The Dallas skyline view from this trail is simply unparalleled. It offers a breathtaking panorama that will make you fall in love with our city all over again.

But the views aren't just urban! Prepare to be delighted by the abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of birds soaring overhead and turtles basking lazily in the sun. You'll find several serene ponds along the way, connecting beautifully with the majestic Trinity River, offering tranquil spots to pause and soak it all in.

Whether you're a runner, biker, or just love a good stroll, you'll appreciate the miles and miles of beautifully paved paths. They're perfect for all activities and offer a smooth, enjoyable journey.

Planning Your Visit? Here are some pro tips:

Parking is a breeze! You'll find plenty of convenient spots in various locations right under the bridge.

Embrace the sun! This trail gets a lot of glorious sunshine, which means not much shade. For the most comfortable experience, we highly recommend heading out either early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

It's cool that Dallas tried to give people a place to take in the downtown skyline and it's cool that it's open 24h/day but unfortunately the main power lines going to the city also run directly down the whole canal and obstruct any picture you take. If you go down into the canal past the power lines you're then too low to get a good picture. If you plan on getting one of those epic long exposure Cityscapes then you better be good at Photoshop. Also, all of the pics you see with the reflection of the city in what looks like a river, they were all taken during flooding. Normally the canal is a creek at best and it's at the bottom. So unless it's been flooding recently don't expect those epic...

Great place to go running and cycling, especially early in the morning. Though I will advise ladies that go alone to keep your wits about you because this area is known to have some homeless people around it. I have only gone with friends so that I'm not completely alone but I'm sure if you stayed aware of your surroundings you'd be OK. I recommend wearing a good amount of bug spray as the mosquitos here are relentless. Came home with 10 bites. Also there's not really any shade so if you come for a run or cycle it should be done early so the sun doesn't evaporate you. Nice place to watch the sunrise...

This is a very cool overlook that provides a nice view of the Dallas from the West looking East, you can see the Towers of America building as well as many other skyscrapers. Multiple bridges are visible from here including IH30. From the overlook you can see part of the trinity, and take advantage of the very large sidewalks. Went here on the 4th of July for a view of fireworks 🎆, not realizing that this is an overlook of Dallas and they don't shoot off large fireworks in the city lol... There were a lot of people with the same idea. You can see some fireworks to the West but mostly to the South from here.
