Destiny Beach Villas — Attraction in Destin

Villa 15B was a perfect fit for a girls trip (2 adults, 2 teens). Everything was very clean and working. The kitchen was well-equipped and a joy to use with beautiful countertops and all new appliances. The bunk room was ideal for two giggling teens who hadn’t seen each other in a few years. There was great storage and each bunk had its own wall mounted tv. The master was bright, well decorated, and had a comfortable king sized bed and a large closet (with shelving) and porch access.

The pullout bed in the main living area was amazingly comfortable and we pulled it out not just sleeping, but for marathoning movies on the large wall mounted TV. The wall of windows in the living area/kitchen brought in so much light and the day and night views of the lake were beautiful…better sunset viewing from the villa’s deck than on the beach. The bathroom was nice…great water pressure in the shower. There were tons of outlets in every room.

The digital entry was convenient since there was no key that had to be kept up with. Parking was so easy…always spots available right in front of the unit. 15B is right across from the pedestrian tunnel that leads you safely to the beach side of Scenic 98. The pool area is very close to 15B. There are restrooms, plenty of chairs and loungers, and the pool was always clean and inviting. We didn’t get a chance to use the charcoal grills, but we saw them being used so that would be nice for meal prep. There’s a really nice trail along the lake.

The proximity to the beach was a major selling point for me. When booking, I wasn’t sure how close it would be, however, I was pleasantly surprised at what a short and easy walk it was to get to the beach (less than five minutes).

I look forward to renting 15B again. The beauty of the lake on one side and the ease of getting to the beach on the other side, makes this unit a real jewel. 15A has the same floor plan and would be accessible inside the unit, so that would be great if anyone prefers more space for...

‼️STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. BLACK MOLD‼️ Drove all the way from MN with a small child who has a bad mood allergy to arrive to this nasty place that looks so pristine on the pictures while in reality is nothing but a dumpster. Spoke with three different managers and asked to move us to a different unit. All of them had no other solution for us than keep staying exposed to black mold even with a small kid who has a severe mold allergy 🤯 The parking lot was 2/3 empty, they had plenty of other units, but nobody bothered to make an extra body move to have the problem resolved. These are very old buildings with newer kitchen and floors that create an illusion of a nice and clean space. Most likely they are all moldy since they didn't even bother to find us another unit even though there were plenty of them. House keeping could have been better, there were big sticky stains on tables, furniture was dirty and disgusting, fans were completely covered with dust. They have put new AC filters yet maintenance didn't even bother to report black mold issue even though you can see it immediately if you remove the filter. Well, maybe they did report yet nobody cared. We ended up going to the hotel for tonight and will search for a different vacation condo. We all developed a headache from being inside that place for even a brief period of time and still feel throat irritation even though we rinsed our sinuses almost immediately. Room 6A. I hate to leave a review like this but Vacasa told me to leave a review. After I asked the lady at Vacasa for the owners to reach out to me by email or phone. We like the location and view for sure. Quiet!! Maintenance and house cleaning needs to be ADDRESSED! All dishes we washed before using. Mouse droppings in all kitchen cabinets and drawers under counter top. Anything above 6ft not been clean. Windows filthy, front / back deck needs cleaned top to bottom. Walk through Door won’t latch to lock our belongings. Because frame rotten out and maintenance not using correct size hinge screws for door hardware. 1/8” screws doesn’t work very long. We come down to Destin a lot. I would have rather talked to the owner’s for a minute so they could just address the issue. I’m sure the owners pay good money to trust that their property will be taken care of. But it’s hard to find good help anymore. Much less someone to appreciate their job they are...
