My group and I went on Sunday, which was lovely to find out that it was two floors. We did NOT buy our tickets in advance (this will be important in a few moments) so all 4 of us bought them at the desk. The associate asked us if we were buying tickets to the The South Florida Film Forum, we said no just for the museum since two floors was all the time we had to explore before our dinner.
COOL! None of them disclosed that half of the museum would be closed off due to this event (the first floor). Mind you, we started on the second floor thinking we'd be able to work our way down. We went about our afternoon with zero clue!
The exhibits were AI-riddled. Hayao Miyazaki is absolutely right about the usage of AI. It felt so void of any human touch...there was one installation that printed out AI-generated images (same ones you see on Etsy drop-shippers) and just felt so icky for a museum to do that...Another exhibit with a forest landscape also looked so Chat-GPT-esque...we refused to take more photos and ultimately decided to leave the 2nd floor and go explore the 1st floor.
The moment we went down, an associate with a neck tattoo told us that we were not allowed to roam the first floor...what? She was incredibly rude to one of my girl friends, threatened us that we'd be kicked out. I stated loudly that we did NOT pay full-price tickets for only half the experience. We left not only disappointed in the exhibits themselves, but also the lack of service.
We did not recommended this museum to our friends, there are better museums curated by artists that pride themselves in real, tangible art, not the void of human...
Read moreMAD Arts in Hollywood, Florida, offers a truly unique and engaging experience that stands out in the South Florida art scene. The exhibits are far from static, drawing you in and making you a part of the creative journey. I was thoroughly impressed by the interactive nature of most installations, which truly enlightened me to new forms of artistic expression. My family and I felt completely immersed, and the experience left a lasting impression. While the overall visit was fantastic, I do have a minor reservation. The elevator and the subsequent flashing lights were jarring and could be a concern for some visitors. It would be beneficial for the venue to include a clear disclaimer at the entrance, as this could be an issue for individuals with photosensitivity or epilepsy. Despite this small hiccup, the experience was overwhelmingly positive. MAD Arts is a must-see destination for anyone visiting South Florida who is interested in the intersection of technology and art. It's a fascinating and entertaining journey that my family and I would...

I want to start by saying that this is just my personal opinion, and I respect that others may have a different perspective. My visit to MAD Arts was not what I expected. I was hoping for an interactive and engaging experience, but instead, I found the majority of the exhibits to be unsettling and, at times, difficult to interpret. While I understand that art is meant to provoke thought and emotion, this felt more like an attempt to disturb rather than inspire.
If you enjoy obscure or dark-themed art, you may find value in what’s presented here. However, for those looking for a more interactive, immersive, or scientific approach to modern art, this may not be the right place. The museum does have a few interactive exhibits, but they are limited, and the overall tone of the space leans heavily toward the abstract and unsettling.
Again, this is just my experience, and I am not trying to discredit the artists or the museum. However, for visitors who expect a more engaging or family-friendly atmosphere, I wouldn’t...
