to call this a 4th class dump, would be to insult a 4th class dump. We booked a suite. We got a room. When changed to a suite, the furniture was broken, the A/C didn't work (it was 95 degrees in Detroit that day), there were no power outlets - the lamp at the nightstand could not be plugged in, nor could the worthless little coffee pot, nor could just about anything else. I tried to sleep on the floor - I'm a disabled vet, and that was my best solution to sweating like I was back in Khartoum. Before we went to bed, I booked a suite for the next 2 nights at the residence in Dearborn. Much better accommodations. Your hotel was simply unsatisfactory. I would rate it, DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. You did get our money refunded for the 2 nights we didn't stay that we had booked, and we even got our points back - we booked with both. This hotel hurt the Baymont brand name. I was expecting Residence Inn style hotel. This was not that. I will never stay in another Baymont property again. I paid for my night, but if you have a conscience and a bit of business sense, you will refund that night's stay and also the points expended on the night. I can not emphasize enough how terrible this experience was. The toilet barely flushed. There were bugs in the room. The floors are uneven from the bedroom to the bathroom. the AC was on 61 all night, and never cooled the room below about 90 degrees. It was impossible to sleep. We couldn't leave fast enough. The pictures on the web site look nothing like what we had. The fold out sleeper couch, was neither fold out, nor a sleeper. It was the size of 2 chairs pushed together. Because it was 2 chairs pushed together. I considered buying an extension cord and a box fan for the room, but I did not. We moved out before our reservation was finished. We checked out at 0930 the next morning. And canceled the rest of our stay. no elevators. down 3 steps to get to the first floor, up 14 to get to the second floor. Prove it to yourself. Make a visit to this hotel and stay in room 214. Tell me that furniture is up to standard quality. Show me the electrical outlets for lamps, coffee pot, anything. I think you will find what I did. And yes, I will post a similar report onto Trip Advisor and any other online accounts I have. I am not normally a complainer. But this property really hurt your brand name. Expect me to look for the CEO of Wyndham Resorts in an online search, and I plan to write that person a similar letter. Yes, on paper, and yes, mailed. Normally, I would do that first, for you, Mr. Giordano, but I just returned from an extended 19 day, bucket list trip - we visited 4 halls of fame, went to 3 baseball games, stayed in 7 hotels (6 in the Wyndham family, and one with Marriott) visited Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake, Frankenmuth, and just had a lovely time. Except for our night at your place. If this is your best work, I wouldn't consider...
Read moreI am coming here to write this post because even though it might have a “Baymont” name it is probably one of the sketchiest places I have stayed at in my entire life. When you first walked in the room it smelled like some cheap coconut banana perfume. The couch was two different shades of grey, was missing a back cushion and had stains all over it that I made a mental note to not even sit on it. The bed had some squeaks and creeks to it, but overall the linens did seem clean (the typical hotel not quality detergent smell, so not used, but not an at home laundry freshness) got up in the morning to take a shower and before I even get in I can see hairs, either beard hairs or not head hairs if you get what I'm putting down and the shower curtain smelled like mildew. Again, the towels seemed clean but typical non quality detergent/washers. This is where it gets worse. I wake up somewhere around 8am to check my phone for the time and notice I had a notification from OnStar that my theft alarm had been activated at 6:35am. Brushed it off tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad had happened. Sure as s**t when we checked out, the window to our car had been broken out. A “nice” man helped us with a trash bag and told us he was “security” and we were parked right in front of a camera (as he pointed to it). So either he wasn’t doing his job, the camera probably didn’t work, it was an inside job, or all the above. We stayed there because of an event all other places were either booked or charging $5-600+. We paid $200 for this. I’m just coming here to say IT 👏🏼 IS 👏🏼 NOT 👏🏼 WORTH 👏🏼 IT!! Pay the extra, use a credit card, finance it, affirm, PayPal, 6 months no interest on whatever credit card you use to get that deal do not stay here unless you don’t care about yourself or your property. I give 4 stars on the service because it is not the staffs fault, they do offer a shuttle to your event, and I even want to give the “nice” guy the benefit of the doubt as he helped us garbage bag up our broken window. The money “saved” staying here is not worth the devastation you will experience. It’s just not worth it, not the shards of glass you are continuing to pull out from your rear every time you drive your vehicle...
Read moreThis place is pretty rough. The pros are that the parking is fine and you can check in at 2 instead of the standard 3...and that's about where the pros end. They say they have a free shuttle every 15-30mins to anywhere in downtown Detroit, which I did not utilize, but it sounds like a pro at least.
The rest...I checked in at about 3pm and was assigned to room 111. The gal at the front desk was nice, she was sweet. I walk down the hall to my room and the hallways are about 100 degrees...the rooms have windows that open to the hallway which is weird. I reach room 111 and as I enter, it's like...fine for a cheap hotel. Furniture and everything is outdated and damaged and dingy. The room smells musty and and like smoke and fabuloso. I really had to pee so I immediately went for the restroom and there were a good 5 or 6 drain flies flying n around the toilet and sink, crawling on the TP and tissues. Gross. After this I checked the bed for bed bugs, luckily did not see any. I saw 2 drain flies in the main living area.
I decided to take a nap before my concert. I locked the door with the latch lock because I just had the sneaking feeling that at a low end hotel someone was gonna try and open my door. Sure enough, 15 mins into my nap, someone taps their key card and opens the door. Doesn't open all the way of course because of the latch lock, but I just knew it would happen. 5 mins later, front desk manager is knocking on my door asking for my key card which clearly says 111 and clearly works on the door. He leaves. 5 mins later I get another knock on the door. Same guy. I need to go to the lobby office now with my ID. Disrupt my nap to walk through these 100 degree hallways again. Turns out the gal gave me the wrong room. I should have been on the 3rd floor. They let me keep 111 of course. But wtf?
Then I get back from my concert at about 1230am. At a solid 130am, there's a loud and aggressive altercation in the hallway. Someone very angry and shouting 'GIVE ME MY * CUZ, YOU GOT ME *'Ed UP', 'QUIT PLAYIN WIT ME I AINT PLAYIN". Throughout the night the hallway sounds were loud and pervasive.
The TV turned on but connected to nothing.
There is no microwave and no...
