Waffle House — Restaurant in Doraville

My son and I on our recent snow day in Atlanta decided to go get some breakfast at waffle House. We knew when we walked in it was going to be slammed. Mark, was the host a retired gentleman? That was very nice. The wait time was going to be 30 to 45 minutes, so we decided to take our breakfast to go and we eat in the car. But as we were waiting for our breakfast, we noticed that the wait times went down to almost zero. So I turned the mark and asked him to change our to go to ....we now would like to sit down and eat and enjoy our meal inside the restaurant. Mark pointed to a sign outside the window that says they're not allowed to do that. I guess he forgot that customers are what keeps waffle House in business. There's no reason why someone can't take a to-go order and then simply change their mind after all we do live in the USA and we're allowed to have the freedom to make a change in our decisions if we want. Shame on waffle House for that rule and someone should retrain Mark and tell him that rules sometimes are meant to be bent, especially when it's beneficial for...

This place was disastrous! First time here and the workers started arguing! No masks were worn as they cussed each other out over the grill. Almost came to blows. First of all there were only 2 people working. Then it took 1 guy 20 minutes before he took our order. The cook told him to call it out but he was still looking at the 3 orders before us. Then he began the argument that caused us to leave and go to another location. They were almost at blows! What a shame that we customers had to view this. They both said The other was high or drunk. The cook told him to ignore the phone. My friend that went with me said he came to this location 3 months ago and the guy was sleep and they started arguing then as well. When we paid, we asked for a receipt and all it showed was how we paid. No breakdown of the order. We WILL NOT be eating at WH ever again! This was a complete and total disgrace. The only reason i'm giving it a 1 is due to 1 employee who took our order. Although it was Christmas evening this spot had a semi busy flow. There were 2 cooks, 5 servers and 1 other woman, possibly the manager. While sitting at the counter (deciding what to order) less than 10ft away from cooks/grills, the woman whom i thought to be the manager began talking to both cooks, while talking she had a small plastic stick in her hand she was sticking inside her ears and making a grunting noise. After a few minutes she took the stick in between her fingers as to wipe it off and stuck it in her pocket. As she continued to talk to the male cook, she leaded up against the cooking counter touching it with her hsnds. The male cook than stepped back and asked her to put toast in the toaster.
