Historic Holmes Theatre — Attraction in Detroit Lakes

ALL 4 of my kids are in the Holmes Theater Summer Musicals, here in Detroit Lakes. My eldest girl started back in 2021, with "Matilda Jr." My youngest 2 girls (twins) both were able to join up this year (2023) and got to perform in "The Addam's Family". Holmes Theatre was able to give 1 of my girls a scholarship for the summer. My husband & I are so very grateful that a scholarship program was provided. If not, 3 children would be just over $500. My Son, (15yo) is now part of the Holmes Theatre Tech Crew. After going to the Tech Camp they offer, he helped run Tech, Sound, & Lights for... "The Addam’s Family." 😊 We are happy he found another interest he's excited about. He wants to continue doing Tech, @ Holmes & his Highschool to help with Musicals, Performances, & concerts that happen there. 😀 Our Daughter's Dance recitals are also performed here @ Holmes Theatre by Northern Lights Dance Academy. Age requirements to start Theatre, children must be HEADING INTO the 5th grade, that following Sept. (9-10yo) * The Holmes Staff have always been so kind! If you need anything! I'd like to thank the staff for their support in helping to make the Wedding Reception and dance for my niece and her husband (Ashley and Payton) a wonderful event. The staff was professional, courteous, kind, helpful and most importantly they communicated regularly to make sure that everything was going well during the event. It is so nice to see that people really care about what they do but also the people they interact with. As of late I've seen a marked drop in professionalism but the staff really exemplifies what true professionalism really is.

If you are looking for a place to host your event the Holmes Theatre is a great place and I'm grateful they were available and that their staff attention to detail aided on making the day a rounding success and fun for family...

This theater is a very nice space and also seems very rooted in the community and promoting the arts. I so enjoyed the Christmas gospel music concert. The acoustics very nice. We sat close to the stage could hear everything clear as a bell. I definitely can't wait see another production here. This is a local gem. There was plenty of parking in a large parking lot too...
