Detailed Review: well the first thing I looked at was the kitchen items, the pots and pans were scratched and dirty, whomever donated them didn't wash them, and scratched the bottom of the "non stick" pan. It's also toxic to use once the coating has been peeled or removed. The cup we saw had a dirty mouth stain on it, ugh. Next stop was ladies clothing, there was a pretty good bit of items to look through. Next stop was boys clothing, it was sad to see tearing on them and peeling and balls on the clothes. The men's clothes were the same LOTS OF STAINING on the pants and shirts. Really look over your items and look for peeling and staining. One shirt smelled like straight up poop and honestly I felt sick and lightheaded in there. Shoes, wow those things looked like someone had put them in the dumpster and vomited on them then put them up for sale. Shoes were disgusting. Next stop was dressing rooms, they looked like a jail cell and smelled like a soup kitchen, there was holes in the wall in the dressing room. Prices were pretty good, we walked out with less than $40 spent. Got quite a bit of men's dress pants. Overall I'd give 3...
Read moreI have drove from Florida 3 times to visit this store! I have purchased close to $100 each time and left there with 7 or 8 bags full of items. The store is VERY clean and VERY organized. I LOVE the items that are put in the bags and hung on the wall. I spend a lot of time there!! The thing about this thrift store is they do not sift thru everything like Goodwill does. Goodwill pulls everything with a name, the old Japan tiny figurines, old jewelry and sells it on DOT COM?? the lady told me. It is useless to go in there if you are hunting a treasure or two. I have found several in The America's Thrift store, and it keeps me coming back!!! The sales staff has always been very friendly to me!! Being a business owner most of my life, in fashions and other items, I also feel some of the items are some what high for what they are, such as the jewelry. It is overpriced, as well as the linens, and old linens. Shoes seem very reasonable, as does the home goods. Over all the prices average out. I have enjoyed each trip and will continue to drive from Florida to Alabama to The America's...
Read moreUse to absolutely love this store when they first opened. However, I have been thrifting for years and the prices are insane. I understand you have to pay employees and all, but $20 for a pair of USED no brand name jeans? And $8 for a sweater with stains? Dollar Tree items that have $1 on them still are priced for twice the retail amount. Kinda ridiculous at this point considering the items are being donated. This is suppose to be a second hand store. Not a full price retail store. Whoever is pricing needs to reevaluate.
Edit to my review a year ago: The prices have gotten even worse. I decided to give it another try but that was my last time going. I would rather shop at TJ Maxx or Ross and get brand new clothes for half the price of your used clothing items that are not always in the best condition.
Please consider some people thrift because they do not have much money. These prices...
