T.J. Maxx — Attraction in Delray Beach

I am a frequent shopper at T.J. Maxxx and usually I am so excited to see what new finds I am able to come across and shop here. However, today I went in for a simple return which I never return things, but received a broken necklace and a misshaped purse/bag. So I went in and received very off putting service from the Manager “Jen” right away. She was so rude I almost couldn’t believe she was a manager for how nasty she was treating me. I was still nice because I thought maybe s had a rough day. She made a comment after I said I wasn’t trying to be difficult and I appreciated her assistance, that she in fact thought that I came in JUST to give her a hard time, which I was completely genuine, smiling & nice from start to finish. She made comments about how my purchases WITH receipt from 7-15-22 we’re NOT “about 2 weeks ago” and I stated that I was still within their 30 day policy. The store manager came to assist and she was rude as well. Told me there was nothing she could do for me and when I asked for a higher up number to contact all the sudden she was able to give me a store credit, when I paid cash for the order 17 days prior. This was a bummer because I spend a lot of my hard earned $ here and have never been treated so poorly by staff here. Not sure if I will return because of this. The girls on the floor and jewelry counter are the best and have amazing customer service skills. I unfortunately cannot say the same for most of the cashiers and every manager I have ever spoken to there. No accountability when they are wrong. I typically come to the store on a whim and type my TJ Maxx card number in. However, the managers don’t seem familiar with how Thai works and it’s sad because o have been told multiple times “we don’t do that” but the employees are more seasoned and have to correct the manager. How is that?! During Christmas times a manager got an attitude with me over it and refused to apologize when she was wrong. I myself am a manager for many years and have apologized when I’m right. Mostly because perception is reality but when you’re straight up wrong and not kind about it, that leaves a bad taste. I’ll be writing to corporate about this. It shouldn’t be.
