This is a great option for yoga studios in the Dayton area. There are a variety of classes offered at the Brown Street location. As with any larger yoga studio, there are a variety of teachers with different styles and modalities so whether or not you'll find a teacher you love is largely subjective. But with so many teachers and different classes being offered, you're likely to find your groove. The owner of the studio, Devon, is a conscientious teacher and business owner who seems to prioritize staff training and responsiveness. Although not every teacher may be your cup of tea stylistically, you can be assured that the teachers are competent and properly trained.
Day Yoga has many options for purchasing class passes and memberships making it very competitively priced compared to other studios in the area.
I have not been to the Beavercreek location, but can review the Brown Street and Dixie locations based on personal experience.
The Brown Street location has two large and one small studio. They are comfortable to practice in. There are no mirrors in this studio. This studio offers a full range of classes including power, barre, and gentle classes. There is a changing room (just big enough for one person at a time) but no shower, something to keep in mind if you're attending a work-up-a-sweat class and will need to clean up afterwards. There is one bathroom easily accessible in the main studio and another bathroom in the barre studio that you would only use if you were practicing in that studio. Allow enough time to find parking and get into the studio when you plan for your arrival.
The Dixie location in Vandalia focuses on offering gentle, restorative, and yin. You won't (yet) find a power class in Vandalia. There is only one studio room at this location but it is large and comfortable to practice in and has no mirrors. Make sure you arrive on time for your class because generally it is only staffed by the instructor who locks the door when class begins. There is a large parking lot at this location and parking isn't...
Read moreThis sunny, intimate space was the "birthplace" of my yoga journey in 2013 and to this day it still holds a very special place in my heart. If you are a beginner (or even an expert) this is undoubtedly an ideal place to find a yoga "home." Devon (Schmidt) is a kind owner/instructor with a lovely spirit who has an incredibly knowledgeable staff in the ways of yoga as well as the overall wellness of the mind and body.
Day Yoga Studio is an extremely uplifting place with very spacious practice rooms and clean, accommodating facilities. Aside from being vastly knowledgeable the instructors are very friendly and encouraging, and they've always been helpful in providing modifications for certain poses that may be challenging to some.
I've learned a great deal of beginner and intermediate flows and poses over time from the unique instructors I've been blessed to meet from this place. Had it not been for this studio my yoga journey would not be as longstanding as...
Read moreHaving just moved to Ohio from the Tucson area, finding a new yoga studio has been quite a challenge. Finally after a month of searching all over the Dayton Metro area I have had success! Day Yoga does it for me. Well worth the half hour each way drive. The studio is large, clean, and run in a professional manner. There are morning, noon, and evening classes offered with a nice diversity of styles and ability levels. If you like a good challenge, try Brandy or Yusef's class. They will yo you up...
