We always attend events here and the fireside Fri are very fun. Sometimes we eat at Smoky Gs other times we bring food depending if have the kids. We had guests and the kids from out of town so we picked up hot and ready. Upon putting the pizzas down we were rudely greeted by restaurant staff that we couldn't bring the pizza in and the door states that. Upon reading the door it states no outside catering and we didn't plan on selling pizza so I didn't think that applied to us. Previous weeks during the fire and Ice I watched a few people have gatherings with outside food drinks and all. So I was disappointed they came at us like this. Also on other days they encourage you to work from home here and I've brought food.
The security allowed us to eat and just said don't bring again. However later the told us the mere sight of the pizza box on the table was against the rules. I had a feeling it was more of the restaurant staff upset than security.
The karaoke kings provided a lively set that we enjoyed. The games in the facility has something for every age group. Facility very clean, good lighting and safe. The parking lot need more gravel and even paving, so be safe if you have a...
Read moreThe planned events like Fire and Ice festival or the Lunar New Year/winter around the world Fest are worthwhile. They even set up a hill for sledding and supply some circle sleds (though feel free to bring your own if you don't want to wait for a turn). A large structure on Chene has restrooms and often food available. It's clean and well-lit.
My elementary school kids have had fun coming here for a couple years now. If you're a local or in the area, it's a nice spot to chill for a bit. There is a huge sand area to play in and a few play sheds with rope bridges and climbers. Note the "beach" is on the Detroit River, but there is no water access due to the retaining wall. The river isn't really safe anyway for leisure swimming with kids, unless you're at a calmer spot like Belle Isle Beach.
There's a free parking lot next door at Chene and Guoin. If that's full, there's a huge one across Chene (it was free when we've gone) that is also used for shows...
Read moreA first for me. I have to say it was really nice. It wasn't crowded when I went which was a Sunday. The weather was nice up to a point. A nice little place to hang out for food, fun, drinks, and beautiful view. I don't know if the seafood truck is always there but they have really good food. The price hurt my feelings but understandable for seafood and the times. Plus I had to get the Lobster. It was worth it me though. Love their Strawberry Lemonade too! I also had a drink at the bar they have there wasn't crazy about that. It was like lightly flavored water to me. The view was beautiful unfortunately, I didn't get a pic before the weather started to turn. Busy enjoying my food and conversation with my Auntie. They even have like a sand beach spot where you can play volleyball which is cool. So it's family friendly and would be a great place to take pictures by the water on a nice day. If you haven't yet...
