This was our first time ever here as my friend and I were in search of somewhere we haven't tried yet. I checked the reviews online, and all the positive posts did not lie. Hidden Still Spirits was great. My friend and I went in at 2:30 and there were a few tables already seated. We were greeted by the hostess Bella. Bella was amazingly sweet and delightful with a huge smile. We were seated in a booth near the bar, and the seats were very comfortable. Our server, Julissa, greeted us pretty quickly and was also sweet and delightful. I ordered a martini called the Orange Dreamsicle, and that was delicious. My friend had ordered a couple of drinks, but they were unfortunately out of certain items as this establishment is going through a drink menu change. She settled on a maple old-fashioned. It was very strong but still good. For our food, we started with salads, which were both really delicious and large. I had the beet salad, and my friend ordered the peach and watermelon salad. This one was very refreshing and mine was really good. For our main dishes, we shared the Maryland Pitt beef sandwich and the Cubano. Both were served on fluffy brioche rolls and were great. The beef sandwich had horseradish sauce on it with pickled red onions and bacon jam. It was delicious!! The Cubano had honey mustard, pulled pork, pickled red onions, and pickles. Again, fantastic!! For dessert, we each had the pineapple upside down cake. WOW, sooooo good. I'm glad we didn't share this because it was too good to share. Get your own!!
HSS is decorated simply with beautiful lighting, a couple of tv's over the bar, and also have an outdoor patio out back. Nothing pretentious here at all. Great hostess, great service, great food. We will definitely be back again, but next time, we will try the dinner options. (Dinner started at 4:00)
All in all, 5 stars. Great...
Read moreGood experience. My wife and I ate here tonight for a Valentine's dinner with my wife. We were immediately seated upon entering. The hostess at the front cou ter was very nice and took us upstairs to be seated. The only issue I had was we had a 4pm reservation, which was right around the time the sun started going down, and right across from me was a window with the sun right in my eyes. I moved over to another chair at the table, but as the time went on, the sun really took hold of not only me at my table but the people behind us as well. Should just get a curtain, and that would solve that problem, no biggie.
The food and service were great. Our waitress was very attentive and felt like she enjoyed doing her job. They had a Valentine's Day menu, but we opted for the regular menu as we felt the Valentine's menu was a but limited. We got the Kung pao fried sprouts for an appetizer along with the bread service. Both were equally tasty and yummy. We also got a side salad and a side ceasar salad. Both were pretty large for side salads, but no issues as they both were good.
For dinner, my wife had the salmon stir fry, and I had the short rib. Again, both equally good. One thing I would say is that for my short rib, it tasted kind of dry and felt it was missing something like some sort of sauce or something to help with the dryness. But the tenderness was on point. No knife is needed. Just poke with a fork and pull away. Yum.
Overall, my wife and I had a very nice experience and would be back again to try some of their other entrees. Thank you for a nice Valentine's Day...
Read moreThe building looks fantastic. Wide open with a lot of great steel work and has a great second floor with a nice view of the restaurant below. I ordered an old fashioned which was very well made. It had a single round ice sphere and it looked like the cherries were squeezed then put on a toothpick for later enjoyment. We started with the Still Fries which were also very good, but made me wish I did not substitute my Jerry Burgers fries for a side salad. The Still Fries had a queso cheese and bacon that really made them delicious. I was very surprised at the size of the side salad when it came out and was again thankful for my original decision to avoid a second order of fries with my meal. The Jerry burger was very good and my table companions also enjoyed their Shrimp Po-boy and their Pork Carnita Tacos. The Po-boy had a hard roll which made it a little difficult to eat though. The service was a little slow, the waiter wouldn't look at our table when visiting other tables next door, so I sat without a drink for longer than I would have liked. We also had an odd experience with the menu, usually we have trouble picking between 2 or 3 items on the menu, but here we struggled to find 1 thing we thought would satisfy us. We still enjoyed our meals, but it will be hard to return in the near future since there wasn't anything else that left me wanting more, so I will likely return when I'm in the mood for a Jerry burger again, but I do plan to keep any eye on their social media for specials that seem worth a...
