First, the location is great! The smallness of the hotel is nice so you’re not tripping over 1,000 people like The Hershey Lodge. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and most of the staff were really nice and helpful. Next, the breakfast. Nothing was remotely healthy. They had bagels, waffles, muffins and yogurt. Nothing gluten free, or dairy free at all. It’s the little things too. Like smart balance butter spread, and no real butter. That fake butter stuff is so unhealthy for you. Finally, and this is because they are new, I’m sure, but it wasn’t really the fact that their elevator wasn’t in service, but the way one of the people handled the situation. I’m disabled, and can’t walk up and down stairs. They had already checked us in and were directing us to the stairs before they mentioned this little tidbit of no elevator. When I said, I’m sorry, I can’t go up and down the stairs. The guy was super nice and said, let’s try to move you into a room on this floor. The other woman said, “is that on your profile?” What? Me being disabled? I don’t think you can put that on your profile… either way. My response was also, “ is this listed on the hotel’s website?” We could have chosen a different hotel, or at least called ahead and requested a room on the first floor instead of being made to feel like it’s somehow my fault for not knowing their elevator didn’t exist. (He said, it’s not in yet). If they couldn’t move us, we would have to leave and go somewhere else. Luckily, we arrived just after 3pm so they could accommodate us. I guess we’d stay again, but with complete understanding that we need to make this request ahead of time, and that we would need to factor breakfast somewhere else into our daily planning and budget. Kind of disappointed in Hilton for this one. Also… the tub wouldn’t drain, so I popped off the plug and pulled out gobs of dried paint and paper… obviously the hotel had just been remodeled, they may want to watch their contractors...
Read moreDo not book this hotel! We stayed from July 31-August second.. our original stay was until August 3rd.||We originally booked the hotel when it was the Best Western.. the pool was beautiful in the pictures!| |Several people complained about the pool on July 31st. The receptionists were unaware that the pool was money green! I made them go outside and right away they called the owner and manager to close down the pool because of the algae bloom in the pool. At 9pm the manager threw shock in the pool. In addition to this the original room we were in our tub didn’t drain. We had to stick a razor in it to drain and a guest walked into our room because the adjoining door wasn’t locked, The receptionist were amazing to move us to an upper floor with no adjoining door.||August 1st still money green! August2nd we called corporate to inform them that the manager threw shock in the pool and it was still green. They called the manager and he told them that the pool was fixed! When it clearly wasn’t. The manager proceeded to deactivate our room keys leaving my son and nephew in the room alone while we were about to come in the hotel and couldn’t. Someone let us in. Then the kids let us in the room. I we t to my vehicle and once again couldn’t get I the hotel, I had to climb through bushes to knock on the windows to the room we were in. My sister said wait a minute I want to try the keys. Thst is when we realized he deactivated the keys. My sister went to him and he said I kicked you out of the hotel… he was on the phone with customer with some one and my sister yelled The pool is money green! However the hacuzzi is soarkling clean!||This manager did not care about the health, safety and well- being of the guests! He hung the phone up on Corporate...
Read moreI don't normally write negative reviews, but this one was necessary -- ||This hotel is very convenient to Hershey Park, but, if you can stay elsewhere...please do. I was in town to see Chris Brown in concert at HersheyPark Stadium, and this hotel was in close proximity. I had previously stayed at a Spark hotel in Charlotte, NC, and it was a wonderful experience, so this hotel made sense (...until it didn't). ||My room was on the first floor, but check-in was on the 2nd floor and there was not an elevator to get there. There were two options; take the stairs or drive to get to the back. I got lost going to my room, and when I finally found it, I entered from the parking lot like this was a transformed motel - what an ordeal! ||My mom stayed in the room while I attended the show with other family members. Sadly, her asthma was triggered because a scent lingered in the air that a dog had stayed there, and a toilet bowl that smelled like urine. When I returned to the room after the show, I let my mom know that I felt bad for leaving her there. We would have moved rooms or hotels, but the entire 30-mile radius was sold out thanks to the "Breezy Bowl."||In my last several trips to the Lancaster/Hershey area, I continue to have great food, but very disappointing...
