Today I lost all desire to shop at this location. Let me start by taking responsibility for my actions. I may have infringed upon a non-posted store policy. I was at a table where bagged items were on display. An employee by the name of John was restocking this table when he saw me opening one of the bags to examine the color of the corn in the bag. This employee, John rushed to me snatched the bag out of my hand while aggressively yelling at me as if I was his 5 year old child. I explained to him that laying hands on the customer was not something he should be doing and he proceeded to ascertain his actions and offered no apology for his wrong doing. I approached the department manager, Luis who maintained that the problem was the discounted items and not the employees behavior. I then approached the customer service desk and asked for the store manager. Jesusa came to the customer service desk and she also did not seem to see a problem with the incident beyond my opening the bag. As with this post, I started both conversations with the managers acknowledging that I may have broken a non-posted store policy. If the policy is not posted how is the consumer to know? Let us say for argument sake that the policy was posted and that all the wrong is on me. Does the store employee have the right to physically and verbally assault me in public? Should the store managers offer at least an apology or should they continue to deny all wrong doing and continue to blame the customer? I wonder if I should just call the police and file charges against both the employee and consult an attorney regarding their brutal dismissal of the offense. Needless to say I left all their product right where I last stood with the produce manager, Luis and purchased nothing. Continued patronization of this establishment would imply tolerance of their unprofessional and abusive behavior patterns.
As I specified to Jesusa, since you don’t seem to see any wrong doing with either of your employees behavior and you are failing to offer any correction of this employee’s actions, I will take this to a higher level.
The higher level is not the administrative body, it is the consumer. It is up to us the purchasing body to determine if we are going to do business and support with our income those who openly disrespect, abuse, and assault us.
I am not your average 60 year old white skinned woman who is intimidated by an aggressive black man. I have dealt with worse as a former Correctional Officer.
Under no circumstances should this employee have laid his hands on me in such an aggressive manner.
I should have taken pictures of the sign they do have up and both the department manager as well as the store manager acknowledged that the policy was not posted none the less, their focus is on me opening a bag that I not only intended to purchase but was in my cart until I abandoned the purchase in it’s entirety.
They have lost a customer and if one customer does not matter just consider that you...
Read moreBuford Highway Farmers Market: Is very well known landmark, grocery and fish market for many communities surrounding Atlanta city. I have regretted by the service of fish sections and the service I have received multiple times. I have come to share the experience and I believe the management would take proper actions to improve the service provided by the employee or the dept. manager, or the Management. I have shopped every month at the middle either Friday or Saturday as I get time to shop the grocery and fish. I have experienced, if it take additional time to find the fish or to find if the fish fresh or old the sales associate gets irritated, starts with attitude…YES! ATTITUDE!! Last Saturday June 19th I have shopped and my number was 13, I was getting my fish and while the associate was helping me he started to help another person. I have asked him the service is provided by the number, everyone is waiting with a number, please complete one and go to the next. I BELIEVE HE DIDN’T LIKE MY CONCERN… While my fish was processing I wanted to add more fish, I have called for help both of the associates denied to help to add additional fish. So, I went back got another number 62. My number came asked for help they both of them started to ignore me and stated to me that my number has not came yet. I have waited till the number 74, the number came and has gone... Service has not been provided; I would say ignored, rejected or refuse to serve. I have gone to the customer service help desk, reported to the lady by the name Fatima. She asked to leave my name and number so management would be in touch if it is necessary to discuss any matter. A week have passed I haven’t received any call in regards to the service. I am writing or posting so I, myself or any other doesn’t lose the appropriate service from the shop and treat every consumer...
Read moreTHE BEST grocery in all of Georgia. I've lived in Chamblee, Ponce area, West midtown, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Duluth.. and NOTHING offers such a vast, well stocked, diverse AND affordable array of produce, meat, and packaged items. Things you should know: I. PARKING Buford Highway Farmers Markets has a massive parking lot. This place is packed on weekends, so expect to park a little ways away and walk. II. SERVICE They offer one of the largest varieties of fresh produce in all the grocery stores of Atlanta to accommodate even the most exotic dishes. Organic options are available but limited. Spices are locally sourced & all the fish in the inner fish market are wild-caught. You'll note a European & Latino bakery within the walls. Japanese and Korean dishes, banchan & rice cakes are also available. The aisles of packaged items are categories by regions. We always gravitate towards the Korean, Japanese, and Eastern European sections. III. QUALITY Fresh! All the produce will not disappoint. They DO have a sale section for the aged fruits/vegetables, giving it one last chance of getting quickly utilized rather than thrown away. I will say, the makkeoli was not fresh.. the bottle we saw while browsing was expired. I cannot vouch for package items after that so please view the expiration dates. The spices are all locally sourced and not made with all the fillers you get from mass produced items. The fact that the fish market is all wild caught too is of high quality. IV. CAPACITY Weekends are packed! Week days are a little...
