I would give 0 stars if it were possible. I trusted the manager/ personal trainer in charge of this building waa honest and ethical. We'd agreed on several training sessions. I paid for half of them up front and then had recurring weekly charges afterwards. I ended the payments from my end when I'd paid out through what we agreed. Then she told me that I owed more money. So I gave a card # and it was then charged for 9 more sessions then I'd ever been told I would be charged. She continuously evaded my question of how much extra had been charged and how many sessions we had left to train together. (It was hard to keep track as I was incredibly ill in the hospital for a month and she spends about a week or two away from the gym every month) After five months I realized that I had to do something myself because my six month pre-paid membership had ended and she never transferred the funds into another 3-6 month contract. I decided to look up how much I'd actually been charged. Instead of the agreement of a little under 700$ for nine sessions of private training. I'd been charged 1200 Dollars for seventeen sessions. I then contacted her asking why there wasn't accountability or answers for where my money was for the hundredth time. (This was a topic I brought up every time I saw her from November till today) I was told that she had chosen to charge me for 14 sessions of training, reaching into my pocket without my consent and paying herself for 5 more sessions then I agreed to. She then proceeded to explain that she was going to give me prorated access to the gym till I move away to Dallas with the remaining balance. It then occurred to me that she had reinstated payments to my account, stolen my money and never answered any of my questions about how many sessions we'd done or how much money needed to be refunded. Her choices to be incredibly deceptive are a profound breach of trust as a client. There's never a reason to deceive someone into paying for training sessions they don't want. What's worse is when I asked for information on who to contact about her unethical behavior, she essentially gave me an email that she will be the only one responding to. I've talked to many clients who have suffered from over charges or surprise fees and took the liberty of contacting the authorities necessary.
What's most incredible is that after robbing me, she proceeded to try and evade paying me back the money I never authorized to be charged... Not that most of it was contractually agreed upon anyway ...
Fair warning, avoid this gym. The equipment is falling apart, the restrooms all have a leak somewhere in the plumbing. The temperature control of the building is never adequate. Aside from that it's a nice little collection of folks who workout there and I've become close friends with dozens of great people from that gym.
It's truly a disappointing situation. Consider...

I felt embarrassed when someone unexpectedly walked in on me in the restroom, even though I had locked the door. The person was in and out quickly, so I didn’t get a chance to see who it was. After relocking the door, I finished up and tested the lock, noting that a key was required on the other side to unlock it. I decided to talk to the manager about the incident.
I began by suggesting that he should practice knocking before entering and assumed he was the one who had walked in. He denied it and then bent over to interact with his computer. I assumed he was checking footage, which was later confirmed.
So I moved on, I asked if anyone else in the building had a key. At that moment, he seemed distracted and took a while to answer me, saying "no."
Realizing it might not be someone with a key, I mentioned that there could be an issue with the lock and which bathroom I had come out of, suggesting he might want to check it. After a few moments of him staring at the screen without responding, I decided to walk away, feeling a bit worked up and irritated by the situation, simply trying to let it go.
To my surprise, he came out to the parking lot as I was pulling away to stop my car and told me that it was a guest who had walked in, that the door was open (it wasn’t), and that I shouldn’t accuse people of things that didn’t happen. His tone was angry, and then he walked away.
While I can understand his position and that he might have felt accused initially, I believe that if he had spent a moment paying attention to our conversation instead of staring at his computer screen, he would have realized that I was an upset guest trying to figure out why the door had been opened. His opportunity to address the issue was in his office, not in the parking lot. I didn’t ask for or care about any footage.
I initially assumed he was the one who had tried to open the door for cleaning purposes, as I frequently visit AF gyms and rarely see any staff working in the evenings unless that’s exactly what they are doing: cleaning. That’s why, when he said no, I moved on to wondering if someone else had a key and then pointed out a potential issue with the lock.
His reaction left a sour taste in my mouth. Even though I might have ruffled his feathers, he did not try to empathize or seem interested in finding solutions. Be cautious if you are a guest at this location; if you express frustration for any reason, management might follow you into the...
Read moreThere should be an option for no starts. I actually came to this gym and felt comfortable for a good amount of time, I even signed up for a personal trainer which I not to the problem here everything was always smooth. The trainer and I were communicative from the start with my schedule. But roughly around the last year when the membership had roughly ended I had personal problems that resulted in me not coming in at all. ALL WHILE I was STILL PAYING for the membership. The trainer called me last year and asked brief questions about possibly continuing in a month. I Figured we were going to meet up and talk about the membership, by the end of the month for some issues I had to attend to, I come to find out the payment was still resumed after the month I never got a call r email back about scheduling a time. I later ended up loosing my job and had problem back home in another country I sent the staff and email about having life situations happened. Leading to pay the un amount until the end of the contract, or 30 day policy. This is ALL WHILE I'M still a college student who has to pay her own college tuition. WHY is that having to cancel a membership so difficult, if I had died in a accident would I still be receiving endless messages and email about the cancelation charges? DO I actually not have a right to cancel when I need to especially under emergency circumstances? I get to an extent there are agreements but it should also be common sense that life situations happen in unexpected times. This is ridiculous I got a bit of a money from a last check from the last job and instead of using it to pay for my college tuition the Gym membership got charged their last desperate money they wanted. The agreement to cancelation needs to change, this so unfortunate regarding how nice their...
