If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. 1 star is misleading. I have been to the lingerie section 3x recently for a bra fitting. I also went a few years ago and had a good experience. I needed to be re-fitted, but this time it was a horrible experience. There is an old African American woman there. She is very rude and disrespectful. I can't recall her name at the moment but she wears glasses and she's ALWAYS there. She never listens so I can explain my needs or my current fitting issues. She cuts me off to tell me that she's a professional fitter and doesn't need me to explain anything. She does it repeatedly.
She told me I was several sizes smaller than I actually am w/o even checking how my current size was fitting me. And when I tried to tell her she said she didn't need to know, because she knows how to fit because she's a professional fitter. I was there because my current size is now too small. (I've had fittings at specialty bra shops before. I'm not new to this).
So I wait several weeks checking back occasionally for when I didn't see her there. Finally, another fitter was at the counter. It took a while but we found my fit. Which was a bigger size like I already knew was needed. The older woman sized me over 4 sizes too small - with her so called trained eye. I went back to look for the new fitter and the old lady was there again. So, reluctantly I asked for her help again with a certain issue. She doesn't know what she's doing. She adamantly tells me a bra fits well despite my obvious concerns. She never addresses the issue I'm having like the other fitter did very well. She cut me off when I tried to show how the bra she chose was cutting into my chest... and says to let her speak. So I did. Then I showed her the issue and she says well it doesn't fit you well. (But she went on for 3 or 4 min about how it did. If she'd listen to the customer who is wearing the bra it would help a lot). She then criticizes the style of bra I was looking for. Telling me I must like my cleavage out. She says this 3 times. I told her this was the style the other fitter says fits me best. I then told her to leave out of my dressing room so I could get my shirt on and leave because I was getting upset. She acted shocked and left out. Tells me I slammed the door- which I absolutely did not do. I was fighting to remain calm. She says don't slam the door I'll call security. Smh. How ridiculous!! Yet when I walk out she was just talking to another customer. Threatening me for nothing. Absurd.
She also opened the door more than once when I was standing there with no shirt on. Once a customer was at the door asking for something and while I'm standing there shirtless she opens the door right up. Unbelievable!!! I've even seen her do it to another woman. When I walked out of my dressing room and could see the customer standing in her room, across from me, with her bra and no shirt on and the door wide open while this older woman speaks to her. She should be discreet.
A bra fitting should be comfortable, private and the customer should feel heard and understood. She's adamant about what she thinks is best and doesn't care about the customer. It's arrogance. I will not be back to this Dillard's. It's the worse bra fitting experience I've ever had! And I left pissed!!
The Newnan location is much, much better. And for bra fittings I'd recommend Newnan or a bra shop like Pretty Please or Jeannette Bras. I don't have to pay nearly $100 for a bra and then be treated like crap. I won't do it!! There are too many...
Read moreI love the quality of the clothes at Dillard’s, but the customer service experience was disappointing. Unless you’re actively making a purchase—which I was—the treatment can be unwelcoming.
While looking something up on my phone, a store employee seemingly found me suspicious enough to request a police officer to stand near me. I’m not sure if it was because of my race or how I was dressed, but it made me feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, and unfairly judged. Being watched closely by both a store worker and law enforcement while simply shopping is not an experience I expected or appreciated.
To make matters worse, my experience in the lingerie department was just as uncomfortable, but for a different reason. The employees there seemed way too comfortable invading my personal space. One woman refused to leave the fitting room while I was changing, and another took off my bra and put on a new one without my consent. I felt completely exposed, especially when one of them left the door open while I was still changing. Before I could even take off the second bra, she just walked in and stared at me as if I wasn’t standing there half-dressed. I understand they work with bras all day, but that does not give them the right to ignore personal boundaries. They never asked if I was okay with any of it—they just forced their way into the process, with zero respect for my privacy. One of them even asked my age, as if being younger meant I didn’t deserve basic decency.
If you’re a young Black woman, be mindful that standing in one place too long might get you treated like a suspect rather than a customer. And if you shop in the lingerie department, don’t expect them to respect your privacy....
Read moreMy husband and I were shopping at Dillard’s for some intimates and fragrance. The associate, I believe her name was Thea, in the intimate department was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable with the selection they had available. She found the exact items I was looking for. She made me feel comfortable and made sure I didn’t need anything else. She was very thorough and thoughtful thank you so much Thea. The fragrance department was just as helpful. The associates in both the men’s fragrance and the ladies fragrance were knowledgeable to the extreme, I was very impressed. There is so many different fragrances it was hard to choose which one but they helped me find the right one for me. I love it! They even had a gift set with that particular fragrance! In the men’s fragrance they helped my husband find the correct one for him as well, and he is very very picky about smells. So that is amazing in itself. Thank you all so much, you all made shopping at Dillard’s a pleasure! I will be going back in the very near future, I love...
