough screening according to them. Food is overpriced and the pricing system is convoluted intentionally to get you to overspend. Coupons are not valued at the same as dollar values as they used to be. When they do match up to dollar values at times you still have overpayment of things quite a bit due to the markup. They make excuses as to why but having worked internal to the State Fair of Texas that is all a lie. Overall I would not recommend attending the State Fair of Texas especially with this year with the decreased safety given that you will have far less aware and alert individuals watching for things. If it was a safe as they claim then the law enforcement officers would have been able to prevent the issues that occurred last year. No amount of officers or security screening measures will stop a situation if they don't have as many capable folks available to handle it as possible. The area State Fair of Texas is in is very high in crime and I do not recommend traveling...

Incredibly overrated. You have to “buy” tickets for cash to do anything and they are not refundable. Red flag of greed and a sign of what your getting into. Everything is incredibly overpriced. Which I could forgive, BUT there’s no shade. So you spend the whole day dehydrated and dying in the sun to spend 8 bucks on a cup of soda to stay cool every 20 mins. That’s your entire day. Surprised they aren’t sued from elderly folk keeling over because the set up is intentional. Half the animals for show are kept in tiny cages or tied up to a wall. It’s inhumane. Animals tried to attack fair people. Even people walking by. A lady almost got her eyeball plucked out by an ostrich for walking by. A goat tried to bite my hand. Etc. They had a weird very broken parade…. It was embarrassing. Too crowded. Attractions are not diverse. Few rides. Cars, trucks, cars, repeat. The same mini games. Same food with same prices. Luckily we took the train because traffic was a nightmare. We eventually got tired of the tourist trap and went next door to an actual bar/restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Tried to go shopping… ignored. Then yelled at by a salesman skin head. Then chuckled at and removed from the display by a saleswoman. Me and my husband wanted to buy a chair. Combined income 200k a year. But apparently the diabetic gross folks next to us were the real potential customers. Pass! Actively discouraging people from attending to save themselves some grief. The bird show didn’t even have the main speaker. Most the seating was directly in the sun and no shade. We all had to sit on concrete and kill our backs. Go at your own risk. The best part of the fair...

Went to see the crafts. Huge disappointment. First it was difficult to find where they were, and went to three different buildings before finally locating them. Specifically the knit and crochet crafts.... There were some there that DEFINITELY should have won. But there was a ton of stuff that had ribbons that didn't show any technical mastery, no special stitches, or particular excellence at the craft. One winner wasn't even from Texas. She was from Oklahoma. Enter YOUR OWN state fair!!! Second, there were several items that had other winners' ribbons pinned to them, such as a doily who had its ribbon pinned to the nearby sweater. If I'd been the owner of the sweater I'd have been livid that you're poking holes in my item and weakening the integrity of my item with someone else's ribbon. Thirdly It's very clear that whomever they have judging the fair, knows nothing at all about the craft. Get people who actually know a thing or two about the items they judge. Fourthly, how is it that some categories have 15 honorable mentions? Fifthly, you're making money off all the entries, at least PRINT the ribbons. All the ribbons, even the top ones, had the names of the winners on sticky labels that in six months to a year will brittle and fall off and leave the winner with a ribbon and a black square at the top. So shoddy and really really poor manifestation. It's no better than a participation trophy. I could literally go to Wal mart, buy a ten pack of ribbons, and print my own "winner" labels and nobody would be the wiser. Make it worth the winning. Do Better.

went to the fair friday oct. 15th during the last weekend they open. me & my mom took a cab to get to & from the fair. if you are going to say that gates 1 & 5 is where rideshare pickup/dropoff is, you need to make your employees aware of that. this lady working at the gates practically tried to stop the cab from moving with her bare hands and told us cabs weren’t allowed although the website said otherwise. there are no distinct labeled areas either for rideshare & paired with the fact a ton of streets & u-turns are blocked off made getting picked up a nightmare. the fair itself was alright. it is significantly more expensive now that coupons are $1 each. we bought $60 worth of coupons 3 times and blew through the first 2 sets just with food. i had a cuban sandwich, a bag of eggrolls, a gordita, pineapple honey whip, fried pineapple rings (not pictured), pork shots, agua fresca, and a jalapeno & cheese corny dog from fletchers (not pictured). all of the food was delicious. the eggrolls were tiny which was disappointing and the corndog made me puke not too long after i got home. i wish we got there earlier because trying to navigate shoulder-to-shoulder crowds is a nightmare. i intended to get on rides in the evening but my plan backfired on me. i spent over an hour waiting in lines to buy coupons and waiting to get on 1 ride. i was too frustrated to try navigating to other parts of the fair to ride more so we left without doing everything we planned to. overall our experience this year is okay, probably wont return for a while.
