Authentic family-style Colombian restaurant.
This reminds me of those big old family style restaurants that used to find in small towns here in the US. Young girls with big smiles come to your table. They are polite, quick with your drink and bring out some good comfort food. The room was filled with latino families and working folks at lunch.
I like it here, my Colombian friends LOVE it. They raved over each dish, telling me stories of their childhood, where the dish came from and who in their family liked it the most. Waitress didn't speak English well but we managed with some pointing and nodding.
I ordered the dish that was tender beef on top of a thick corn tortilla. I ordered an appetizer that was described on the menu as seasoned potatoes with little hot dogs. They were little yellow, deep fried potatoes, with no hot dogs. My friends said it was an error in translation but that these were traditional and you just couldn't get anything like this anywhere else. The meal was simple, but tasty. I ordered some blackberry juice. I thought that was something unusual that I ought to try. It was amazingly fresh, like they had just smashed a bunch of blackberries, strained out the seeds, and served...

Pastel de pollo $2.00 tasted very good...savory and crunchy however beware is quite small. The lunch special is only $7.95!!!!!! and for that price you get rice, meat, Beans or a soup with a nice side salad plus a typical exotic drink of ur choice!!!! They also have a very good selection of typical famous in the Licious Colombian desserts. I'm here once a year or so. My Columbian friends love the authenticity of this place. For me, it feels like a rural family-owned restaurant from the 80s.
The food is tasty and filling, not fancy or refined. This time, I had chicken wings, which were tender with a thin, tasty, fried coating. The arepitas (small arepas) have a thick, bready crust with a spongy inside. They remind me of the homemade biscuits I had as a kid in the south.
They have delicious Colombian fruit drinks. I had a blackberry smoothie that was really light and tasty.
The service has always been prompt and friendly. They have never spoken much English but try to help me decipher the menu.
The restaurant probably had a rustic charm at a point. Now, it is worn with mismatched ceiling tiles, rough restrooms and floors that need to be redone. I laughed at another review that said that it had a western feel as this used to be a store for western wear and horse gear. I used to come here as a kid.
If you're strict on your allergens and don't speak Spanish, this...
