Firstly the room we had reserved was a harbor view, but when we got there they gave us a street view. We asked about it and they said they said they couldn’t switch us due to not having anymore harbor rooms. Secondly when we got to our room it was HOT! like it had a cut out air unit in the wall (which is typically fine) but this one wasn’t cooling the room hardly at all, so we had to purchase a box fan to stay cool. Third the balcony door had a makeshift lock on it bc the original lock didn’t work, and the door kept getting caught it wouldn’t open and close properly. And when you tried to sit on the balcony you would get rushed with waves of heat due to the air conditioner. The air conditioner also leaked water all over the balcony. Fourth we went to take a shower and the water backed up, we called the front desk and they said they would get someone, after an hour they still hadn’t showed so we got it to go down ourselves. They still never came after numerous hours! We had only a shower no tub like the pictures show. Fifth we requested the night before for our room to be clean the following day in the morning (we knew we would be out majority of the morning) when we came back the room still wasn’t clean it was around 3pm. We asked the front desk to make sure it was getting cleaned she said yes they were busy but would get to it (which is completely fine) but we got back later that evening to a “clean” room. They didn’t sweep the floor at all, they did take the dirty towels and take out trash, left new towels and made the beds that was it. Sixth we wanted to rent the kayaks that’s they offer (one was broken) so they only had one, it was locked up and they gave us the key but the key didn’t work had to go back 3-4 times before they finally gave us the right key. They gave life jackets which were a joke, you had to air them up yourself by MOUTH, it’s untelling if they even cleaned them at all and the ones we had only 2 held air in them. Seventh the breakfast consisted of cold biscuits that you have to warm up, bagels, individual boxes of cereal and like danishes that’s it. Eighth every time we went outside even on the balcony it had a strong smell of weed (no hate, you do you) but it was so over powering especially while having kids there, this is suppose to be a...
Read moreThe staff was SUPER friendly and offered options for restaurants as soon as we arrived. They were very excited for our stay and wanted us to have a great vacation. Even before we got there, they were communicative-- it was our first vacation after getting engaged and we asked to check in early and they were more than accommodating and let us prior to arrival the status. They let us know they have happy hour every day from (I think 4-6) and offered a great variety of beverages. Every time we left or arrived they smiled and said hello and the cleaning staff was even very friendly-- I don't often experience that. The room was very clean and we had no issues; I think the issues I read about with folks having issues with the lights were due to the switches being a little tricky/modern, but we figured it out! We got a room with a bay view and it was AMAZING-- the balcony overlooked the pool and every morning and night we sat on it and just looked out to see the tiki boats, pontoons, tour boats, parasailing, etc and it was so nice and peaceful. We were able to walk to our dinner every night, all our activities (snorkeling, parasailing, sunset cruise, etc) as well as Harbor Walk, which were just minutes away. Breakfast was great for grab and go (cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, yogurt, coffee/juice/milk, donuts/danish, etc) and we sat there before our outings every morning and ate while we looked out at the water, it was beautiful! The pool was very nice, clean, and was not busy, even when others were there, they spoke to us and were very nice. Some folks checked in on our last day and were a bit rowdy, but it was tolerable, we had just gotten used to the quiet-- we arrived on a Wednesday and left on a Sunday. We did not encounter one problem! Just understand they do run a $200 deposit that will be refunded within five days--- this is made clear on booking wherever you book, but some folks seemed perplexed; if you read your booking, this should have been a no-brainer. We will absolutely return and encountered no problems at all...
Read moreWe traded our Blue green points to stay here thinking it would be a nice stay since all other hotels we've swapped points for have been nice on average. I mean the hotel looks, feels, and smells nice, but when we got to our room the floor was so filthy I wonder if it was ever swept. Then we had to go through some fire safety inspection the morning after we checked in. I understand stuff like this has to be done but in the morning?? We were on vacation and would have liked to have slept in but oh well.
The worse part of all was that this hotel zealously oversold their parking lot for 4th of July weekend. We come home from dinner to find no parking spaces, cars parked in unmarked spaces, and plenty of cars that were parked without a hotel parking pass on their dash. I reckon either this hotel doesn't have a big enough parking spot for it's guests, doesn't enforce parking adequately, or doesn't keep track of the amount of vehicles that guests are bringing in. We ask them what to do, and they say to park at Marine Cafe next door and to try and have my car moved before 7am the following morning. So I'm inconvenienced again because they can't control their parking? Anyways, come 7am, there are still no spots available despite Joe at the front desk saying there will be. I go back to sleep not worrying about it because there was simply nothing else I could do. 2 hours later they 'attempted' to reach us via the room phone, which I never heard, to tell us to move our car. They call the cell number on the reservation when I didn't pick the room phone up (I never heard it ring) and thankfully there was ONE spot left. Just one.
This hotel is nice looking but don't let it fool you, these people are running a sham of a business and you will be greeted with massive inconvenience and a dirty floor courtesy...
