PA DanceSport Ballroom — Attraction in Derry Township

PA DanceSport Ballroom is a gem among dance studios. We have been involved in ballroom dancing both at the social and competition level for 23 years and have worked with high profiles professional in the Dance Sport Community. We have found the quality and professional level of instructions at PA DanceSport second to none. While most studios focus either on social or competition dancing, Pa DanceSport does both well. What makes this studio so unique, however, that it endeavors to individualize the program to the agenda of the student. This is accomplished because of the outstanding communication ability of the staff and management. The facility, too, is outstanding; non only is the floor large and unobstructed, but the floating floor is oh so kind to the legs and joints. PA Dance Sport far exceeded my expectations. I went with my father for lessons for our father-daughter dance. Our instructor was Samantha, and she blew us away. We just wanted a very basic choreography to go with "In My Life" by the Beatles. We wanted something to do during the dance, but nothing too hard that we would be nervous. Samantha totally nailed the assignment. When we got to our first class, she already had the choreography all set. The choreography was exactly what we wanted, difficulty wise. She gave us lots of good tips from eye contact, smiling, and even what to do if I accidentally stepped on my dress. She was very kind, professional, and communicative. If you're looking for some harder choreography, they do that as well. (We saw some other students at the end of our lesson.) So whatever you're looking for, I think PA Dance Sport will exceed...

This ballroom is the BEST in Pennsylvania! All staff and customers are very warm and welcoming to anyone who enters their doors...first-time dancers, newcomers, and "old pros". They offer a variety of group lessons along with private ones. Each Wednesday and Friday they have a group lesson, before the social dancing - entrance price includes both. I've met drop-ins who are on vacation in the Hummelstown-Harrisburg-Hershey area from many other states and each one has expressed how friendly everyone is when they visit and they all say they will come back when in the area again. The playlists are versatile including all the best of ballroom songs to dance to and requests are welcome.
