I love this place! I have been coming consistently for over 8 years as a cornerstone of my routine for a healthful mind and body. Unlike most yoga classes, holding the posture has developed my focus, determination and awareness… my main objective for choosing yoga. I have never been a fan of “workout yoga,” where you bounce around with weights in your hand, therefore, I selected Bikram yoga. I’m lucky to have a studio that adheres to the proper application of Bikram, and they do an incredible of all the details making each class easy to return to because I know what to expect because they deliver from class to class, instructor to instructor. What this practice has done for my mental stability and physical body is incredible. I started after having 5 kids, since then I’ve lost all of my baby weight (30lbs) and my skin and flexibility have been withstanding the test of time. I can see myself doing this for a lifetime.

Wanted to try this out as yoga helped me out a lot before my stroke and wanted to get back into it but seeing the lack of different bodies (and colors) in the pictures made me feel unwelcome, what really drove the unwelcoming atmosphere home was the arbitrary, inflexible and a belittling “rules”, meaning no accommodations for people with disabilities or beginners that may not be able to perform certain poses, also nothing but water allowed? What’s it to you if I bring a sports drink or “coconut waters” to the studio in my own water bottle, do you get to take sips from my bottle to decide if it’s allowed? No leaving for emergencies prior to getting permission from a teacher? they claim to be a “college” but have high-school rules. This studio is in a sketch part of town to be acting like the Cherry Creek studios. What an unpleasant business.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but I have been coming around this place long enough to know that the studio owner has a solid education and background and most definitely understands the philosophical concepts of yoga. That said, she doesn't treat anyone with kid gloves or waste energy being inauthentic for anyone else's comfort. Bikram is an inherently structured and disciplined style of yoga and anyone who practices is expected to respect that, period. Finally, this is a small business (key word, business) and as such there are boundaries in place with regard to things that are provided complimentary and those which are not. Mat spray is not included.

This is the only legitimate Bikram yoga studio in Denver. I've done Bikram for over 10 years, practicing in New York, Chicago, Denver, and Boulder, and this to me is the only studio in the Denver area that provides an authentic Bikram experience. I've read the negative reviews on here, and I very strongly disagree with the points being made. The instruction here is top notch, and unlike other studios in town, the room is usually hot enough to gain the true benefits of Bikram yoga (I've practiced in much, much hotter studios, but this is the hottest in Denver). I completely disagree with anyone who says that this is a "boot camp" or whatever; they obviously haven't been to the same studios I've been to. I'd say this place offers a nice balance between the studios whose objective it is to make you regret ever having been born and those who cater to the masses who don't understand or appreciate the benefits of being challenged in your yoga practice. I find the instruction to be on point without being overbearing or overly critical (maybe some people are just too sensitive). If you're a Bikram yogi who is new to Denver, don't waste your time trying the other studios in town; you won't be satisfied. My only critique is that I wish sometimes, just like once in a while, they'd have a class where they'd really crank the heat, even if it meant I'd have to sit out a few postures. Sometimes I feel like I get the most benefit from those...
